No matter how many places I look, and comments I look at, nothing about him is confirmed as a visitor or human sign aside from his photo. We know he can be both, but there's been a rumor circulating about his initial dialogue at the door, and either I'm getting really unlucky at the door (like every run I try), or it just isn't true that his dialogue changes based on whether he's a human or a visitor. I get him a lot for some reason, so I want to test him more in general.

I want to keep testing him and looking into what he is, though, so this will be updated with things I can find provable/if anything comes to light. If anyone else has any input as well, feel free to share. He's the only one that still vexes me, lol.

The only sign we know for a fact about the Gravedigger is his photo. If it appears like a normal aura photo, he is a human, but if it looks like he has shadows of people behind him, he is in fact a visitor. It is incredibly unusual for a character to only have one tell, as others that have very few visible tells at least have something else in the form of the dialogue when they are inspected (Armchair Lawyer, Homeless Guy).

Gravedigger is supposedly the only one instance of having only one tell at all, and that feels suspicious to me.

I read a comment from someone saying that he sits in a different place in the office depending on whether he is a human or a visitor. At first, I wanted to discredit this, but if you look on his wiki page, it shows him sitting underneath the fan in the office (with the dresser in the background). According to this person, the gravedigger will sit underneath the fan if he is a human, and if he is a visitor, he will sit at the coffee table. However, the wiki says the only people that change with him/won't come in when he's in are the ones that sit at the coffee table. I don't know if this is true or if it should be taken with a grain of salt, given that the wiki is not complete either, and the game is so newly out that we just don't know everything in general.

Pulled from the Wiki[no-i-am-not-a-human.fandom.com], you can see that his sitting place is actually underneath the fan, because the distinctive dresser rings are visible in the background.

However, every time that I have had him in my house (granted, he has in fact been a visitor every time. My sample size is very small for this though, because of the next section I will get into), he actually sits next to the coffee table, much like where Stand-Up Guy and FEMA Wife sit.

It's possible that his positioning has changed from the demo or something like that, and that he only sits next to the coffee table now, but I am not certain of this, and I have not been able to test it well enough on my own yet.

If you have any experiences on where the Gravedigger has been sitting, or if it has been interchangeable, please let me know.

As far as I know, this section is only a rumor. I have not seen anyone able to confirm this as a fact, and it is not on the wiki. Please take this with a grain of salt.

Supposedly, when the Gravedigger comes to your house, in the beginning intro dialogue, if you click the leftmost dialogue option [insert image here, when I can get it again], the Gravedigger will begin to talk about how he was made to dig up a grave by some guy, and that a Visitor sprouted up from the grave, hand-first.
According to the rumor, if this happens, the Gravedigger is a visitor, but if he says the grave was instead empty, he is a human. Because I kept only getting the first dialogue option, I would repeatedly never let him in, but I have gotten the Gravedigger so many times (I am currently save scumming for the Schoolteacher, achievement hunting and all that), and I have never seen a shred of evidence that he is even capable of saying that the grave is empty.
This is also completely out of line for any other person that can be visitor or human, as none of them share this supposed trait, so I am of the thought process that this rumor is actually false. If anyone would like to provide screenshots of an alternative dialogue, I'd be happy to look at them.

As it stands, I am going to keep letting him in for now, and checking him with the only trait we know to be provable - aura photography.
