No penalty nor bonus if both characters have the same sign. In game during combat, the indicator next to the accuracy will show 100%.
I'm a bit confused on how to interpret these bonuses if both characters are of the same sign
Gender might not play into it anymore (hopefully, since that would simplify things).
They should either make it clear ganders also play a very important role in the zodiac signs or simplify the system by making only the sign itself matter no matter the gander of the Unit. Guess they needed to make it super secret "for the modern audience"
I can't be 100% sure before finishing the game, but I would just go with body type for generic-looking units as equivalent to the older version. It doesn't state gender specifically but from what I can see so far (after finishing chapter 1), the damage bonuses still seem to apply.
