How to Get the Ad Hominem Homicide Achievement in The Outer Worlds 2 (2025 UPDATED)
由 GigaGamer47 和其他 3 人合作完成
The Popup Gun turns corporate advertising into a weapon, and honestly? It's one of the more creative tools Obsidian threw into this game. But you'll need 10 confirmed kills on enemies who are actively distracted by its Ad Drones to unlock this achievement.

TLDR
  • Purchase the Popup Gun from the Arms Merchant on the ACS Undisputed Claim for 16,500 credits.

  • Deploy Ad Drones near hostile enemies to taunt them, then eliminate the distracted targets while they're attacking the drones.

  • Repeat this process 10 times across any enemy type to unlock Ad Hominem Homicide.

How to Get the Ad Hominem Homicide Achievement in The Outer Worlds 2
First things first, you need to get your hands on the Popup Gun itself. Head to the ACS Undisputed Claim and make your way to the Value Added Esplanade. The Arms Merchant you're looking for is positioned south of the Head Office Tower fast-travel point, which makes it pretty easy to locate if you've already unlocked that travel marker. The weapon costs 16,500 credits, so make sure you've got enough bits saved up before making the trip.

Once you've purchased the Popup Gun, the actual achievement process is straightforward but requires some patience. The weapon fires Ad Drones that project holographic advertisements into the battlefield. These aren't your typical explosives or damage dealers. They function purely as distraction tools that aggressively taunt nearby hostiles.

Here's where technique matters. You want to fire the Ad Drones into the ground near an enemy, not directly at them. This is important because the drones need to deploy properly to start their taunting behavior. When fired correctly, they'll pop up and immediately begin drawing aggro from nearby enemies. You'll know it's working when enemies start redirecting their attacks toward the drones instead of you or your companions.

Wait for the enemy to actually engage with the drone. They need to be actively attacking it. Then eliminate that enemy while they're still distracted. That counts as one toward your total. Rinse and repeat nine more times.

Any enemy type works for this, which gives you flexibility. Marauders, wildlife, corporate security, doesn't matter. Just make sure they're already hostile before you deploy the drones, since passive NPCs won't react to the taunting mechanic. Some players like to farm this in high-density areas like the outskirts of settlements where you've got consistent enemy spawns without having to travel around.

The achievement pops after your tenth successful kill. If you're doing a completionist run anyway, you'll probably knock this out naturally just by experimenting with the weapon's mechanics.
Optional Trainer Helpers (Use Responsibly)
  • God Mode - Keeps you alive while testing drone placements in dangerous combat zones.

  • Infinite Ammo - Lets you spam Ad Drones without worrying about reloading or running dry on shots.

  • No Reload - Eliminates downtime between deployments so you can chain multiple drone setups back-to-back.
