Like really hard to take cities and very very long sieges.
For now i think is pretty balanced, the only thing maybe that little increase for armies.
(I would say, any change be made through a new mod, so people who really likes this version can keep it, and people who maybe want the increased cost or the lowered cost for defenders have their own mods)
Yo, i'm glad to see another Europa Universalis and Crusader Kings player! :)
Don't you worry buddy! Enjoy life bro!
I'm also expectant of EU5 and the newest CK3 DLC, more of EU5 to be fair, because i'm more stuck on CK2 than CK3, is hard for me to evolve lol.
I might also add a bonus to garrison size and increase the upkeep cost in grain (for the attacking army, of course). For defenders, I might lower the costs instead.
But probably not right now - Europa Universalis V and the new CK3 DLC are coming out, so I’ll likely focus on those for a while. I’ll get back to this when I have some free time.
Maybe it can be 3? or 4 as highest! 5 is like too high, with 2 as is right now is pretty good, but when you have a big country is not that big issue.
I believe 5 is like impossible, i would say maybe 3 as maximum, try how it feels and in worst case 4, but 3 i believe is the sweetspot.
For now the 2 is really good, really! At first is powerful but fair, and as you get bigger and bigger ends up being like too cheap, i can have three armies of feudal knights with doble additional troops and don't suffer at all. (Portuguese Colonial Empire run, i dedicate africa to produce food mostly)
I would say increase it from 2 to 3? 4 at maximum, but i think 3 is good, to keep the big blobs from using it that easier.
I could increase the upkeep cost from 2 to 5 (but then it would be very expensive in terms of maintenance).
However, I’m open to the idea and could create different versions of it :)
That’s why I could make another mod that deals with what I mentioned above — but only if this comment gets at least 3 awards here. (Just to make sure you’re not the only person who would want it.)
It depends on what you mean by “easy.”
In this mod, no complaints about bad balance have been reported yet, but if you think that lowering the army’s grain upkeep would make the game easier, you’re wrong :)
The problem is that the mod increases the number of troops (but this modifier applies only to attacking armies) — which means that if I lowered the grain upkeep for that modifier, I would have to significantly increase the number of garrison troops, or lower the grain upkeep both for that modifier and remove the grain upkeep for garrison troops.
The idea of increase the upkeep is wonderful!
Really good for balance! But maybe some users prefer this version ("easy mode"), maybe it would be cool if there was a side mod with such characteristic of higher grain upkeep.
