How do I make the map point in the right direction?
To ensure your navigation map aligns perfectly with your ship's forward direction, first, make sure you have a main cockpit or remote control assigned to your grid.

Once that's set, simply navigate to the Navigation Screen's terminal, enable "Edit Chevron" mode,

and press the "Align to Main Cockpit" button.

You can also add this button to your block's toolbar for quick access. If no main cockpit is found, a warning will appear, so always assign one for the best results!
How do I zoom or pan? (Keybind Guide)
To use the zoom and pan features on the Navigation Screen, you must be looking directly at the screen in-game (the mod checks if your camera is facing the block). The following keybinds are available when zoom/pan is enabled:

Key (Numpad)
Action
Numpad 9
Zoom in (increase zoom level)
Numpad 3
Zoom out (decrease zoom level)
Numpad 1
Reset zoom to minimum (1x)
Numpad 7
Set zoom to maximum (10x)
Numpad 2
Pan map up (increase latitude offset)
Numpad 8
Pan map down (decrease latitude offset)
Numpad 4
Pan map left (decrease longitude)
Numpad 6
Pan map right (increase longitude)
Numpad 5
Reset pan and zoom to defaults

Usage Notes:
  • You must be looking at the navigation screen block for these keybinds to work.
  • Zoom and pan are only available if "Enable Zoom and Pan" is turned on in the block's terminal.
  • Panning wraps around at ±180° for both latitude and longitude.
  • All changes are immediately visible on the screen.
Tip:
You can also adjust zoom and pan using the block's terminal sliders if you prefer a UI-based approach.
Overview
The Navigation Screen mod adds a customizable navigation map to supported blocks (such as text panels) in Space Engineers. It provides map zoom, panning, and a configurable "chevron" marker to help with orientation and navigation. All controls are available via the block's terminal UI.

Terminal Controls & Mechanics
Accessing the Navigation Screen
  1. Open the terminal of a block that supports the Navigation Screen (custom blocks that come with this mod).
  2. Look for the Navigation Map section in the terminal.

Main Controls
  • Help
Opens the Steam Workshop help page for the mod.
  • Enable Zoom and Pan
Toggle to allow or prevent zooming and panning of the map.
  • Reset
Resets zoom and pan to default values.
  • Map Zoom
    Slider to zoom in/out (1x to 10x).
Tip: Only available if zoom is enabled.
  • Panning Latitude / Longitude
Sliders to move the map view horizontally and vertically.
Tip: Only available if zoom is enabled.

Chevron (Marker) Editing
To edit the chevron, enable Edit Chevron:
  • Edit Chevron
Toggle to show/hide chevron customization controls.
  • Chevron Icon
Dropdown to select the icon for your marker.
  • Rotate Chevron
Toggle to enable/disable automatic rotation of the marker.
  • Override Chevron Rotation
Slider to manually set the marker's rotation (–180° to 180°).
  • Chevron Color
    Color picker for the marker.
  • Transparency / Opacity
Slider to set marker opacity (0%–100%).
  • Chevron Scale
Slider to set marker size (0.1x–10x).
  • Chevron Size X / Y
Sliders to adjust the marker's width and height.
  • Align to Main Cockpit
Button to align the marker to the main cockpit or remote control.
If no main cockpit is found, a warning will be shown.
  • Map Direction Offset
Dropdown to set the map's orientation relative to the block (front, right, rear, left).

Toolbar Action
  • Align to Main Cockpit
Can be added to the block's toolbar for quick access.

Tips
  • Settings are per block: Each navigation screen block can have its own settings.
  • Main Cockpit Alignment: Assign a main cockpit or remote control to your grid for best results with alignment features.
  • No Keybinds: All features are accessed via the block's terminal UI or toolbar actions; there are no global keybinds.

Troubleshooting
  • If controls are missing, ensure you are using a supported block and that the mod is loaded.
  • For help, use the Help button in the terminal or visit the mod’s Steam Workshop page.

@Uzar Awesome, thanks

@FuzzyMonkey the TCI currently only shows other faction owned maps.
The option to add icons representing GPS locations will come in the next release
FuzzyMonkey 10 月 17 日 上午 6:22
How do I use the TCI?
Can I manually add locations to the map?

@Dirkin, the windows should now be normally sized so that clicking the close button works. Also, pressing Esc will close any of my windows.

@Dirkin, I would appreciate if you could tell me how I can replicate the issue that you have. Independent of that: I will push an update later today that closes any of the map windows when the game is in the game menu (e.g. after pressing Esc)

How do I dismiss the Map Options window? I can't get the cursor to access the close button and pressing escape just triggers the games escape menu. My game is entirely unplayable without being able to close this dialog box.
