Handling a Running Fish: If a fish escapes into reeds or snags, do not pull with full force. Instead, walk towards the fish while carefully keeping tension on the line. This shortens the distance and prevents the fish from breaking free.

The Bending Rod Trick: Lowering and bending the rod is a great way to quickly close the distance with a struggling fish. This can be seen when the distance to the fish drops from 26 to 18 meters.


Controlling the Drag: Avoid increasing your reel's drag too quickly. If a fish is running, let it take some line. Increasing the drag too much, especially when the fish is close, can cause the line to snap. It's better to let the fish tire itself out and then gradually reel it in.
The Landing Net: The landing net is your final piece of gear. When the fish is within two meters, a landing net will automatically appear. Always put it in the water to safely land your catch.
