Much like how the M48 and M103 in real life shared similar hulls, HT-17 and MT-25 are just alike, sharing the same hull, with HT-17 lengthening the hull and adding an extra road wheel to allow more internal space and more weight in the hull to carry the much larger and heavier turret, mounting a massive 120mm gun. In the turret is, mounted a powerful main cannon and mounting 2 7.62mm light machine guns in the mantlet and a roof mounted 12.7mm heavy machine gun for use against infantry and light vehicles. The 120mm gun fires primarily a full bore solid core AP shell, as well as a HEAT shell for also against light targets and defensive emplacements. The A2 variant applies the armor improvement from the B variant of HT-17 onto the smoothly crafted turret of the A variant, and the -2 version further improves the armor of the turret. The A2 variant also includes a cover over the mantlet and a wire stowage rack on the back of the turret. Overall the A2-2 variant of HT-17 is a major improvement over the initial A variant, with improved armor, optics, and aesthetics.
