Quick Tips for the Beyliks
This is for if your time is short and you want a good introduction to the system without having to read more about it.

1) Keep the Eastern Romans alive for as long as you want for tribute, you will be able to use your legitimacy to force the Byzantines to give you Ducats, Legitimacy and Integration Speed, or Courtiers.

2) Build Bey Fortress wherever, whenever possible. This is REALLY important that the game does not let you know is a source of a whopping +10 Monthly Manpower. For Ottobros, build this baby in Bursa and you can triple your standard army.

3) Wait for the Earthquake in 1354 before performing your expansion into the Balkans. If you did what I did which is to invade before it triggers, you don't get the special events that come for the Turks after they invade.

4) Expand into the Balkans via your Parliament Casus Belli to unlock the Balkan Press Claims action. This will allow you to continue snowballing faster than other nations.

5)It is better to vassal swarm early on. Early game you will need to conquer fast but make sure you just release vassals or make your enemies your vassals.
5a) Ottobros: Ankara should be fine to snag from Ahis and you will want to build a road and ensure that you have a Bey Fortress here, though it won't be as effective unlike Izmit and Bursa.

That's all I have for the Rise of the Turks Situation. The next page is general tips I find useful for any country but helpful for the Turks especially.
General Things to Remember for the Beys
  • Crown Power at 25% is most important. Think crown land ownership from EU4 at 30% minimum
  • Place your Ruler in your Army always to get more Crown Power.
  • Zimmis are your boys, you want to give them some power because their max tax is not reduced by it (avoid giving them the privs that reduce max tax ofc :] )
  • Clergy are your researchers, you need Clergy to be happy.
  • Control (eu4) is also affected by pop satisfaction, so taxing commoners (and other estates) less can help raise control.
  • Before 1345, you will want to amass a war chest by bullying your neighbors. This chest is for the Black Death and you will want to save as many pops as possible. When you do this, you will be able to have an advantage later in the game.
  • Vassal Swarming is good. (Yes it's that important that it needs to be said twice)
  • Use the Divan to change the laws. Don't use your stability please, this is a noob trap.
