I tried disabling and reenabling the widget, and the crops I am growing are definitely bred. I tried disabling every other mod apart from this one to see if there was a compatability issue, but it still only shows me the +59 number and nothing else, sadly.

In my environment (EA23.237), it works without any particular issues.
Possible causes include your widget settings having hover guides disabled from the start, or the cursor being placed over a plant that hasn't been bred. However, the MOD itself is likely functioning correctly.
