More Religious Tenet Slots Updated to 1.18, fixed a lot of the original issues, mostly adding in missing tenets since the mods a bit aged at this point, tried to fix the bugs with the faith creation, but thats limited to something thats visual, and will not affect you in the slightest, so I decided to release it after trying to figure it out for 2 hours

Added a button to flip the tenets so you don't have to scroll all the way down to remove them anymore!



Original Mod

Original Description

Added more doctrine (tenets) when forming new faith (any number of doctrines from 0 to 20). Included "blank slot" if player would like to use less than max 20 doctrines.
Not used slots are removed on faith creation (to make it nicer to display)

I've adjusted GUI so it should display any number of doctrines in faith and faith creation windows. Adjusted sins/virtues to display more values.

* In theory AI can also use up to 20 slots, but at least in my saves it uses only 3.
* Cost is unchanged.
* Allowed few already available doctrines to be used by other faiths, but for massive piety cost. So you can make religion more like you want it.

Editing the gui files is more tricky, because both overhaul mods are using game version 1.17 and the 1.18 patch made significant changes to these files.
As far as I can see, tyrannys version is still using game version 1.17 too, but the changes necessary for more tenets slots aren’t marked in his gui files, whereas I’ve done so. So, take a look in my version of these files, might be helpful.

In the window_faith.gui file you‛ll have to add some ‚layoutpolicy_horizontal = expanding‛ resp. ‚layoutpolicy_vertical = expanding‛ lines and the changes made to the vbox labeled ‚### Core Tenets‛.
In the window_faith_creation.gui file the relevant changes are made in the vbox labeled ‚### Doctrine selection‛. There are also a few changes to size and spacing definitions. You’ll have to try out which values are fitting.

The first step for creating your compatibility patch is quite easy: You just have to add the „Empty Tenets‟ from the rt_core_tenets.txt file (if you‛re using tyrannys version of ‚More Religion Tenets Slots‛) or the xxx_mts_core_tenets.txt file (if you‛re using the version, I do maintain) to the core_tenets.txt file the overhaul mod is using. You also have to set the value for ‚number_of_picks‛ up to 23 resp. 20.

@Sqzzy Firstly I recommend using an editor, which can display 2 files side by side and compare those files. Personally I‛m using Visual Studio Code, which is quite common and offers a lot of useful addons. You’ll find a list with alternatives at the Modding-Section of the CK3 Wiki [ck3.paradoxwikis.com].

For a compatibility patch, you’ll have to create the following files:
- \common\religion\doctrines\00_core_tenets.txt
- \gui\window_faith.gui
- \gui\window_faith_creation.gui

The original files you’ll find in your Steam installation folder, usually
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III\game\ .
The files of the overhaul mods you want to patch, are usually located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\ .
The files for Elder Kings 2 are in the folder „2887120253‟, After the End files are in „3192256710‟.

@Holger My modding knowledge is limited to creating cultures, herritages, languages and traditions (Mostly just mergers of existing ones) How do i find the said files and make a compatch?

@Sqzzy It ought to be possible. I myself made a compatch for EK2 some years ago. It just depends on the changes the modders have made to the window_faith.gui and the window_faith creation.gui files.

I assume it does not work with total overhauls. Is it possible you can make a compatch for EK2 and ATE?

@ (嗜杀本性)狼队 女 梅 I don't think, this mod will corrupt any saves. The files provided by this mod arn't written into the save, just the name of the new tenet you've selected.
At the moment there are 2 versions of the original mod available at the workshop, this version maintained by Tyrannys and the version I do maintain. Further informations you'll find in the description of my version.
