A step-by-step guide to 100% achievements in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Prypiat

Step-by-step guide from the game's start to its finale.

There are already several guides for all achievements in this game. However, I personally sometimes find that these guides lack a true step-by-step instruction, which would prevent the need to scroll up and down endlessly to cross-reference timelines.

That's why I wrote this guide (originally in Russian). I've tried to cover all key moments, indicating when to save at specific points (and you'll need to reload more than once). This translation was done at the request of player Acer0708. I hope you find it helpful!

🎗️ A Small Introduction and Let's Go!
The game has conflicting achievements. Before each such moment, I will write about saving and loading. I advise using manual saves in these cases, because "Quick Saves" via F5, with subsequent "Quick Loads" via F9, can be overwritten.


The game has achievements for difficulty. However, you can almost reach the finale on any difficulty. I will tell you when to switch it.


There aren't many guaranteed artifact spawn locations in the game, but they refresh in anomalies every 1-2 emissions. Therefore, when flying over an anomaly, poke your detector into it more often.


Throughout the game we will be collecting documents/PDA/notes. The main thing is to keep Morgan's PDA, Tachenko's PDA, and the notes from Strelok's caches until a certain moment. I will, of course, inform you about it.


If you see mutants within shooting distance, be sure to kill them. To get 300 kills, simply completing the game will not be enough.


The game has cumulative achievements; completing them is easily done through saving/loading.


Do not join any faction. If there are quests involving confrontation, it's better to avoid them. Until a certain point. I will announce it.


In the game menu there is a button called "Challenges". In this menu you can track some cumulative achievements. Check it periodically.


Well, now let's definitely start the hunt for 100% achievements!

✌️ Beginning
We watch the intro and end up in the Zone.

First thing, we go and save Petruha from the anomaly:


We get the achievement: Old Acquaintance


We take the new detector as a reward; do not throw the old one away. Equip the new one and use it to search for artifacts in this anomaly. (1/4 - Detectortive). Preemptively Save the game.

Then we head to "Skadovsk". Upon entering the ship's hull, be sure to make a manual save.
We get the achievement: Unsinkable


😨 Sultan - "A Dog's Dream"
From this moment on, it will be non-canon. As soon as "A Dog's Dream" ends, we will return to our timeline.

We go to the bandit nicknamed Sultan, talk to him and agree to help. He will direct us to a "colleague" nicknamed Knuckles. Talk to him and head out on the mission.
This will start the quest "Shakedown". While completing it, we kill stalkers and protect the bandits.


Upon returning to "Skadovsk", we report to Sultan and take the next quest.
We go to "Forestry". Here the quest "The Deal" starts.
We complete it also on the side of the bandits, protecting Knuckles's group.
We return and tell Sultan how it went.


We go to Owl (merchant on the second tier) and take the quest to deliver 3 Veles detectors.
There are several ways to get these detectors:

Go do a bunch of quests for the scientists or a bunch of quests for the stalkers.

Take the easy, but more bandit-like path.
Naturally, we choose the second one =)

We take a quest from Beard to find an artifact, make it active, and go to sleep for a day. Upon waking up, the artifact search quest should update (if it hasn't, sleep for another hour, then another, etc., until the quest updates).
A group of stalkers will appear on the map. We run to them, find them, kill them quietly and without fuss. From the leader's corpse, we pick up the 1st detector.
We repeat the procedure: take quest -> sleep -> kill -> loot detector.
It won't work a third time. Beard won't give the quest anymore (someone is killing his search groups).

We find the stalker with the callsign Grouse on "Skadovsk". We take his quest "Missing Stalkers".
We buy a few grenades (preferably F-1) from Owl.
We go to meet Grouse. At some point we will end up in a Bloodsucker lair.
After sneaking between the sleeping specimens (there are about 7-8 of them), we save the game on the stairs.
Turn around and toss grenades at the sleeping monsters. If you die - it's okay, all kills with grenades count towards another achievement.
Our task is to kill all the Bloodsucker in the lair (grenades are needed purely for the achievement and mass damage). You can use anything.
As soon as you kill everyone, a task will appear to inform Beard about clearing the lair.
Which we do without delay.
We get the 3rd Veles detector.


