Campaign Day-Night Cycle

描述
This mod adds a day-night cycle for all campaigns.

The length of day and night vary by latitude, around 3 minutes for Altdorf. The Northern Wastes are in perpetual night and the Southern Wastes are almost in perpetual daytime. Winter in the northern hemisphere.

Issues
A few problems:
  • Not compatible with campaign environment (lighting) mods. We'd be modifying the same files.
  • All environments but "default" have been removed. That makes the day/night transition more obvious. But, more importantly, there were shadow glitches for some environments. It might be solvable, but .environment files are rather opaque. (Could also be some sort of light probe issue, or some deeper shader thing, who knows).
  • The terminator (day/light line) doesn't make much sense on TOW or ROC. ROC will never make sense because of the map's projection. All campaigns use the same texture, so it can't be avoided if this is going to be a single mod.

  • Mazisky for the inspiration and the WH2 mod. Cloud shadows, genius.
  • ChaosRobie for drawing a new cloud shadow texture (actually quite tricky finding the right shape and scale).

This is a very creative mod that brings a completely new experience to the game:steamhappy:. However, it seems to have removed all weather effects.

Forget the weather map, this is good enough for IEE and we will have the real fantasy earth

it's not compatible with Campaign Weather Overhaul (includes The Old World Map), hope soon it will :D

yes turn times are way faster. my gpu was on 100% before during turn times. Now it's only busy at around 20%.

Yeah it does seem all weather is being stripped in this mod.

I think speed ups are from disabling environments, there is no more snowing in kislev for example.

Uhhh wait, really. Because I could imagine it increasing framerates (environments and blending between them might be taxing on lower-end systems). But the turn time themselve? Ehhh? :KScared:
