custom beta-esque gunship sounds

i saw that tete released a mod that reskinned the gunship to look like it's very first concept art iteration so i thought i would make a little sound replacement for it

most of the sounds come from animals (ex. whales, dolphins etc) but you can barely tell because of how much i messed with the audio. i also took submarine sonar sounds for the pinging and a heavily edited trumpet for when the gunship moans.

all other sounds are from the 2003 leak or are retail sounds i jumbled up to sound different.

gameplay vid soon

credits

valve, for the original sounds used.

me, for the edits and everything else.

whales and dolphins because i used their sounds i guess.

thanks, i was really going for that fucked-up combine abomination feeling. wanted to make it sound like they literally stuck a megaphone into this things vocal cords.

something important to note is that their engines are much quieter. it's not noticeable outside of combat (like during the roof sequence at the start of the game) but during battle you probably won't hear their engine very clearly. i did this on purpose since the vocalizations are the highlight of this and i didn't wanna overshadow them with the loud-ass 2003 engine sfx.
