To perform most skips you will need "Shade Soul" which can be obtained in the very early game...
note that your shade will learn to use the ability as well

To achieve anything you'll need to know how to bounce off things so unless you can do that get out and hit some spikes

Now the interesting part you must find a way to die, either to bugs or terrain won't matter. If it kills you it works!

Remember not to kill your shade just yet, first lure it into a jump that would normally require double jump or dash or other abilities, then jump on top of shade and pogo it giving you advantage.

To perform one of the most effective skips you can perform a very hard combo of: parrying your shade's attack, using it hitting you to boost yourself up, pogoing it, using shade soul, hitting it again, using shade soul again and doing last pogo. Very easy to use.
