The second generation of the Phalanx line of frigate class ships. Significantly reworked to allow it to carry one INX-200f 'Sentinel' scout class fighter inside its hull. Features include:

* Fighter bay - floor of the cockpit can be lowered to deploy a single Sentinel light fighter.

* Extendable/retractable landing gear.

* Dual connectors on the belly for refueling purposes.

Fluff:

Pride can often prove to be an Achilles' heel to the engineer who, in love for their own creation, refuses to rethink the fundamental premise of a ship's design. Not so with the Incarri. With the 5th Great War came the realization that, while the massive Incarri fleet could break any foe that crossed its path, there is more to war than simply winning skirmishes.

Lack of intel can often result in enemies making their escape before battle is even joined, and it leaves you vulnerable to ambushes and flanking maneuvers. And so the need arose for a frigate class ship that could undertake scouting missions behind enemy lines, with enough fire-power to eliminate most threats that might jeopardize the mission.

The Phalanx was still a relatively new design when the War broke out in 3646 N.E., but the Incarri engineers did not fail to see the potential for a massive overhaul in the ship's function. Among more conventional upgrades to the ship's arsenal, great pains were also taken to find a way to fit a smaller fighter inside the hull of the Phalanx.

From observing their new ships perform in battle, the Incarri saw the advantage of having a smaller, more maneuverable craft accompany the Phalanx to make up for its lack of maneuverability. It was this duo of Phalanx and Sentinel, each making up for the weaknesses of the other, that would later come to play a critical part in the Incarri victory over APEC's High Imperator Jardvik in the Battle of Hiirsvak in the year 3715 N.E.
