When I first started creating PBR textures in Substance Designer, I was living in Japan, and my first choice was to explore traditional Japanese textile patterns. I chose some of the most common ones, like Seigaiha, Yagasuri, Kikkō, Shippo, and Kanoko, among others. Over the years, I’ve worked on several personal projects inspired by Japanese culture, and I felt it was time to revisit those first textures I ever made.
I always try to find simple and elegant solutions for the skins I create here for the Workshop, and I hope you enjoy the result of this collection using these Japanese textile-inspired PBR textures.
