Description

Research Expanded is a mod that introduces a new, fully script-driven research investment system. It adds a custom economy slider, tooltips, and visuals that let you dynamically invest a percentage of your economic base into research, trading monthly gold for increased research speed.


Compatible with: 1.0.10 Beta
Supported Language: English
DLC: No need
Ironman: No


Just like stability investment, you can now spend up to 10% of your economic base on research, reaching a maximum flat research speed bonus of +0.20 at full investment. These are test values and will probably be adjusted over time based on your feedback and balance suggestions.

Is 0 investement basically vanilla amount of research while max investement is a pure bonus, Or is 0 investement straight up 0 research?

I think the amount of invesment should scale up with Average Literacy of the country, or the Average Literacy of the Clergy at the capital.

ooo, you can add a new line of spending on budget? Wonder if you could also do this for income, too. If so, the possibilities are endless for government finance modding. AFAIK, you could never modify the budget window in EU4 and add a new line for either income or expenses.

Perhaps, someone could somehow mod in tariffs and other boring fiscal stuff after all, one day in the future. ;P

I’ve scripted the AI code, and once I’m sure it doesn’t mess up the AI, I’ll update the mod, probably tomorrow.
