You'll find limited support in any issues you maybe having with BF3 from EA these days. So here I'm adding a link to a very common issue I see with a lot of players, that being 'Punkbuster'. Alot of people encounter issues where they're being kicked by Punkbuster, I was one of them. My workaround was to go ands download the PBSetup straight from evenbalance. This solved my issues for BF3 and BF4 also.

Another recommendation would to be go into your Battlefield 3 folders to locate installers for directx and vc. Inside of these you want to locate the redist folders and open the setup installers.
First you want to open up the 'File Folder' on your PC, then 'This PC' and go to where you have your Steam games installed. For myself I have a dedicated SSD for my games and they are located as a (D:) drive.

I run the setups for directx and vc, doing this solved all my issues in having the game running and not being kicked once I got into servers.

Keep in mind you will need to have an account with EA and also have the EA app installed to play BF3:

One bug I do have and haven't managed to fix my end. Is when in game and click into 'Video Settings' it crashes my game. I've tried numerous ways around this without fixing it. However one little work around I have managed to do was to install a little plugin from realmware where I could manually sort my video settings so it would run the game to settings I like for my PC:

The reason for this section is to make you aware of how these achievements unlock to eliminate any concerns. Starting the game through steam it loads the EA app, to then opening up a browser to the Battlelog. From here you'll see the server browser section where you can find servers to play on. For all ribbons and stats to log, a round must be completed. Leaving or disconnecting doesn't store your stats.
While you'll have your achievements unlock you'll see them on the EA app. As for steam you wont get these pop up until they're registered. So you'll notice you may get a lot of achievements unlock at the same time on Steam, this usually happens when you reload the game back up and join a game. You could do this instantly from after you first quit out of your gaming session on Battlefield 3. This is well known across the community so its nothing to fear, people wont question your unlocked stats for this game.

Server Rentals:

Now we are nearing towards the end of 2025, a lot of these achievements will be hard or near on impossible to obtain the 'legit' way through gameplay. So a lot of the current community and those knew wanting to play Battlefield 3, may find yourself needing to rent a server for the game and getting a group of 4 minimum together to achieve these achievements. Quite possibly to do all the assignments too.
Here I'm listing all the websites you can get a server service from third party companies still offering these. There maybe more out there, but these are the few I've found and seem very easy to purchase and get setup. As your looking to most likely boost with a minimum of 4 people. I recommend just purchasing a 10 slot server.

Took your first enemy Dog Tag


For this achievement you will have to equip your knife, get up to an enemy from behind or the side and press your key. IF it does the animation and collects their tags on the kill, you'll have this achievement unlocked. This will happen within your gameplay. Sneaking up on an enemy sniping or capturing an objective often becomes the easiest opportunity for these kills. It has to be a knife kill to collect the Dog Tags.

Colonel
Rank 45 achieved!


For this achievement you will need 1,600,000 XP to reach Level 45. If obtained through gameplay, can be obtained in about 40 hours of gameplay with an average 600 SPM.

Some useful tips that I can recommend:

• Play the objective. As playing the objective gives you a lot of points (Capturing the flags in Conquest, Arming/Defending the M-COM Stations in Rush).
  
• Play with either the Assault or Support classes. The Assault class is more stronger at infantry combat, but the Support class is an overall decent class. Both classes can obtain a lot of points by using their utilities (for example reviving players, or dropping ammo for teammates). One of the best weapons in the game is the AEK-971, which is unlocked fairly quick as Assault. This gun can kill players pretty fast and is not hard to use.
  
• Noshahr Canals on Team Deathmatch and Operation Metro on Conquest or Rush are the maps that are small and chaotic, and they're all about infantry combat. Mastering these two maps can grant you a lot of XP.
  
  As for boosting, rent a server for 1 day and have at least 4 more players so you can start a match. A boosting method that requires 5 players and also can be done with 4, however, will be less efficient):
  
• Find a map that has a 9M133 Kornet Launcher. Tehran Highway on Rush is recommended amongst boosting communities.
  
