In the early 2010s the French railways were in desperate need for some new, regional MUs. For this, long-standing partner Mehstro -who never ever bribed anyone- was selected to procure well over 400 Multiple Units for service in the diverse regions of France and some cross-border operations.

Mehstro wasted no time to first celebrate this order and subsequently worry about how they are going to build and deliver what is Mehstro's largest order to date. The units are based on decades of Mehstro's experience(and mistakes), making it their best package yet.

No time was wasted(excluding the various redesigns that delayed the project by multiple years) on the beautiful, friendly, and accessible exterior and interior. This coupled with state-of-the-art technology improved the quality, comfort, and duration of all travels by a significant amount.

Shortly before the planned introduction in 2015 the French railways discovered that the trains were actually too big to serve the many rural stations of France, which Mehstro quickly countered by suggesting that "they must've made the stations bigger". This scandal, together with later allegations of bribery -which Mehstro would never do and distances itself from- and Mehstro running afoul of monopolistic practices meant that the last ~150 Multiple Units would be built and supported by the Spanish FVF.