We tell Owl about this. And we go to the outskirts of the Jupiter factory. We are led there by the stalker Pilot, who stands behind one of the tables in the bar.
We get the achievement: Train to Yanov



We go to the marker to the scientists and give all 3 detectors to Novikov in the bunker. We return to Zaton.
We talk to Owl. For the quest to continue, we need to move away from "Skadovsk" until Owl talks to us.
We return to him, he will say that Beard is not keeping the agreement.
We talk to Beard. Then again with Owl.
When a choice appears between talking to Sultan or putting pressure on Owl, we answer that we will talk to Sultan and leave.


Sultan will ask us to find out what Beard is interested in now. This will start the chain of quests "Dark Business".
The barman will ask us to find and bring him the Compass artifact. The stalker nicknamed Noah knows about this artifact.
We run to him via the marker.
We get the achievement: Arkless



We take the artifact from Noah and give it to Sultan.
Here Sultan will tell us about the detectors that Beard gave to his search parties.
We talk to Beard, find out where his parties are. We find them, kill them, and take the detectors. We bring them to Sultan.
Now the "boss" will ask us to send greetings to Beard and say that the latter is now "a merchant who answers to the bandits".
We get the achievement: Boss


End of "A Dog's Dream".

🚢 Skadovsk
Naturally, we Load the game from just before the very first conversation with Sultan.
We have everything ahead of us here)

We take the quest to find tools for Cardan.

We ask Beard about available work. We go to investigate a strange glow.
Making our way through the ship, we equip the very first and primitive detector. While it is equipped, we take the artifact "Ship's Wheel". (2/4 - Detectortive)
At the exit, we waste the impudent liars. We bring the artifact to Beard.

Truth be told, here we will have to talk to Sultan again, we agree to help. However, we don't talk to Knuckles yet, but instead tell Beard that the stalkers are about to be attacked. We agree to help the stalkers specifically. Now we talk to Knuckles and go on the mission.
As soon as the shootout starts, we waste the banditos.

We report to Beard. We take the quest "The Deal".
Again we go to Forestry, at the entrance a group of stalkers will be waiting for us. We sneak with them to the negotiation site. From the other side, we kill all the bandits, mercenaries, and Morgan (a member of the Duty in an exoskeleton).
From the latter's corpse, we take the PDA. DO NOT SELL IT TO THE TRADER

We report to Beard again. For now, we'll leave our barman alone.

To start, in the bar we find the stalker Gonta, and ask him about Magpie. He will give us a quest. And we immediately forget about it for the time being.
In our timeline, we talk to Grouse and agree to help. We buy a couple of grenades, preferably F-1. In the Bloodsucker lair, we make the same save as in the Sultan branch and again arrange a massacre for the Bloodsucker.
At the same time, we repeat the genocide of monsters with grenades until grenade kills reach 100.
We get the achievement: Agent F-1



Excellent, the lair is destroyed. We jump down the pipe after Grouse. But we don't run to the exit, we turn around. And we go all the way to the end of the pipe. There is a stash there with 2 units of anabiotic. And now we go to the exit to talk to Grouse.
He will ask to meet with him later. So for now, we forget about him too.

We collect artifacts (get into the habit of collecting artifacts along the way in all anomalies you pass) and complete the nearest main story quest.

Next we move here:


There is a cave here, a Controller sits inside. We kill the evil spirit and approach the corpse in the cave.
We get the achievement: Mirone, is it you?



