@Aezecher I was stuck on 35 beavers for like 7 or 8 cycles until I got sluices and ziplines and cleared the top area of badtides. I was limited by food but it's mostly because I didn't expand enough I think.
I used the corner of the map where there is the small stream that you can easily shunt at the top during badtides. So it makes a nice place to keep clear water for few days and cultivate. In addition, it's a way to access the 'up there'!
I didn't use the water dump, but I'm glad to see there are different ways to make it through this map!

@Flap : how much is 'not too many', I'm curious about the ideal size of your colony?
I'm currently playing it on hard. I rushed the water dump tech and moved to the center island. Crops and trees survive even 15 days badtides, you just need enough water storage and not too many beavers.