• Get 2 players stand next to each other.
  
• get 1 player to place a 3 C4's.
  
• Once this is setup, all you have to do is shoot the placed C4 with a stationary emplacement weapon. You'll get 500 or 600 XP per 1 shot providing that you killed the 2 players at the same time while destroying the 3 C4's,
  
• Revive the 2 players.
  
  In this process you'll unlock Stationary Emplacement Ribbons, Anti Explosive Ribbons. Getting 20 kills with stationary emplacement will get you the Stationary Emplacement Medal. 1 Stationary Emplacement Medal rewards you with 10,000 XP per medal. You do also get a Stationary Service Medal for every 1 hour, which also gives you 10,000 XP per medal. Doing this for about 5 to 6 hours from level 0 will give you around 1,600,000 XP.

Support Class: You will need to have attached as one of your gadgets the ammo box. Drop this and when your other team mates restock their ammo 7 times, you'll receive this ribbon.

Recon Class: You will need to have attached as one of your gadgets the T-UGS or MAV. Any enemies that have been marked by these and killed by other team mates 5 times in a round, you'll receive the ribbon.

For this achievement you need to get a kill with the skid loader, its recommended to drive the vehicle in 3rd person for a better view as in 1st person the view is very limited. You can find the skid loader on these maps on the Conquest Assault game mode:

• Sharqi Peninsula: Located at the construction site.
  
• Gulf of Oman: Found at the construction site.

For this achievement you need to get a kill in the following vehicles as stated:

Gunslinger
Got 10 kills with each of the ten Back to Karkand weapons


For this achievement you need to first unlock these guns by completing the assignments for them. Once you have completed these and unlocked the weapons, you simply just have to get 10 kills for each gun. In total there are 10 assignments and 10 weapons, each assignment completed unlocks a weapon.
You can also play Gun Master game mode from the Close Quarters DLC or Scavenger game mode from the Aftermath DLC, you just need to be on the Back to Karkand maps.

Weapons and their unlock requirements:

• FAMAS - Get 10 Heals and 10 Revives.
  
• L85A2 - Unlock the FAMAS, Kill 100 enemies with Assault Rifles, 20 kills with the M320, win 5 Squad Deathmatch matches (SQDM).
  
• G53 - Get 10 repairs, Kill 1 enemy with the Repair Torch.
  
• QBZ-95B - Unlock the G53, Kill 50 enemies with AT rockets, destroy an enemy vehicle with the Repair Torch and win 5 Conquest matches (CQ).
  
• QBB-95 - Kill 20 enemies with Light Machine Guns and 2 Mortar kills.
  
• MG36 - Unlock the QBB-95, Kill 100 enemies with Light Machine Guns, 50 Suppression assists, and 50 Ammo resupplies.
  
• QBU-88 - Kill 20 enemies with Sniper Rifles and 5 Laser Designations (By using the SOFLAM).
  
• L96 - Unlock the QBU-88, Kill 50 enemies with headshots, 50 Spot assists and 5 Knife takedowns.
  
• PP-19 - ARM 10 MCOMs, Capture 10 flags and play 2 hours on the "Strike at Karkand" map.
  
• MK3A1 - Unlock the PP-19, Kill 10 enemies with the PP-19, 5 kills in the DPV jeep, 10 kills with the BTR-90 IFV, Play 2 hours on Sharqi Peninsula, and 2 hours on Gulf of Oman.

Complete Warrior
Got a kill with the following weapons in a single life: Assault Rifle, Jet, Tank


For this achievement you need to get a kill with an Assault Rifle, a jet and a tank all in one life without dying, however if you do get killed and revived by a squad/team mate, you'll still unlock this achievement. The best maps to do this on would be Caspian Border and the Gulf of Oman, I find it easier being on the RU side too. I recommend first trying to get the kill with the Jet as this is usually the most difficult one for a fast majority of players, simply because of not being use to the controls needed to master flying, the time to learn also.

