Step one: aggressively invade the western roman empire as soon as you kill the visigoths

Step two: become friends with all the barbarians and trade as much as possible



why?: the western roman empire is simply unable to stop your steamroll advance and all the factions that would of normally invaded you become your friend due to your violence commited against the western romans (also all the trade with the barbarians gives you loads of money)

notes: once all the western romans are dead the barbarians will slowly start to like you less.
to prevent having to deal with the fallout of this simply change corse and start beating up the huns instead. by the time attilas gone you will be unbeatable

Step 1 : Gather a few tens of thousands of coins worth of money

Step 2 : ERE mechanic allows you to make even more money when you have money sitting around in your treasury each time you end turn so you can become extremely rich very fast and build your infrastructure and armies solely from the interest you get.

or you could just save money and let ur land be taken over while having ur entire military protect one area that you want to keep. the eastern romans get 5 percent interest on their treasury each turn. you only need to save enough to have more than your expenses and then the more you save the more you gain each turn, eventually you dont need an income. you can cover all ur expenses with interest and then also steadily build a larger army. no other faction can stop you from doing this. and you will eventually get so strong no other faction can even beat you. you can have an army in each city and still have loads of money coming in.

Easiest way to deal with Sassanids. Subjugate them early game.
