If you downloaded this game to improve your chinese reading ability, tough luck! The dialogue might be garbled text. Here's how you fix it:

I'm on Windows 11 (my OS is not in English so the name of the buttons I mention might be different):
Go to Settings --> Time and Language --> scroll down to Related Settings --> now click something labeled like "language administration" --> on the window that pops up, click the button that says something like "change locale"--> A window should pop up that asks you what language you want to use for programs that don't support Unicode --> restart PC.

The game should display the text correctly now. According to another discussion on here, after applying this change you may experience problems with the text in other applications that you may want to use. But I suspect this is only the case if you use really old programs, since all modern applications should use unicode as the standard.
