Hero Skill Overhaul

Highly recommend using Medium Ships for Heroes this will grant your heroes medium size ships with many extra slots and upgrades, making them feel like "real" hero level threats.

Inspired by All Hero Skills are Useful, this mod expands and reworks the hero skill trees. Every hero now gains unique land and space perks, along with personalized senate bonuses for more meaningful progression.

Features
  • Expanded skill trees for all heroes. Every skill includes land and space perks.

  • Rebalanced variables and fixed tooltips for clarity and stability.

Hero Classes

Guardians Elite combatants, powerful and dangerous.
Seekers High mobility, vision, and probe stock; perfect explorers and escape artists.
Administrators Manpower experts; great for sieges and deployments.
Overseers Defensive specialists; excellent at cost control and sector defense.

Faction Skill Trees

Sophons Science and shield mastery, energy weapon focus.
Hissho Heavy damage, food and industry boosts, unique behemoth perks. Buffed both planetary Keii skills.
Terrans Strong industry, balanced fleets, manpower and influence gains.
Lumeris Dust and trade specialists; massive economy scaling.
Riftborn Scale with anomalies, hero level, and CP; weak early, strong late.
Cravers Pure domination; huge FIDS at the cost of extreme depletion.
Vaulters Science, speed, and vision bonuses with solid defenses.
Horatio Growth-focused; rapid population and manpower production.
Unfallen Stoic defenders; resilient, regenerative, and system-focused.
Umbral Choir Superior hacking and system production. They have evasive fleets and can detect cloaked units.
Nakalim - They have superior planetary FIDSI and fleet accuracy / damage. They are effective at making "poor initial resource planets" good, and maintaining high output.

Is this compatible with the patchpreview? It appears to work at first, but late game things break & can only be temporarily fixed with a reload. After a certain point though, the game just breaks & either crashes or you get to a point with infinite 'end turn' or infinite 'saving game'.

The Sophon hero skills that reduce technology, hero skills which deal with manpower, and fidsi additions based around curiosities seem to be what is breaking the game.

I am having issues with the imperial hero skill tree. I am unable to assign skills if the hero is assigned to a planet once I get to the final skill tier (the noise for the apply skills button works, but the skill points are never spent). I think it may have something to do with the industrial reciprocity and volley discipline skills, as those are the 2 that I can most consistently reproduce this bug. I tested it by loading a new save and using god cursor to level the hero ~20 times, and was able to reproduce this bug. If you level the skills and then assign the hero to the planet, the game crashes when hovering your fidsi output, so It may be like an infinite loop from the conversions in the skills, but I am not a programmer so no clue if I am remotely close to correct. Overall cool mod. I like the heroes being more impactful.

The Skill doesn't seem to matter it appears to be random. I'm playing V1.5.60

I've played with other hero related mods on and played it with them removed, the game keeps crashing usually after 170 turns. I have placed this mod last on the load order as well and still running into the crash isssue. This mod is awesome but I won't be able to use it.

I have played with this mod multiple times trying to see if I can solve the issue but no luck.

My game keeps crashing from this mod, I'm on turn 263 and it only crashes when I attempted to assign a point to one of my hero's. I think it also causes other problems like sometimes I try to build stuff or assign points to other hero's and nothing happens.

I wouldnt know how to make that work since they all have land / space effects. So you couldnt colorize them based on that. You can view the documents anytime its all open source.

The icons as itself are not so important. But the colours of different skills like in Useful Skill Colours mod are. I may help you with that, if you have some doc about the changes.
