The devs removed controller settings, and aim assist in 2024. The reason according to devs, "it is cheating in PC world." What I don't get is why not enable "Controller Only" server? Not all of us want to use KBM. Essentially, we're outcast into shadow realms.

I took some of the best configurations from multiple setups. I improved it, easy to memorize, and completely accessible to nearly all features. It got few awesome perks that quite close to KBM. Play in Training mode to get to know how it works.

Side note, they removed the ability to swap gadgets at ease in inventory menu. The only time I use the mouse is in Inventory menu, and Spawn Tool menu. It's quicker to build things you need than through controller. Once a blue moon, if I get to the last 10 survivors, I would dedicate my time using KBM. I won't want to hold W for 20 minutes. It's pain on the finger. That's why I play on the controller.

There are few quirks tips including two radial menus attached on Dpad. One per action menu: Combat and Vehicle.

At the Plane take off, switch to Vehicle setting. It'll give you fly abilities. If you don't switch, you'll dive straight down. If you do happen to dive straight down and still on combat setting, click left joystick. That's the shift button, run. It'll stop diving down. Once you're on the ground, switch back to Combat setting.


You can quick 180 by briefly holding A.
If you want get into ADS mode, press half way left trigger.
If you want to hold breath (steady aim) while in ADS mode, hold the left trigger after you get into ads mode. This will reduce the sensitivity by 200 percent. Don't worry, it's not that large margin. It's enough to increase accuracy and kill them at ease.

Hold left trigger fully will put you in cross hair mode and it will decrease sensitivity for increase accuracy.

if you want to change fire mode (single, burst, auto), hold Y button for a brief moment. I reduce the time to hold it. It's quick to change without compromising the use button.

When you want to stand/walk/run straight while having the ability to look around you, hold left bumper.

When you open up radial menu, then open grenade menu, it will stay open until you press the grenade button again. In more detail, use your right joystick to select the option you want. Press the grenade dpad button again. That also applies for the medical menu.

If you want open ESC menu, hold back button.
If you want open Spawn Tool Menu, press start button again. It is a cycle command.

Swimming is so niche but luckily, it has the buttons to do so. However, if you do hold button, it won't work. You have to spam clicking B for dive, and A for climb.

To change to Vehicle Action menu, press and hold right bumper.

While you're in vehicle, you can swap seats via radial menu. Dpad.
While you're in vehicle, you can aim and shoot. Press B button to get into Aim mode. Then press X to shoot.
It is not intuitive. I previously applied to left bumper however, that bumper is used for pitch when in the air. Useful for parachute and glide. It's way more intuitive. I am thinking about creating a new action menu specifically for airborne. However that would complicate further. So it is what it is.

Motor Glider: Roll, Yawning, etc may or will not work. I have not tested this.
Inventory menu Mouse Sensitivity is way too high. You can hold left trigger to reduce the sensitivity but it is still slightly high. I cannot change this. I use PC mouse in inventory menu. It's faster.

This is a personal preference and it depends on the DPI settings. This is my current setup.