Right here we take the third anabiotic.
Now, when an emission starts, and a marker appears to hide from it, we take this drug. We repeat this 3 times during an emission (the main thing is to be outside during it, so that the marker for the "Find Shelter" quest from the emission is active! Doesn't count indoors).
You will most likely get it later, but since emissions are random in time, we'll leave it here. The main thing is to keep in mind what to do during an emission.
We get the achievement: Marked by the Zone



We went to "Skadovsk". We tell Beard that the Bloodsucker lair has been cleared and we get the Veles detector. We equip it immediately (when you find the first artifact with it, it will be 3/4 - Detectortive)
Right here, we buy all the energy drinks from the barman. We make a save. We drink and load. Repeat until the coveted achievement sound!
We get the achievement: Coffee Reactor



We go to Owl and take the quest to find information from the mercenaries.
We run to the marker and mow down everything living. A stealthy approach does not suit us.
We collect Hook's PDA, Ridge's PDA, and Mercenary Laptop.
We bring them to Owl and sell them through the dialogue "Perhaps this will interest you...."
(3/10 for the Trafficker of Information achievement)

If the quest "Meet with Grouse" hasn't been updated. We sleep for a day. Then we go to his usual haunt in the bar. The stalker won't be there. We talk to Beard about this. He will tell you where to look.
Arriving at the place, we enter the nearest shack. We learn the doctor's terrible secret.
We report to Beard about what happened.
We get the achievement: Detective



We talk to Owl. We take the task to find 3 Veles detectors.
We already have one, we need to find 2 more. If you did everything as I wrote, and didn't offend the stalkers in this timeline, then relations with this group will be at the "friends" level (stalkers became green dots). If so, then 2 Veles detectors will appear for sale from Owl (maybe you need to sleep a couple of hours). We buy them. Done, you are wonderful!

We talk to Pilot (guide, who stands behind one of the tables). For 3000 money, we go to Yanov station.

🚂 To Yanov and Back!
As soon as you arrive in this "new", wonderful world, approach the stalker Flint. DO NOT TALK TO HIM, just listen to his story. (1/7 - Challenges - Pinocchio)

If, suddenly, you weren't lucky, and after completing Grouse's quest chain the stalkers are still not friends, then we go down to the basement at Yanov.
And if you're lucky, we go down to the basement with a feeling that fortune is on your side)))))
There stands a hunter nicknamed Trapper. We talk to him and take the quest to clear another Bloodsucker lair.
We go to complete it immediately. After killing the beasts, we collect artifacts using the Veles. We rush back to Yanov.
At Yanov, Flint will be telling how he cleared this lair. We listen to the story completely. (2/7) I repeat, DO NOT TALK TO Flint for the time being. Just listen.
We go down to Trapper, complete the quest. Immediately take the next one, but put it off for now.
(If the stalkers are still not green, then we go on Trapper's second assignment. If they became green only after the Bloodsucker lair, we go to Owl and buy the detectors)

In any case, in the end, we go and give the detectors to the scientists in the bunker.
That's it, Zaton is waiting for us again.

🛥️ Zaton or Skadovsk 1.5
Upon returning, we go to sleep for a day.
Then we run a little away from Skadovsk. We hear Owl on the radio and immediately return.
He reports that he sold the detectors to Beard, but the barman does not give the promised percentage. We must talk to Beard. He swears that he had no agreement with Owl other than buying the detectors and that Owl is deceiving us. At the end of the conversation, Beard gives the Svarog detector. You need to return to Owl and demand your share. Be sure to demand a share, not agree to talk to Sultan.

We talk to Beard again and take the quest we already know to find the Compass. We run to Noah, take the artifact and return it specifically to Beard.
We get the achievement: One of Ours



From this moment on, Beard will sell artifacts. Check in with him periodically. Sometimes he has high-level artifacts too.

Now, armed with the best detector, it's time to clear almost all activities in Zaton.
Here will be 2 maps. The first with stashes for the achievement. The 2nd with points of interest for mandatory visits.

I advise starting from the north of the map.
At the marks with a six-pointed star, a poltergeist lives. We kill each of them. Also, in the "Iron Forest" anomaly lies one of the helicopters from the main story. There we will take the maps (don't miss it).
On the four-pointed star icons lie tools for our technicians - Cardan and Nitro.

At the lower location of the four-pointed star, the place is guarded by mercenaries. They will let you pass if you give them 6 units of any food (sausage, loaf, canned food). I recommend this path, because in the future they can be recruited (optional).
Naturally, we collect all artifacts along the way (anything that is not needed yet, can be stored on Skadovsk (the box in the right room from the bedroom)).

To loot a stash in this part of the game, you don't necessarily need to know about it beforehand. So we can collect them without waiting for the marker to appear. The main thing is to watch for the notification "Stash discovered" to appear when collecting. Track it through "Challenges" after each collection.
After collecting all 18
We get the achievement: Under every rock



Upon one of the returns to Skadovsk, to unload our pockets, we give the maps found on the Stingray-2 helicopter to the guide Pilot.
He will give us a discount on future trips to Yanov.
We also give the found tools to Cardan.

After collecting all the stashes, sleep for a day. And go to one of the poltergeist icons. Kill it again (they respawn).
We get the achievement: Ghostbuster



Now, returning to Skadovsk, we save the game. And we sell all the artifacts we found to the barman. Our goal is to have 100 thousand money (or more) in our pocket at the same time.
We get the achievement: A Wealthy Client



We load the game. We can sell some unnecessary artifacts. The main thing is to leave at least 1 copy of each in the box for tracking.
We finish all the business you have left, including the main story. It's time to go to Yanov again.

🏭 Jupiter Factory Outskirts
Arriving again at Yanov, first we listen to Flint's story about how he found the maps for the guide. (3/7)

Then we immediately go to the point:


Here we find a UAV, take the disk from it, and carry the equipment to Novikov in the scientists' bunker. We give it for decryption.
While the process is going on, we take from Ozersky the quest to find the Oasis (the artifact in it).
We go to the marker, the entrance to the oasis is here:


On the way, we solve a not-so-difficult puzzle. Just run forward, each time passing under a different arch. In the end, the necessary arches will be highlighted by fireflies.
Once inside, we take the artifact.
We get the achievement: Gifts of Nature



We bring the artifact to Ozersky.
So as not to put it off, we rush to Yanov, there we listen to another story from Flint about the Oasis. (4/7)
Right here, immediately, we take the quest from Vano to pay off the debt for his gear. And also the quest to return a hostage from captivity, the quest is given by the stalker with the callsign Grizzly (stands behind one of the tables on the Dute side). We will complete these tasks a little later.

We go here:


Here, by jumping from the bridge onto the train, we get inside the cars. Going to the end (avoiding the wandering electra) we find tools for fine work.

Now we drag ourselves back to the scientists and start the quests from Professor Hermann.
He will give the first quest only if you have at least one piece of the following equipment:
  • SEVA suit
  • Bulat armored suit
  • PSZ-9d Duty armor
  • Exoskeleton
  • Wind of Freedom suit
  • Freedom Guard bodysuit
  • CS-3a body armor
  • Tactical helmet
  • Sphere M12 helmet
  • Screen helmet
If yes, we take the quest and set off to complete it. If not, then Owl will be happy to sell you something from this list.
The main thing to remember throughout all the scientists' quests is that the group of stalkers who go with you must survive. At least 3.

Therefore, at the end of the 1st quest, when a Controller grabs the stalkers by the brains, we attack only the Controller! We don't touch the stalkers at all, even if they open fire on you!

We complete the remaining quests according to this principle. Until Hermann gives the quest to find documents at the Jupiter factory. We take it, of course, but first we do other things.

By this time, Novikov has already managed to remove the encryption from the UAV disk 10 times. We take the disk and get 3 points with Strelok's caches (be sure to sell the disk itself to Owl).
Here is their location, just in case:


We go and take the caches under numbers 1 and 2.
The entrance to the 1st cache is through a pipe, in the south of the location, from the swamp.
To get the 2nd cache, you need to jump into the cabin of a huge earthmoving machine, the cache itself is in a black backpack. (You can jump from a leaning tree).
Without moving away, at the base of the giant machine, lies a key character. Namely, the wounded stalker with the callsign Sliver (In some translations, known as: Splinter) asks for help. We start a dialogue, he will tell how one of the Dute members left him for dead and ran off with an artifact. We get this info and move on.

