This is very simple. I have here a screenshot of the build I messed around with the other day to beat the Woodland Abomination. I've used others but I wanted to create a thorn build that was efficient and this one did it with a good amount of health remaining (13/20). Note that the perk is set, so you'd need to increase your damage by 1 for it to work the same, but if your health is around 10 you'll still be fine. Only thing to mention, other than the items to pick and their location, is the perk I gave the weapon. It has add two thorns and lose one health per hit. That's key to this one.
