Junkyard America - Barack Obama

It's the first of the month, and that means time for some Civilization 5! This mod introduces Junkyard America as a playable civilization, led by everybody's favourite American president.

This is a mod that was not meant to be taken seriously. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy it.

The objective is to destabilize the entire world by creating the most powerful welfare state in history. People from every corner of the world will flock to your cities to take advantage of the legendary benefit programs. With enough tourism it will only be a matter of time before all other nations collapse out of sheer jealousy, once again rendering you the greatest country in the world. (In other words, a tourism victory condition). I have found this civilization extremely challenging to play, but very powerful if it survives until modern times. Getting used to this unusual playstyle is hard enough for a human being, so fine-tuning the AI will require a lot of playtesting.

I will be glad to put in a little more effort into this mod and add stimulus packages + fill in the civilopedia with sarcastic comments if there is a demand.

Feel free to use whatever I made without asking for permission. I will happily provide the source code and/or answer any questions, especially since this is the first Civilization 5 mod to document dynamic tourism (a hard-coded and unsolvable Gordian knot). EDIT: The Colonialist's Legacies Australia mod had a similar solution, but they seem to have kept it a secret.

I love the angry comments just as much as the positive ones, so keep 'em coming and make sure to tell your friends.

Leader: President Barack Obama

UA: Obamacare: +1 tourism and no unhappiness from unemployed citizens. Double unhappiness from citizens who have to work.

UB: Welfare Office, replaces Factory: +1 food and a further +1 tourism from unemployed citizens. -1 gold and science per unemployed citizen.

UU: Predator Drone, replaces Helicopter Gunship: similar to the helicopter only with a ranged attack, and is very good at killing people.
