What is this?
This is a fully configurable tool for you as a user/developer to pace your game however you'd like. This is a mod designed for people using large modlists with tech traversal, like my modpack. By default this mod does nothing.

Features
  • Add a multiplier to increase or decrease research for an entire tech level
  • Round the values to nice numbers, and make those specific to each tech level's own difficulty
  • Using VE Gravships? Optionally exclude its gravdata from the calculations
  • Fully customize it on your own

Reccomended settings?
Still figuring it out! What I have right now in that screenshot is my current idea for the Progression modpack. But I need to think on it more...

Having the same issue as Proto, except my rimworld just crashes, leaving no log or anything,

The latter, one big research project per tech level that you can customize the value of. I tried doing something like this myself with Tech Block, but it lacks any way to fast-track the eras. Surprisingly I haven't seen any mod on the workshop that has a devmode option for researching specific tech tiers, closest thing I've seen is a mod that adds an item that researches one random project in a tech level. Perhaps there's some useful code in them.

@🐺🐺🐺🐺WOLP I'd need you to explain more what that means. Do you mean like, setting a global amount that would then be split among all the research projects of that era? Or are you saying have giant research projects that unlock an entire era's projects?

This is extremely close to what I'm looking for, but I'd like to request some mod option to let us set the research cost of whole tech levels. The reason for this is that there's a ton of mods that add research to the same tech level, VE for example (much as I like it) has more than the whole default tech tree in industrial just in tier 3 car projects. So, being able to set the value of industrial (and other levels) and unlock the whole level at once seems like a solution.

My fairly new colony won't load with this added. Must be incompatible with Vanilla Expanded Framework or Vanilla Gravships Expanded pt. 1 as those were the only mods updated when I added this.

Sadly after adding this mod game just crashing on loading existing save file (1k+ mods) without any helpful messages in logs. Semi Random Research is active and one of research is in progress.
