There are 3 points that Newbies ought to pay attention to right as they start playing:

• Anchor for Suomi and Grape. More details on the Factory page[docs.google.com].
  
• Use UMP45 from 7 day login as your tank until you get RO635 from Main Story
  
• Pull Damage Equipment with IOP Specials
  
• Check out the Mission Skip section and make sure not to waste your gems

• Can I use my existing GFL account with Steam? Yes, if you bind it to a Sunborn account first. You can do this in-game in the settings page of the mobile client. Otherwise, contact MICA support here[docs.google.com].
  
• The Steam client is region-locked for me, what do? The Steam client can be turned into a standalone one. Someone just needs to download the client from Steam,replace steam_api64.dll with a cracked one inside \GirlsFrontLine_Data\Plugins, and share it with you. I have done so here[drive.google.com].
  --- Note that payments will not work with this, and it will break after every client update (not regular maintenance).
  
• Text is borked and all my dolls need a repair for some reason!? Change your locale/display language to English. This is because the client is incorrectly accounting for commas vs. periods.
  
• Can I use keybinds? The Steam client comes with in-fight keybinds, but no keybinds anywhere else. You will need to use AutoHotKey or similar programs for out-of-fight keybinds; however, you should do so at your own risk. While it is unlikely that MICA will ban you, it is technically possible.
  
• Will GFAlarm work? Yes, you just need to setup the proxy on your device. On Windows, you can go to Settings -> Network & Internet -> Proxy -> Manual proxy setup
  Note that this proxies ALL your PC's network traffic through GFAlarm.
  
• To zoom in or out on the Steam client, use the Scroll Wheel on your mouse.

The first free "skip" is absolutely worth picking up, whether you're new or an older player, as it grants you the gold medal gems immediately. The other two are absolutely not worth it, and you will never make back the gems wasted here (you can easily get the gems from gold medals later).

Progression in GFL is heavily gated behind doing your Main Story and ensuring you have a healthy Armory and can clear everything in new events will be much easier by spending your resources in the right areas early on.

• Work on clearing the early Story, through the Combat menu[docs.google.com]
  
• Complete Career Quests[docs.google.com]
  
• Complete at least 6 daily quests for the reward box, read the Daily Quests section of the Battlepass & Quests[docs.google.com] page for more information
  
• Craft your daily 4 Dolls, 4 Equipment and 4 Fairies in the Factory[docs.google.com], remember to spend all 20 IOP Specials each week
  
• Do currently running Event, for more on how events work see the explanations here[docs.google.com]
  
• Night maps work differently, read the Night map section of the Combat guide[docs.google.com] when you intend to do them
  
• Craft Fairies[docs.google.com] every day after they are unlocked
  
• What to spend your gems on[docs.google.com]
  
• Spend your Batteries and Sim Energy on the right things early on[docs.google.com]
  
• When you clear Story 7-5 Protocol Assimilation is unlocked, see the Coalition basics page[docs.google.com] for more info

If you haven’t already or aren’t sure, it is highly recommended that you bind your account to an email to prevent loss of account if your device or client ever experiences issues. Major updates may also cause temporary accounts (Guest Commanders) to cease functioning.
