MDK Positional Surround Sound (D3D-ONLY)
Af TehSpoopyKitteh
The purpose of this guide is to show you how to get A3D Surround Sound working in MDK. It requires that you use the D3D version of the game unless someone is willing to try and kludge a patched 3dfx exe together.

Surround Sound
1. Download the patched executable files for MDK 1.1 and copy-paste them into your MDK folder.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/mdk-patch-v11. Overwrite everything (this is important for a bonus option).

2. Go to the game's Launch Options in Steam and use the following command to launch the game using Mdka3d3d.exe (Please note that I am using the file path to the exe file for my installation in Windows as an example. Please do the same for yours):
H:\Steam\steamapps\common\MDK\Mdka3d3d.exe" %command%

3. In the Zipped files with the patched exe's, open the MISC folder and copy-paste "LOAD_0.LBB" to your game folder. Overwrite everything.

4. Go back to the zipped files and open up the "mdkfont.fti" folder in the "MISC" folder and select your language, then copy-paste the language you wish to use in your game's MISC foider, and overwrite everything.

4. Go in game and go to the in-game Sound settings menu. You should 3D Sound menu available...go into that menu and enable 3D Sound.

Congrats. You have 3D positional sound for MDK.
Bonus Option (PS1 Quality Music)
This requires vini1264's High Quality Soundtrack Mod. Remember how I had you overwrite all the exe's in MDK's main folder? The ones you downloaded are patched to have extended buffers.

1. Make a backup of all the game files.

2. When you download the mod, all you need to do is copy-paste the folder called "TRAVERSE" to your main game folder and overwrite everything. This will preserve the opening movies and sequences in the Steam version.

Boom. You now have the High Quality Mod installed.
