This mod filters loot drops to prevent the game from overly spoiling you

I initially made this as a quick servermod with hardcoded filters as I'm not a fan of the new loot system dropping every high end ingredient and equipment, which I find spoils the game and makes crafting completely redundant.
However I have now added full configuration for the filters I previously set up so you can adjust your drops accordingly. It has my initial values as defaults, though I'll probably expand my own setup as I play.
I guess we can call it.. "less of a servermod" now? lol

Features:
  • The mod filters loot drops from chests and NPCs
  • Several ways of handling loot, you can swap, limit the drop chance further, adjust the quantity or outright remove the item from loot.
  • Customizable, dc lootconfig to show the admin UI
  • Should work with on modded items too etc.
  • Prevents NPCs from dropping their equipped item (currently that is not configurable)
  • On the default configuration it: removes all paddings, epic weapon components, lowers the chance of high tier equipment drops, limits legendary chests, but feel free to tweak those settings

Note: This mod only filters loot from drops, it does not affect loot from harvesting, not does it guarantee that it will get everything in case mods add different kinds of chests etc. But it should be enough for the scope of the mod. It's not an admin item ban mod, players can still use or have these items if they obtain them otherwise, just aims to tone down the crazy vanilla drops that we have since AoW.

Compatibility:
Compatible with most mods.
Since it started as a servermod, it does directly intercept the lootspawner, though that should be fine for 99% of cases as mods don't usually touch that and Funcom never updates it normally.

Some of my other mods:
  • The Purge Mod Experience the old-style purge in this custom remake. Fully customize attacking forces etc. for your server
  • Simple Minimap (Helps you see where you're going.. it's a minimap that works with controllers too)
  • Twin-Bar (Doubles the capacity of your shortcut bar by allowing you to place 2 items in each and individually swap between them with hotkeys)
  • Armor and Weapon Stats in Bench (shows you the stats of things in the bench before crafting)
  • Reliable Meteor Showers (tiny super-lightweight mod that makes meteors rain sooner if there are less than 5 nodes on the map, solving the issue of scarce star metal - also adds the smoke back to meteor nodes that was removed in Chapter 2)
  • The Damage Meter (measure yours and your followers damage done / taken and dps, can also track 3 additional players)
  • Inventory compactor (button that gets rid of empty slots in custom view inventory and benches)
  • Follower Remote (Lightweight mod that lets you instantly change your followers engagement settings (Passive / Guard Me / Aggressive) via hotkeys or the thrall radial menu without having to be close to them, also has a feature to make them switch to truncheons or use healing potions / bandages in their inventory)

Update Policy
  • My mods are built to remain compatible and almost never need updates when the game itself is updated. ?Outdated? warnings from hosts (like gportal) can be ignored - they only compare version numbers between the game and the devkit, which don?t matter unless basegame files are altered.

  • Updates happen at my discretion. If I need to update a mod, I will. Please avoid telling me when I should or should not update my mods. If that is a problem, you are free not to use the mod.

  • Mod mismatch errors are not caused by the mods themselves. It?s simply the game telling you that the mod version you have is not the same as the one on the server. For more info, or to get the previous version of the mod, visit the Discord.

There, now everybody can remove whatever they want :P

Perhaps remove orbs as chest loot? (can easily knab gas and knockout orbs in Sep) and remove grey lotus seeds/flowers from mob drops - it's become way too easy to get

It doesn't add any loot, it simply removes or replaces items, just like the description says. I've no idea how it impacts purge loot chests as I haven't done any purges, but they should be effected also as described above

Does this mod impact the loot types/drops from chests from Purges? i find i am getting the same things over and over and over and over with very little variation.

Deathwish Gerbil has a point - it does confused me when killing some random dood to find they have a full size stuffed gorilla in his pocket :P

NO! NO! NO! I absolutely REFUSE to use this mod until you introduce either a blanket ban on ALL taxidermy from drops or for each taxidermied critter to spontaneously combust on approach. *Gauntlet thrown* Seriously though, love your work as always. I died a little inside when AoW introduced this smorgasbord in every chest or dead thing. :steamhappy:
