When Hudson Motor cars and Nash-Kelvinator merged in 1954 to form AMC it was, at the time, the largest corporate merger in U.S. history. Their marketing strategy as well as build strategy was to combine all product lines into one. Hudson's and Nash's were both sold but they were virtually the same make and model car besides some trim or interior choices, just with different names. You could buy a Nash or a Hudson and be getting the exact same car. With sales of their larger cars declining AMC began to focus on smaller cars, the Rambler mostly but they also had another small car.

While technically designed and built in England and Europe as well as built first under the Nash nameplate, it was marketed as an American Car. It was designed to be the 'second car' of the family, for mom to take out. Making it one of the first postwar cars to be marketed directly to women. Many journalist praised the cars handling and style, as well as some putting the car through the ringer to test its limits. It proved quite well. Got good gas mileage. The only downside was the lack of a rear trunk, which it would get in later models. In total just under 95,000 were built and sold.

I have decided to create a patreon for certain vehicles, as well as posting updates on what will be coming next. Please go check it out, as well as support if you are able to, remember nothing is mandatory as most vehicles will still be coming to the workshop. Check it out HERE. [www.patreon.com] Thank you.

I used to see these on the streets when I was young; I don't even see them at car shows now. It'll be nice to see them once again.