On the way, we complete Trapper's quest "Hunting: Unidentified Mutants". But we don't turn it in yet.
We go further to the Jupiter factory. Here we need to collect 4 documents and another set of tools for fine work.
Here is their approximate location:

Under number 3: Notebook sheet
Under number 4: Letter concerning deliveries of item 62
Under the star: Tools

When we pick up the 1st document, the mercenary with the callsign Black will whisper in our ear that we shouldn't have come here. Don't despair, we kill all the mercenaries. From the corpse of Black himself, the mercenary in the exoskeleton, we take the PDA (for me he was hanging out on the first floor, away from his lackeys).

Having received all 4 documents (check the name in the inventory and what I wrote above) and the PDA, we take the last Strelok's stashes (in a small pipe between anomalies). The most important thing in all of Strelok's caches are the notes. DO NOT SELL THEM!
We return to the entrance of the factory, we go for the tools. They are in the attic of the building in a green cabinet.

We bring Black's PDA and some of the documents from the factory to Hermann (he will take what he needs himself).
(Here I got an achievement related to the scientists, but the quest chain itself is not completed. It is important for us to complete them, but we will do that a little later)

Returning to Yanov, we listen to Flint spinning a yarn about how he pulled an artifact from an anomaly (it was he who left Sliver for dead in the quarry). (5/7) Here the quest "Retribution" will update. We DON'T DO IT yet.
We give the tools to Nitro.
We turn in the quest to Trapper, take the new one "Night Hunt". We immediately go to complete it.
We return and report on the work done.
We get the achievement: Mutant Hunter



Next, we go through Vano and Grizzly's quests. Stock up on cash. You'll need it.
We don't kill the banditos. We buy out Vano's debt, then we go for the hostage stalker.
At the warehouses, we buy out the stalker with the callsign Mitay (here they will rip you off quite a bit of money).
After leaving the bandit camp with Mitay, we start a dialogue. To save time, we teleport with him to Yanov.
We close Vano's quest first, then Grizzly's.
We get the achievement: Diplomat



We go to Skadovsk.

🏚️ Skadovsk for 20 minutes and back
In Skadovsk we are interested in three people. Namely:

Cardan - we give him the tools found on Jupiter.

Owl - we sell him the hard drive from the UAV. And also the 4 documents from the Jupiter factory.
(8/10 for the Trafficker of Information achievement).

Gonta - we tell him that Trapper sent us and we are ready to help with the chimera. We complete the quest (Gonta must survive).
We get the achievement: A Friend of Stalkers



That's all, back to Yanov again.

🚁 Jupiter or Yanov 1.5
Returning to Yanov, we go to the scientists. We take the quest from Hermann "Anomalous Activity".
We go according to the quest marker. Having reached the cooling tower, we go up (on the way you will hear radio conversations). Approaching the anomaly in the air, we take out our super Svarog detector. The corpses of Dute members will fall out of the anomaly.
We take Tachenko's PDA from one of them.
We turn in the quest to Hermann.
We get the achievement: Research Assistant



We go further here:


There we meet a group of Monolith led by Strider. We talk to him and promise to find them shelter.

We return to Yanov, where Flint again spins a tale - how the scientists crawled on their knees to him for help (this dialogue will only appear after completing all of Hermann's quests). (6/7)
Here we make a manual save just in case.
We talk to Flint. We accuse him of leaving Sliver to die. We listen to the final monologue. (7/7)
We get the achievement: Pinocchio

Got the achievement? Excellent! We make another manual save. Ahead is "A Dog's Dream" again.

Freedom☮️ / 🛡️ Duty - "A Dog's Dream"
So, let's begin.
We go to Loki - the leader of the «Freedom» forces.
We start a dialogue and give him Morgan's PDA and Tachenko's PDA. (10/10)
We get the achievement: Trafficker of Information



Next, we talk about Flint and his dark deeds in Zaton.
We get the achievement: Courier of Justice



We talk about the Monolith. Loki agrees to accept them. We watch the cut-scene and listen to the dialogue between the recruiter and "Strider and Co".
We get the achievement: A Friend of Freedom



We load the manual save.
Now we do the same with Shulga - the leader of the «Dute» forces.
We get the achievement: A Friend of Duty



End of "A Dog's Dream".

