Tarkov uses four different weapon box sizes across Customs, and each one has its own loot pool. The grid size matters because it determines what can actually fit inside when the raid starts.

The smallest boxes you'll find. These spawn weapons and mods that fit within a 4x4 grid space. You won't find full sized rifles here, but attachments, pistols, and SMGs show up regularly.



Think compact. The 4x4 boxes frequently drop:

• Pistols (Glocks, Makarovs, TT pistols)
  
• SMG parts and complete SMGs that fit the dimensions
  
• Optics (Aimpoint, EOTech, Kobra sights)
  
• Muzzle devices, foregrips, stocks
  
• Ammunition in various calibers
  
• Tactical rigs and some armor pieces

The loot table is extensive. Over 200 different items can spawn, from budget 9x18mm rounds to premium optical sights worth 50k+ roubles.

These boxes expand the possibilities. The 5x2 grid allows longer items but stays narrow, so you get different spawn patterns compared to the square boxes.



Key differences in the 5x2 loot pool:

• Throwables (F-1, M67, RGD-5 grenades)
  
• Medical supplies (AFAK, IFAK, Grizzly kits, injectors)
  
• Full weapons that fit the 5x2 dimensions
  
• Complete weapon systems with all major parts
  
• Extended magazines and larger capacity drums

Medical spawns make 5x2 boxes worth checking even late raid. Stims like SJ6, Propital, and combat injectors appear frequently enough that speed runners target these specifically. The throwables aren't just grenades either. You'll find signal flares and special rounds that quest runners need.

Now we're talking actual firepower. The 5x5 grid spawns complete assault rifles, battle rifles, and marksman weapons. This is where the value jumps significantly.



What separates 5x5 boxes:

• Full assault rifles (AK variants, M4s, HK416s, SCARs)
  
• Battle rifles (FAL, M14, G36)
  
• DMRs and sniper systems
  
• Complete armor sets (class 4-6 body armor, helmets with face shields)
  
• Tactical rigs with high capacity
  
• Backpacks
  
• Electronics and valuable barter items

The spawn rate for kitted weapons is noticeable. You're not getting stock guns. Many spawns include suppressors, upgraded handguards, and premium optics already attached. A single 5x5 pull can net 200k+ if the RNG favors modded out meta builds.

The largest standard weapon boxes on Customs. These spawn the full spectrum, including weapons that need that extra grid space.



The 6x3 boxes drop everything from smaller boxes plus:

• Long barrel sniper rifles (DVL-10, M700, ORSIS, SV-98, Mosin variants)
  
• Bolt action systems with extended barrels
  
• Shotguns with full length configurations (MP-153, M870, Saiga-12)
  
• Large caliber weapons (.338 Lapua, 7.62x54R platforms)
  
• Complete loadouts including the heavy stuff

These boxes have the highest ceiling for single item value. A suppressed DVL-10 or a fully built M700 chassis system can appear. The 6x3 dimensions allow grenade launchers, marksman rifles with 20+ inch barrels, and special weapons that don't fit anywhere else.

Now for the actual spots. Customs weapon boxes cluster around specific high traffic zones, but there are some overlooked spawns that stay unlooted well into raids.

The Guard Desk room in two story dorms (requires Guard Desk Key) holds a guaranteed weapon box spawn. It sits next to a weapon rack and two wooden ammo boxes. This room sees heavy action early raid because of Reshala spawns, but if you can get in during the mid game lull, the weapon box often stays untouched.
Room 204 in three story dorms has a weapons locker (not a box, but related loot). Worth checking if you're running dorms keys.
Various rooms in three story have weapon mod spawns on floors and furniture, but these are loose spawns rather than containers.

The gas station office (requires key) spawns a weapon box along with cash registers and medical supplies. Reshala can spawn here, which makes this location dangerous but potentially very profitable. The weapon box sits near the office desk area.
Outside the station, scattered weapon mod spawns appear on crates and near the fuel pumps, but no containers.

Inside the large unfinished building, weapon boxes spawn on the scaffolding levels. Two boxes typically appear here on the metal framework. This is a popular sniper spot, so approach carefully.

The construction area weapon boxes lean toward the 5x2 and 4x4 varieties based on community reports, but 5x5 boxes appear occasionally.

The locked room in this area (requires Factory Exit Key) contains a weapon box spawn. This location is in the far eastern section of Customs near the extract zones.
The Factory Exit Key unlocks multiple locations, making it one of the best value keys for weapon box farming routes.

The checkpoint building (requires Checkpoint Key) has a weapon rack and multiple ammo boxes. While not a weapon box container specifically, the weapon rack functions similarly with guaranteed weapon spawns.

Inside the bunker near the extract, there's a weapon locker and loose loot. The weapon locker spawns complete weapons similar to boxes.

The warehouse section near the shipping yard has scattered weapon box spawns in various storage buildings. These move around slightly patch to patch, but checking warehouse interiors usually yields at least one or two boxes per raid.

This location north of the gas station has weapon spawns and boxes scattered throughout. Check upstairs on scaffolding.
