How to find which addon is replacing your spray

A guide on how to figure out which of your addons is replacing your spray, Causing it to not be your desired/chosen spray image, At least what has worked for me, I didnt see any other guides about this method that works for me and doesn't have the manual labor of disabling every addon one at a time, so hopefully this can help

Ever have this issue where in-game your spray gets replaced with something that ISN'T your spray despite having it set to something else?




Well, hopefully this short guide can help fix that in as little steps as possible!
The guide (Short and simple)
First, Open your console by pressing "~", you should know how this works if you're playing garry's mod

Now, type this command in:
whereis materials/vgui/logos/spray.vtf

This should give you the problematic addon's name and workshop ID.


The next step should be as simple as disabling/uninstalling the addon and reloading!

Oh! i was originally going to have it use the command "mat_texture_list 1" with extra steps before i just figured out how to do it directly, that command is very useful for finding all textures, and works for finding the spray texture also, it has a "whereis" print button, little bonus i suppose!

whereis also works with models and the textures of the models if you have some random map replacing them for example!

whereis is very good for finding that info! 😄
