Introduction
Silent Hill F 100% Achievement Guide
Silent Hill F is a survival horror game with 56 steam achievements.

This guide contains several spoilers. If you haven’t finished the story yet, keep this in mind before reading further.

This guide is a work in progress, If you notice any errors, please let me know.

Runs
Run 0: Story Achievements - Normal ending - (optional: Missable - Collectible)
Play through the game once just to enjoy the story and get a feel of gameplay mechanics.
This will unlock several story achievements and the first ending: Coming Home to Roost.

Notes
  • The Bird that Flies Highest missable achievement can only be unlocked during this ending.
  • Some documents can only be retrieved on the first playthrough (non NG+) while other are only available in NG+1 and NG+2, if you're aiming to complete Fires of Jealousy and A Miko Possessed without having to redo additional runs, check out the Worship Hall sections.

Run 1 - NG+ - Missable - Collectible - Good, Bad and UFO endings
In NG+ select a different puzzle difficulty than your first run to progress toward challenge achievements.
Note that some missable achievements are tied to combat and may require multiple attempts. While Run 2 features the longest boss fights, your stats will likely be fully upgraded by then, so it could be wise to select a lower action difficulty if you prefer a less challenging run 1.

Use saves at key points to unlock three of the five endings in the same run: The Fox Wets Its Tail, Fox’s Wedding, and The Great Space Invasion!

Key save points:
  • Just after the cutscene near the Chizuruya General Store while heading to Shu's house -> Reach The Great Space Invasion! then load back to continue your run. (see ending notes about missing a bonus weapon)
  • While heading to Shimizu Residence, make a save before purifying the Sacred Sword -> Complete The Fox Wets Its Tail, then load back, purify the Sacred Sword and finish the game with the Fox's Wedding ending.

Note:
  • Guidance is provided to unlock several ending within the "same" run. Given how Silent Hill’s saving system tracks which endings you’ve reached, this means that on your final save after Run 2, you may be missing either The Fox Wets Its Tail or Fox’s Wedding and The Great Space Invasion! endings, even if the related achievements are unlocked.
This may cause some content, like the PP-8001 (unlockable in any NG+ after completing The Great Space Invasion! ending), to be unavailable. If this is a concern, you can restart Run 1 after reaching the UFO ending (which occurs early, before Ebisugaoka Middle School) and skip the collectibles on that first UFO run.

Run 2: NG+2 - Missable - Challenges - True Ending
In NG+2, select both puzzle and fighting difficulty based on your challenge completion progress, this run will unlock the Ebisugaoka in Silence ending. During this run, you’ll have the chance to unlock certain missable achievements such as Close to the Sun and Omamori Collector.

Run 3: NG+ - Wrapping up
If missing any achievements (e.g The Bird that Flies Highest that requires Coming Home to Roost which would occurs on first playthrough

✓ Coming Home to Roost (Normal Ending)
Coming Home to Roost Drown in a bottomless pit of self-doubt.

This is the first ending you’ll unlock upon completing the game for the first time. On subsequent playthroughs, there are no special requirements to achieve this ending other than avoiding the The Great Space Invasion! ending and taking at least one red pill (to invalidate other endings).

Note that a missable achievement is tied to this ending:
The Bird that Flies Highest Defeated the Shiromuku without dying once.
✓ The Fox Wets Its Tail (Good Ending)
The Fox Wets Its Tail A hell of your own choosing. Nothing else matters, now.
There are 3 requirements for this ending
  • Must be attempted on save that already had Coming Home to Roost ending
  • Not taking any red capsules
  • Obtain the Unpurified Sacred Sword

Note that a missable achievement is tied to this ending:
Fox Tamer Defeated all the summoned monsters before putting an end to the Shichibi.

The Fox Wets Its Tail shares a few achievements with the Fox's Wedding ending (you’ll unlock them on your first attempt at either of these two endings).

Winners Don’t Do Drugs Reached the Iwai residence without taking a single capsule and left the capsules on Shu’s desk in his workshop.
The Malevolent Blade Never Rusts Obtained the Sacred Sword after uncovering its legend. Optional for Fox's Wedding

How to obtain the (Unpurified) Sacred Sword
To obtain the Sacred Sword on any NG+ playthrough, you must bring 5 offerings to Jizo Statues in Ebisugaoka.

1st offering: Faded Bride Doll
First offering can be done at the start of the game (or at the end while going back to Hinako's house if like me, you forgot to give the offering).

2nd offering: Rusted Flask
Second offering can be completed while going to Rinko's house.

3rd offering: Broken Japanese Geta Sandals
Third offering can be completed while going to Ebisugaoka Middle School.

4th offering: Cracked Hibachi Brazier
Fourth offering can be completed while going to Shu's house.

5th offering: Dad's Old Kitchen Knife
Fifth offering can be completed while going to Shimizu Residence.

Acquiring the sacred sword
Once all 5 offerings are completed, Hinako will mention going to the Divine Tree to retrieve a treasure.
A cutscene will play when approaching the Thousand Year Cedar, giving you the Sacred Sword.

Acquiring the sacred sword following prior obtention
Sacred Sword will be available at second Jizo Statue.
✓ Fox's Wedding (Bad Ending)
Fox's Wedding Dolls are happiest when they are loved.

There are 4 requirements for this ending
  • Must be attempted on save that already had Coming Home to Roost ending
  • Not taking any red capsules
  • Either purify or do not retrieve the Sacred Sword
  • Obtain the Agura no Hotei-sama
Note that a missable achievement is tied to this ending:
Puppetmaster Defeated the Tsukumogami without getting hit by a single arrow.

