描述
An Imperial Fleet battlecarrier blueprint


Drones have limits – this is an insight that the Imperial Fleet Command gained over the recent years. While they are great as supporting units in combat scenarios with clear parameters, the moral and intellectual capabilities of fighter pilots will beat an AI reasoning system in 6 out of 10 situations. These odds were enough to convince Fleet Command to commission the largest stellar carrier ever built. The Cataphract Class is a battlecarrier, capable of sending out several squadrons of fighters while being able to stay within a line formation due to their extensive armour and weaponry systems. Missile systems, chaff units and active decoys enhance the combat capabilities while the carrier itself is able to sustain operations for years with fighter repair bays, construction facilities, crew recreation sections and food production facilities. A Cataphract costs about 150 million Solidi – and that is without the squadrons.


Named after the famous armoured cavalry units of the first and second century of the Empire the Cataphract Class ships get their names from important military leaders of the time, the lead ship being named after Empress Velantra I. They often work in squadrons. with other deep-jump capable vessels like the Limitanei Class or the Velites Class.

This ship comes with OPTIONAL MODS by me. These are completely optional but will enhance the feeling of the blueprint. Ignore all warnings about missing mods, they are not consequential for the functionality of the ship.

“DLC split the community, why do you use them here?”
I understand the argument, but I do not agree with it. I use the DLC because the give me the vanilla possibilities to use decorative freedom that I would otherwise not have. You are free to use the item without the DLC and I will not change my old worlds and blueprints so they can still be used without DLC. For new content, however, I chose to use all available DLC.
!!I will publish ALL my blueprints in world files that do not need the DLC at some point!!

Thank you very much! I do agree with the LCD idea but that would mean either I'd have to rip a lot of lights and corridors out to make that possible consistently or I'd have to live with the fact that only a few areas get an LCD sign. I'd love to have some LCD/Corridor combo blocks for exactly that

I wish to say I love the design of this ship. It's one of the most practically designed carriers I've ever seen. It could do with some polish by adding things like corner LCDs for signage to help you find your way around, though.
