Classical hanseatic merchant house, known from Lübeck, Rostock, Stralsund, Gdansk all the way go Riga and beyond.

The gabled way of building them was very popular in Baroque and Gothic architecture - for those who could afford such majesty.

Too beautiful to get razed, only the imperialist world wars would threaten them. With the victory of the revolution - and the fat cats running westwards - we can invite foremen & professors alike into our little seaside villas.

Our live example is placed right at lovely Rostock's university square, at Kröpeliner Straße 27, the old towns shopping and merchant alley. Funnily enough, just on the other side of the plaza the author used to plop Sternburg beers with Rostocks post-DDR Lumpenproletariat.

Update 30.11.

It should now finally appear correctly in the residential section. $TYPE_CIVIL must be meant for city halls

I've looked at the code setup and it's missing "$TYPE_LIVING" I believe, which confuses the game.

I don't know if this is a me-issue only, but the game doesn't register it as a residential house. When building it, it displays "20 passenger capacity" instead of residents and people can't live there. The mod menu itself doesn't display it under "residential" but instead a new, blank " " category. I'll write again if this was indeed a client side issue alone.

I'm not sure, I usually think of it in terms of when and where you expect people to build it and how hard it should be to build. Steel is the biggest issue, as coal is cheap to make bricks and wood is basically free, so steel is the limiting factor when I decide what and how much to build early game.

yeah i still need to change that. But i have little idea what a reasonable amount of bricks & wood for it would be. Maybe a bit of concrete as cement?

Feel more than free to give me some numbers! Otherwise ill have to look for reference buildings - that are not having auto-generated costs. Not that easy.

Auto generation often adds a lot of steel and concrete costs that don't fit old buildings, do you like the current in game resource costs for the building?
