Cuz if someones missing a single mask shard or spool shard, well they might have to check all the possible locations again. There's no way for you to know which specific shard they missed, so there's no helping it. But tools are unique, there's no need to search ALL of the tools locations again because I can tell you exactly which ones I am missing.
The best solution would involve editing the map with specific icons... but I can't do that so I would just recommend you write "found in blank area" next to each tool. For example, "Druids Eye, 1%, found in Bone Bottom" is crazy helpful information combined with your map, means I only need to search 2 locations instead of possibly all of them.
Still very useful, I was crashing out over how hard the exploration was getting.
