A mirror of the same guide I wrote for the Tower Unite forums on how to setup the Potted Carnivorous Plant from the Ghoulcery Store to play an internet radio stream in Stream Mode.

Preamble
So if you did not not know already, you can buy a Potted Carnivorous Plant from The Ghoulcery Store[towerunite.wiki.gg] for 25 Ghoul Coins. This is a media player that can play Workshop Sounds and includes a Stream Mode which can play Internet Radio streams that utilize programs like Shoutcast and Icecast.

This will only be a guide on getting it to play streams from a specific site, this is not an advanced guide for setting up your own Internet Radio Stream. Do also note that mileage may vary and I am only using one site that I found has worked for this purpose.
Instructions
Edit: Found another site that can be used, Radio Browser[www.radio-browser.info], though the way of getting links is by clicking on a radio you want to use and scrolling down to and copying the "Server url"

First off, go to Internet Radio[www.internet-radio.com] and find a station for a genre you like. For this guide I’ve found a random techno station called C-Dance RETRO as in the screenshot below.

On the left side, of the list next to the name and other information, you will see a play button, 2 file formats for streaming and popup. You will need to click popup, or open it in a new tab if you do not have popups enabled.

At the top of the popup window or in the new tab, there will be a URL, it’ll say something like http://player.internet-radio.com/?server=http://198.100.145.187:18304.

For the radio to work, we need the latter half, specifically http://198.100.145.187:18304. Switch Stream Mode to ON in your Potted Carnivorous Plant, and paste that link.

Note that some links may look different, I tried others like uk4.internet-radio.com:8049 which did not work. Fortunately, some may work if you add an http:// in front of them, for example http://uk4.internet-radio.com:8049 does work.

I will not make a list of all that does and doesn’t work, that’ll be up to you to find. Just remember to only include what comes after the ?server= part of the http://player.internet-radio.com/ link.

Enjoy your internet radio streams!
For those who care
The reason I think this works the way it does is normally you’d have a button attached that will tell the stream to start playing, like a Youtube video, or in Tower Unite, you have turn the TV on. The plant is not made with those in mind, or the website where some stream is hosted, there’s nothing telling it to start playing the stream, so we have to use direct links. It’s a limitation of the code and I’ve found this is the only way to get it to work.