Grinding the Crack
Fell over the edge on Ziba Tower


For this achievement you need to be playing on Ziba Tower and simply jump off of the edge and fall to your death. Game modes recommended for this are Conquest Domination & Gun Master.

Man of Calibre
Completed a round of Gun Master


For this achievement you have to simply just play a round of Gun Master, you dont need the win, just complete a round.

Deadly Tools
Without dying, got a kill with a Carbine, Pistol and Rocket Launcher


For this achievement you need to without dying, obtain kills with a Carbine, Pistol and Rocket Launcher. To do this select the Engineer Class and in your loadout you want to make sure your primary is a Carbine (M4A1, G36C, SCAR-H). First you want to try and get a kill with your Rocket Launcher (RPG or SMAW). Once you have obtained this kill, go for your Carbine and Pistol. You can be downed in the progress of this achievement but you must be revived by a squad/team mate. If you died and got to the respawn menu, you will need to attempt again.

Show of Force
Got 10 Kills with all ten CQ weapons


For this achievement you have to complete all the assignments needed to unlock each of the 10 weapons. You can get all weapons but not the M5K if you play Gun Master or Scavenger game modes. This will also require you to almost get through all of the gun cycles before the round is over to obtain it this way. So for a majority of players I would recommend unlocking the assignments for each one.

Weapons and their unlock requirements:

Assault Class:

• AUG A3 - 10 squad revives, 30 assault kills.
  
• SCAR-L - 20 kills with the underslung grenade launcher, 15 kills with hand grenades.

Engineer Class:

• ACW-R - 20 AT rocket kills, 30 kills with carbines
  
• MTAR-21 - Get a kill with the EOD BOT, 100 kills with carbines

Support Class:

• L86A1 - 20 squad resupplies, 20 kills with LMGs
  
• LSAT - 10 kills with C4, 10 knife takedowns

Recon Class:

• M417 - 10 T-UG assists, capture 20 flags
  
• JNG-90 - 50 kills with sniper rifles, win 3 rounds of conquest domination.

All Classes:

• SPAS-12 - 20 kills with pistols, 20 kills with shotguns
  
• M5K - Finish in the top 5 of Gun Master, 100 SMG kills.

For this achievement you need to get a kill with the Gunship found in Conquest and Rush game modes. The best map would be Alborz Mountain and your team must have captured the C flag location. Once this is achieved you can spawn into the Gunship from the Respawn menu. Only one kill is required for this achievement.

Dropship
Destroyed the Gunship


For this achievement you need to destroy the Gunship found in Conquest and Rush game modes. Again I would recommend the map Alborz Mountain to achieve this. When the enemy holds the C flag location, the Gunship will be deployed. A good thing about this achievement is an enemy player doesn't need to be onboard. You can destroy the Gunship in various of ways: Heli, jet, tank, AA and any Anti aircraft weapons from the Engineer Class.

For this achievement you need to get a kill with the Quad bike. You can also have the kill count if you've jumped off the Quad bike and it still hits a player. There are Quad bikes for both sides and a fair few do spawn around the maps at some objective locations.

Superiority
Won one round of Tank Superiority


For this achievement you need to play Tank Superiority mode and win. The whole idea of this mode is Tanks and Infantry, you must kill and capture the flag to lower the other teams tickets. If boosting this achievement in a rented server, I recommend in the server settings to lower the ticket count to 50%, to make the round go quicker.

Destroyer
Got 10 kills each with Tank destroyers and Mobile Artilleries


for this achievement you need to get 10 kills with the Tanks and Artilleries, totally to 4. If playing on the Alborz mountain map, the Mobile Artillery will spawn at the B flag location and the destroyers spawn at your spawn points. The vehicles required for this are:

• M1128 (US) (Destroyer)
  
• M142 (US) (Artillery)
  
• SPRUT-SD (RU) (Destroyer)
  
• BM-23 (RU) (Artillery)

Bite your finger
Found the secret reptile


For this achievement you will need to locate the secret reptile. However this secret isn't so secret after all as I'm about to spoil it for you. To locate this 'secret' reptile you must be playing on the Epicenter map on the Conquest game mode, On the C flag is where this 'secret' reptile will spawn. Extreme Hoarder
Picked up 50 weapons in Scavenger mode


For this achievement you will need to play the game mode Scavenger. The idea with this game mode is everyone starts off with a pistol and you all have to run round picking up weapons while capturing flags to drop the other sides tickets. It's a lot easier to obtain then you think, once you've picked up 50 weapons you will unlock this achievement.

