Welcome to another installment of my mod series entitled Epochs!
Epochs is a mod series focused on adding small additions to make medieval/fantasy (but not restricted to that) playthroughs of Rimworld more fun or engaging, or even more scenic.

As of now, I don't want to spoil anything else that's planned for the future, so let's get into what this mod adds!


This mod introduces golems, a new type of pawn created through Asimov, they act as animals, need sleep but no food, and do labor based on the skill they have, which can be seen by clicking on them.

They can be recolored, and can't be repaired. So, better to just disassemble them if they're too damaged. Don't get attached.















Q: "Why does this need Asimov and Tabula Rasa?"
A: "Because they're the entire basis for how the golems work. They simply can't exist without the 2 mods."

Q: "Is this mod CE compatible?"
A: "Definitely not yet."

Q: "Is this tribal friendly?"
A: "Yes. If you don't want to cut a tree, you can wait until a trader is selling a glowing seed to start the research. Clay golems need no technology to create."

Q: "Can they be recolored?"
A: "Yes, golems can be recolored through the buttons that appear when you select them. Some golems even have 2 colors you can change."

Q: "I encountered an error!"
A: "Send me the logs so I can identify the issue."

Q: "Can I suggest additions or new features?"
A: "Sure, though there is a lot more coming to the mod soon, like plate golems and the golem press."



ThatBartGuy who gave me the idea for the golems to use anima wood.
Sir Van as his Dark Ages series was my main inspiration for Epochs.
SirLalaPyon as Medieval Overhaul was also a huge inspiration.

No fonts were made by me.

This mod is distributed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, which means that you can use and modify this mod as long as you credit me and others who worked on it.

I'm enjoying this mod a lot.

Only thing I would suggest looking at is the cost of things, specifically the anima doll. The dolls are 2.5 times the cost of the golems, so each golem that dies results in a wealth spike. If you take heavy losses in a raid, you end up with higher wealth, which encourages storytellers to "kick you while you're down" and send you harder raids despite your reduced force.

Since there isn't any real uses to the anima logs, maybe it's worth making dolls non-recoverable, so there is a reason to keep farming logs. It'd also prevent the wealth spike. Just an idea ofc.

This mod is wonderful - thank you very much. Handing off menial labour to these guys has helped greatly, and they are nice and quick to replace when things go wrong, like a center drop raid catching my utility golems out of their safe room. And they're cute !

This is great!! the only thing I dont like much is the "disassemble" , maybe add a module to give golems regen? or a way to make them repairable with enough tech? (maybe a building like a molten clay vat where golems can go to be "rebuilt" automatically?)

Alright yeah after testing for a while, Locks is incompatible, unsure with golems specifically or asimov, good to know though! Now my golems are FREEEEE YIPPEE!!

There's the mod Locks which I have for the Prison Labor mod, seems to be the only mod changing interactions with doors (and interactions in general in my list), I'll see about testing without the mod!

A small suggestion

Add the ability to have a golem be made with an anima bloom, allowing very slow healing, reduced need for sleep, and better productivity.