Fox's Wedding shares a few achievements with the The Fox Wets Its Tail ending (you’ll unlock them on your first attempt at either of these two endings).
Winners Don’t Do Drugs Reached the Iwai residence without taking a single capsule and left the capsules on Shu’s desk in his workshop.
The Malevolent Blade Never Rusts Obtained the Sacred Sword after uncovering its legend. optional for the Fox's Wedding

If you choose to acquire the Sacred Sword (optional, see The Fox Wets Its Tail section), you’ll need to purify it, which will reward you:
Be Free of Your Hatred Purified the Sacred Sword.
Obtaining the Agura no Hotei-sama will unlock:
Treasured Belonging Obtained the small vial containing the Agura no Hotei-sama.

How to purify the Sacred Sword and obtain Agura no Hotei-sama
During Main Hall, complete the Crimson Water puzzle to unlock the option to purify the Sacred Sword.
Interact with the stone near the pond, then activate the following bells in rhythm with the Shishi-odoshi (bamboo water device) as it strikes the ground:
  • Earth / Mountain (up the stairs, near the building where you can find the Agura no Hotei-sama)
  • Water (Near the rock)
  • Wood (On the bridge)
Once completed, the water will turn crimson, unlocking the option to purify the Sacred Sword later on.

Purify the Sacred Sword
If you didn't take it already, the Agura no Hotei-sama can be found upstairs (near the Earth / Mountain bell) on the table.
You'll then need to go to the destroyed shrine while heading to Shimizu Residence and interact with the Pool of Blood.

✓ The Great Space Invasion! (Special Ending)
The Great Space Invasion! Rise up! The Space Army is coming!

The Great Space Invasion! ending will end the game before Ebisugaoka Middle School . Reaching this end and not saving it to start a NG+ (i.e with the ending saved as reached on save) will lock you out a bonus weapon (PP-8001).

There are 4 requirements for this ending
  • Must be attempted on save that already had Coming Home to Roost ending
  • Listen to the UFO radio broadcast (be sure to hear it in its entirety before moving on)
  • Find 3 movie posters of The Great Space Invasion in order
  • Locate The Great Space Invasion movie review
Note that there's an opportunity for missable achievement while completing this ending:
Go away you'll ruin the Shop’s Reputation! Defeated the Giant Monster in front of Chizuruya General Store.

UFO radio broadcast
Near the start of the game, while your objective is set to Avoid the monsters and move ahead there’s a hidden UFO radio broadcast located near the canal.

3 Movie posters of The Great Space Invasion (mandatory order)
First poster can be obtained while heading towards Rinko's house (before Ara-Abare boss fight with the well)
Poster 2 and 3 are obtained while going to Shu's house after Rinko's house cutscene.
Make sure not to enter the house shortly after Rinko opens a passage through a wall as this will prevent backtracking to obtain poster 3 and access to the Chizuruya General Store.

The Great Space Invasion movie review
Once the above is completed, head to the Chizuruya General Store, where a mini-boss fight awaits. Killing all monsters in the zone will grant you the Go away you'll ruin the Shop’s Reputation! achievement.
Interacting with the flying saucer on the table outside the store after the fight will trigger The Great Space Invasion! ending.

✓ Ebisugaoka in Silence (True Ending)
Ebisugaoka in Silence We need to talk about our future.

There are 4 requirements for this ending
  • Must be attempted on save that already had 2 endings (The Great Space Invasion! does not count towards it)
  • Not taking any red capsules
  • Obtain and purify the Sacred Sword (should be available at second Jinzo Statue)
  • Offered the Brooch
Note that a missable achievement is tied to this ending:
God Slayer Defeated both the Tsukumogami and the Kyubi within 10 minutes of the fight starting.

See The Fox Wets Its Tail ending about how to retrieve and purify the Sacred Sword.

Offer the Brooch to the Jizo Statue
While on the way to the Shimizu Residence, you’ll come across a Jizo Statue where you can offer the Brooch.

@Wolfyuir for the Fox's Wedding, the sword needs to be either unobtained or purified, you also need Agura no Hotei-sama. The UFO ending does not count as a "full ending" as per requirements.

The cuckoo location is so absurd... Thanks

@Kero thank you very much. i thought it was a "bug" but actually is lore accurate xD nice dev

Thanks both, updated last Ema to NG+2 only.
x3vyx: if you gave the brooch, it prevents you from opening later seals IIRC.

Adding to the comment below, it seems that one Ema is mislabeled as NG+ when it should be NG+2. It seems to be the same one Zhnigo was talking about.
Goth Goddess 10 月 1 日 下午 6:26
Not finding the final Ema on NG+ by the ancient statue. Street is blocked off and nothing is there
Wolfyuir 10 月 1 日 上午 9:18
Also, every language aside from English says that to get the second (bad) ending, you need to not have the sword or NOT purify it. In the english translation though it says it needs to be purified. So which is true ?
Wolfyuir 10 月 1 日 上午 7:16
I was wondering, if i complete NG+ then do the UFO ending on NG+2, will the next run count as NG+3 ? Or will it still be +2 ? (Given that you only get halfway through the game)
mio 9 月 30 日 下午 11:51
Sakuko's Diary 4 seems to be obtainable in NG+, not only NG+2. I was wondering if me doing UFO ending right away affected this but it doesn't seem like it cuz the Rinko NG+2 diaries are not there