Pocket full of death
Without dying, got a kill with xbow, primary weapon and hand grenade


For this achievement you will need to in one life get a kill with the following as stated; xbow, primary weapon and a hand grenade. You must have already unlocked the xbow (See the achievement Handyman for the requirements). I think the most difficult kill to get out of these is the hand grenades so I would try going for this first. Once that is out the way focus on the xbow kill then the primary weapon. You can be downed in the progress but you must be revived by a squad/team mate, if you died to the respawn menu, you'll have to start the process again.

Home made javelin
Destroyed an enemy vehicle using the xbow


For this achievement you will need to destroy an enemy vehicle. You must have already unlocked the xbow (See the achievement Handyman for the requirements). Now the trick for this trophy to make it easier, is destroying a T-UGS, MAV, EOD Bot or Spawn Beacon also count towards this achievement. As for vehicles like an enemy car or Heli, these can take a few hits to destroy. HE Bolts will make this achievement easier also.

Handyman
Unlocked all xbow parts


For this achievement you will need to have completed the 5 assignments required towards unlocking parts for the xbow. Here is a list of the requirements below:

• Sticks And Stones (XBOW) - Win 3 rounds in scavenger
  
• It is Ok To Thank Me (SCAN BOLT) - Get 20 spot assists, Designate 10 vehicles, Get 1 designated assist
  
• Go Play Close Quarters (XBOW SCOPED) - Total of 150m headshots with sniper rifles, Total of 150m headshots with assault rifles, Total of 150m headshots with carbine rifles
  
• Stay Away From My Tent (BA BOLT) - Get 50 kills with sniper rifles, Get 10 headshot kills with sidearm
  
• A Good Demo Man (HE BOLT) - Get 5 kills with hand grenades, Get 5 kills with underslung grenades, Get 5 kills with C4

Its no sidecar
Got a kill from the passenger position on a motorcycle


For this achievement you are required to get a kill while being a passenger on a motorcycle. This can be tricky with aiming while your squad/team mate a riding, but its do-able. An easy option would be to place claymores or anti tank mines in front of vehicles. As long as a kill is obtained while you are a passenger, this will unlock the achievement.

AAs revenge
Destroyed an air vehicle using AA jeeps


For this achievement you are required to destroy any air vehicle while using the AA jeeps found on Conquest and Capture the Flag game modes. An easy option to do this is with its heat-seeking system, finding a good location on a map. When locked onto an air vehicle don't fire straight away, wait for them to using their counter measures. Once they have done this fire away and you'll obtain this achievement. Its best to be in the vehicle on your own as random team mates could mess this up for you.

Heavy Lifter
Killed an enemy after successfully paradropping a vehicle


For this achievement you have to see on your respawn menu DROPSHIP IFV on Conquest game mode only. Soon as you've dropped just keep driving around on alert and it be easier to pick off an infantry.

• LAV-25 (US)
  
• BMP-2M (RU)

Capture The Flag
Captured one flag while playing CTF


For this achievement you will need to play Capture the Flag game mode. Your teams flag must not be captured. If its captured you will need to kill the enemy player carrying it and stay near the flag to fill up the meter, to return it. The more players near it, the faster it fills up. Watch out for traps around the flags, this seems to be a very common method to get cheeky kills.

Transport Pilot
Transported a flag carrier in an air vehicle in CTF


For this achievement you will need to fly a Heli with the flag carrier onboard to capture the flag. This can be an annoying trophy in normal gameplay but also the most fun and most rewarded way. However as these modes are hard to come by this will most likely be boosted along with many other achievements. Still here is a video attached to show how it is done:
