TLDR
  • Finish every Gunsmith quest from Mechanic and turn in Gunsmith - Part 25 to unlock Jack of All Trades and the Small tiles floor style in your Hideout.
  • Plan for it early: level your character, traders, and Hideout with Gunsmith parts in mind so the later weapon builds, especially the PKP machine gun, do not choke your economy.
  • For Part 25, kill Kaban on Streets of Tarkov for the PKP, then mod it to meet the exact Zenitco, recoil, ergo, and magazine requirements before handing it to Mechanic.
How to Get the Jack of All Trades Achievement on Escape From Tarkov
But first you need to know what the game is actually asking you for. Jack of All Trades is a rare Escape From Tarkov achievement that unlocks when you finish every single task in Mechanic's Gunsmith series. Right now, in the current Tarkov build with achievements active, it triggers when you complete Gunsmith - Part 25, which is the PKP Pecheneg build. When that last gun is handed over successfully, you also unlock the Small tiles Hideout floor style that is tied directly to this achievement, so it is both a profile flex and a Hideout cosmetic in one.

And you start way earlier than that. You unlock Mechanic and pick up Gunsmith - Part 1 around level 2, where he makes you modify an MP-133 shotgun to very specific stats. That is the moment you should decide you are in for the whole chain. Treat every Gunsmith task - from that basic MP-133 all the way up - as one long project. Use the Gunsmith list on the wiki to see which parts and trader loyalty levels you will need, so you are not surprised by a build that suddenly asks for items locked behind Mechanic level 3 or Skier level 3.

From Gunsmith - Part 1 through the mid and late parts, your main job is learning how Mechanic thinks. Every quest gives you a base weapon, exact thresholds for ergonomics and recoil, and a set of required attachments. You build in the modding screen until all the conditions go green, which quietly teaches you how Escape From Tarkov handles weapon stats, trader inventories, and flea market prices. As you move into builds like the AKS-74N, P226R, and the high level M4A1s, the quests expect a developed account with a stronger Hideout and a bit of ruble cushion, but they also pay you back with better weapon access and high value mods so the grind does not feel pointless.

And then there is Gunsmith - Part 25, the one that actually flips Jack of All Trades. Mechanic wants a PKP machine gun built into a strict Zenitco-focused configuration, with specific furniture and performance numbers, and the game will reject the gun if any detail is off. The PKP itself only comes from killing Kaban on the Streets of Tarkov, so you must commit to boss farming with solid mid to late game kits. Once you finally have the PKP, follow the Parts 25 checklist carefully, remove the bipod, make sure ergonomics, recoil, and durability all hit the required values, then hand it in - that is when you get the Jack of All Trades achievement and the Small tiles floor your Hideout quietly shows off.
