Apositae (c. 2600 BCE - 1436 CE) is generally regarded as a collection of numerous states spanning the northern and southern parts of the Divene Continent (which corresponds to "Europe" in modern understanding). This system of scattered states was established by Pluhatos·Leonheart (476 CE - 533 CE), known as the "Lion King" and the most influential ruler of Apositae. Relying on his highly mobile cavalry unit called the "Lionhorse," he integrated the surrounding tribes and city-states through a combination of grace and might, founding The United Kingdom of Apositae (498 CE - 976 CE) and implementing the feudal lord-vassal system within the kingdom. After the establishment of the kingdom, the territory of Apositae was truly defined, laying the foundation for the entire territorial scope of Apositae in the following years.In the early days of the kingdom, the king had almost no fixed residence. Instead, he adopted a "mobile administration" approach, constantly traveling around the various states to maintain the newly established rule.

After "Lion King" Pluhatos passed away in 533 AD, his eldest son, Liutprand·Leonheart, succeeded to the throne and maintained the core framework of the feudal lord-vassal system. By revising the Lord's Oath, Liutprand clarified the vassals' obligation of military allegiance to the royal family and the royal family's commitment to protecting fiefdoms—this not only consolidated central authority but also preserved the autonomous space of the various states.During this period, united markets emerged in the capitals of all states. Leveraging the tradition of "free trade", the cross-state circulation of grain, ironware, and textiles grew increasingly frequent. This not only enriched the royal treasury but also turned cities such as Lional and Pluhatosen into key commercial and trade hubs in northern Divene Continent.Militarily, the Lion Guards and the Lion Praetorians—elite forces directly under the royal family's control—were often dispatched to conflict zones to mediate disputes between vassals. Their trait of "adjacent coordinated combat" became a vital force in upholding internal stability.

At the end of the 8th century AD, King Eirduino, in response to sporadic raids by nomadic tribes in the south, integrated the Lord's Oath with the customs of various states. Eventually, in 800 AD, Massimiliano·Ostic, the Chief Justice of the state, promulgated the Public Law of the United Kingdom and established a cross-state cavalry united defense system—under this system, each vassal was required to provide a fixed number of Lionhorse based on the size of their fiefdoms, with their own military expenses covered. This further enhanced the mobility advantage of the Lionhorse, which was uniformly deployed by the royal family. This system enabled Apositae to effectively consolidate its southern borders.In addition, centered on the core of "clarifying duties and defining entitlements", the Public Law of the United Kingdom not only standardized the amount of taxes and labor that vassals could impose on commoners but also defined commoners' trading rights in united markets, greatly reducing conflicts within the kingdom. However, afterward, all subsequent kings of Apositae had to find ways to make the leaders of the numerous vassal states under their rule accept the enormous military expenditures. It was clear that the cracks in the feudal lord-vassal system had begun to take shape.

Since the mid-to-late 9th century, Apositae had gradually fallen into division. Various states broke away, seized territories, and waged wars against one another. Eventually, a situation emerged where ten powerful major states stood in sharp confrontation. Among them, Klebitz, ruled by Waffes·Leonrosa, was the state with the strongest military power.Subsequently, between 966 and 976 AD, Waffes successively conquered Cheryverse and Headariq. Later, by forming a marriage alliance with the Aristotle family and allying with Grifera—ruled by his nephew Kaer "the Fearless"—he basically occupied half of Apositae's territory. Following this, he joined forces with Kaer to defeat the main army of Joshvard, then marched his troops directly to Joshvard's royal capital and took control of the state.Facing the alliance between Ostic and Podlazer, Waffes mobilized massive human and material resources. After a year of warfare, he and Kaer finally launched a two-front offensive in 975 and conquered these two states.As most of the states in the country came under Waffes' control, Lional—ruled by the former royal family—announced its surrender. Soon after, Taxweed on the western border also declared its support for Waffes' cause of unification. In this way, Waffes finally achieved unification through military force in 976.After ascending to the imperial throne, Waffes pioneered the "State-Directly Governed Territory Parallel System" in Apositae: the areas surrounding the capital were enfeoffed states, and further outward were directly governed territories (where "Governance Councils" were established at the local level). At the central level, he established the imperial system, under which was the Three-Estate Assembly directly accountable to the emperor (consisting of royal clan members, military generals, and popular representatives elected by commoners, knights, and clergymen).From this point onward, The United Kingdom of Apositae became a thing of the past, and Apositae officially entered the era of a grand unified empire.