⚙️ Yanov 2.0 and a bit of Skadovsk
We load our last manual save from before all the faction events.

Here our task is to activate a bug, namely:

We turn Flint over to any faction you like (Dute/Freedom).

We jump to Skadovsk and tell Gonta that Flint (aka Magpie) has paid for his sins.

We sell Morgan's PDA and Tachenko's PDA to Owl.

We return to Yanov. We offer the faction to which we turned in Flint to shelter Strider's group.
We get the achievement: A Man of Balance



We finish the main quest on Jupiter. We study all the crashed helicopters.
We get the achievement: Imperfect plans



We get the documents on the overpass. We bring all this to Nitro.
We need to get a suit with a closed breathing function. This is the SEVA suit (sold by Hawaiian or Owl).
Next, we go to the hermit-Dute member Zulus. He will suggest we assemble a team.
We suggest Vano, Sokolov, Strider.

We go to Vano, he will join our suicide squad without any problems. Strider will also go without questions (he is on the side of the faction you placed him with).
The last one is Sokolov. He is sitting in the scientists' bunker. He also needs a suit. Professor Ozersky can issue it to him.
For him, we need to obtain the last unique artifact "Anomalous Plant". We complete the quest.
We get the achievement: Pioneer



We tell Sokolov that Ozersky will issue him a suit. We send the last member of our expedition to Zulus.
We get the achievement: Leader



It's worth working on another achievement here.
If you've been poking your detector into every anomaly, you've probably collected almost all varieties of artifacts.
Personally, I was missing Snowflake.
You can buy missing artifacts from Beard. From him, you can also get 1 high-level artifact: just take a quest to find the artifact you need. Sleep until the quest updates and a group of stalkers appears on the map. Run to them and simply buy the artifact you need through the trade menu.
There is a nuance here: if it is not Snowflake, Flame, Stone Flower, or Moonlight, you can give it to Beard, complete the quest, and take a new assignment.
The main thing is that we have these 4 artifacts in our pocket: Snowflake, Flame, Stone Flower, and Moonlight. We carry them almost until the end of the game!
You need to touch the following artifacts:

Also, at this stage, you have most likely already visited a sufficient number of anomalies, namely more than 18 (perhaps you got it, like me, while running around on the scientists' quests).
We get the achievement: Seasoned Stalker



That's all for now. It's time to move on.

🕳️ Underground Tunnels
After talking with Zulus, we go into the tunnels.
Here it is advisable to save at least Sokolov's life. But if you want to see the "Happy End", you need to bring everyone to the end. Therefore, we save the game and go forward!
Entering the tunnels, we get the achievement: Forgotten paths



We go through these paths with our comrades. Until we find the stairs up.

🎡 Pripyat and Beyond
Climbing the stairs, we watch a cut-scene.
After which we will be escorted to the laundry.
We get the achievement: Purgatory



We talk with General Kovalsky. We immediately get a task to escort and cover a group of military personnel. Before entering the building, we save the game.
This is important! They will send 4 soldiers with us. One of them, a sniper, will die by script. We need to bring the other three out of the ambush alive! Make sure all three yellow dots on the mini-map are lit.
Work proactively, don't wait in the building. Run down and waste the Monolith, including those on the roofs.
If any of the soldiers die, load the game and try again.

As a result, we get the Gauss gun. True, it is broken.
Kovalsky will ask us to take it to the technician for repair.
But let's not rush with that yet. Having gained freedom of action, we go for the tools (on the way you can do secondary tasks from the military).
Tool locations:


The tools are located in the basement of the Department Store (the entrance to the basement is behind the residential building). The tools themselves are on a table in the dirt.

Tools in the Old Service Center, on the second floor in the room with supplies on the shelf. However, they are guarded by a Burer. Be ready.

We took the tools, we run back. On the way, you can save Zulus near the School (if he survived in the tunnels). He will be fighting off Snorks. (but this is optional).

We approached the guide who appeared in the Laundry and leave for Yanov.

At the station, we give the tools to Nitro.
We get the achievement: Hi-Tech Expert
