What?
If you happen to be one of the twenty players who haven't yet concluded their Cryptmaster journey, welcome! While exploring the Downwood, you should have stumbled upon a multitude of tombstones that taunt you with seemingly incomprehensible riddles. Scouring the internet for information doesn't amount to much, so worry not, my fellow dimwits; this guide was created to comfortably elucidate their schemes and purpose.
Why should you even bother?
Solving each tombstone unlocks a specific Whatever card (and maybe some other stuff I forgot about), so you can further pursue your dreams of becoming a degenerate collector and professional gambler. You can also use this opportunity to brag to your friends (if you have any) about your refined taste as an intellectually stimulated gamer.

Go make Duncan proud, Gramps!

Where were they located and how do you interact with them?
Most can be found around the inn's marsh, with a few others lying around the nearby areas (marked on the map in white). You just have to stand in front of them and type the correct answer. The Cryptmaster told you this already, though; weren't you paying attention? For each riddle you are supposed to find the respective "cause" of "death."

FRED'S INITIAL ANGER WAS THE CAUSE OF HIS DEATH
Hint 1: If raw emotions didn't kill him, then what is the "initial" referring to?

Hint 2: It's almost as if its name and situation were blazing with intensity.

Hint 3: What if you added his initial to a synonym of anger?

Solution: FIRE (F + IRE)
"DROP IN AN EYE, A LITTLE GIN, AND STIR TOGETHER WITH A SPOON." SHE SHOULD NEVER HAVE MIXED UP THIS ONE.
Hint 1: Indeed, this wordy combo makes for a killer concoction.

Hint 2: This recipe contains just three ingredients, one even sounds like a letter!

Hint 3: What if you brought together those three components and rearranged them?

Solution: POISONING (I + GIN + SPOON)
"POOR SCARLET! CAUGHT SHORT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EXPLOSION, HOW STRANGE SHE SHOULD DIE LIKE THIS!"
Hint 1: What do you hear when something explodes? This crimson lady would surely know.

Hint 2: Despite her rosy title, her killer reaction to the detonation was quite dull.

Hint 3: What if you shoved the color in the middle of the sound?

Solution: BOREDOM (BOOM + RED)
HER IDENTITY WAS IN THE WAY SHE TALKED, BUT SHE COULDN'T AVOID HER FATE.
Hint 1: She has a funny way of speaking, maybe she's foreign?

Hint 2: A card in her wallet would probably tell us where she's from.

Hint 3: What if you inserted the name of this card into her way of speaking?

Solution: ACCIDENT (ACCENT + ID)
THERE'S AN ARTY SOUND IN THIS, BUT IT'S STILL A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE.
Hint 1: My throat is dry from saying "ARTY" out loud so many times.

Hint 2: When you say it really slowly, it kind of reminds you of how the Pixies talk.

Hint 3: What if you literally added these sounds to that word?

Solution: THIRST (RT + THIS)
HERE LIES ONE WHO FELL TO HIS DEATH, A MOST SERIOUS WAY TO GO...
Hint 1: I also don't think you understand the weight of this situation.

Hint 2: He would have lived if he had paid more attention in Physics class.

Hint 3: He was pulled downwards by a certain force.

Solution: GRAVITY
MAULED TO DEATH BY A CONFUSED CHICKEN?
Hint 1: If a chicken is not capable of doing this, then why was it mixed up?

Hint 2: This howling beast's title was mistaken for poultry.

Hint 3: What if you rearranged a synonym of chicken?

Solution: WOLF (FOWL)
THIS POOR SOUL SHOULD NEVER HAVE LOOKED INSIDE THAT LOG BUT YOU, POOR SOUL, MIGHT LIKE TO.
Hint 1: Are you sure which kind of noxious log you are supposed to inspect?

Hint 2: What they found was so upsetting that it was practically paralysing.

Hint 3: What else can you call this bitter and spiteful showing?

Solution: VENOM
TOO FULL OF HIMSELF, NOW THE LIONS ARE TOO FULL OF HIM...
Hint 1: It's true that he has a certain thing in common with lions.

Hint 2: Despite being outnumbered, he made up for it in swagger.

Hint 3: This sinful demeanor was also his downfall.

Solution: PRIDE

HERE LIES OLD ELI, WHO WENT THROUGH THIS BACKWARD LAND WITH HIS MIDDLE CUT OUT, NEVER ADMITTING THE TRUTH.
Hint 1: One is reversed, while the other is missing its centre.

Hint 2: Even after mingling with the area, he was still in a state of negation.

Hint 3: What if you merged the reversed word with the chopped one?

Solution: DENIAL (DNAL + EI)
BONUS: The Pixie Cloud
Near the inn there is a bridge that leads to an imposing group of pixies. They can be appeased only if you tell them a specific phrase corresponding to a puzzle nearby.

Hint 1: A word on each pillar in the room next to this seems to be highlighted for some reason.

Hint 2: It looks like they are intended to belong to a certain pool of words.

Hint 3: Maybe another word could be attached neatly to all of them?

Hint 4: This sole word is associated with movement and other human activities.

Solution: FOOT (FOOTSTEP, FOOTHILL, FOOTBALL...)
