Details

Vanilla RimWorld does not account for setups with many modded factions. Enemy factions always start drawing from the center, and every additional row is placed beneath it. As a result, the list quickly overflows downward and overlaps with other faction icons. Moreover, it even extends past the right edge of the window.

This mod adjusts the layout so that any number of factions can be displayed at once without breaking the UI.

Compatibility

- Compatible with VFE - Classical': accounts for "View Senators" box.
- Probably incompatible with other mods that touches the same UI.

How this work

- Since the vanilla faction UI logic is all handled inside a single method, this mod applies a Harmony prefix that re-implements most of that logic (drawing the main faction icon, faction names, ideos, relations, etc.) with mostly copy&pasted codes, except for the part that draws enemy factions. The prefix then skips the vanilla drawing routine entirely.

- As a result, if you view Dubs Performance Analyzer while looking at faction UI, it may look like the prefix is taking some performance. However, the analyzer does not account for the fact that the original vanilla drawing code, much of which performs the same work and is now being skipped, would have incurred a similar cost. You can ignore it.
