[FIX] Lag and Stuttering When Turning Fast (Especially with High-End Mice)
由 SYSTEM - 161 制作
The Problem

Hey everyone!

Have you ever been in the middle of a great run, but the moment you try to flick your mouse or turn around quickly, your game stutters, the FPS drops, and it feels like you're playing in slow motion?

I was having this exact issue. My game ran perfectly fine until I made a fast mouse movement, which caused a huge lag spike. After some troubleshooting, I found the cause and a simple fix.

The Cause: High Mouse Polling Rate

The problem is most likely your mouse's Polling Rate.

Many new high-performance gaming mice come with incredibly high polling rates, like 8000 Hz (8k). A polling rate is how often your mouse reports its position to the computer. While 8000 Hz is technically faster, it sends a massive amount of data that can overwhelm the CPU. Some game engines aren't optimized to handle this constant flood of information, which leads to a CPU bottleneck and causes the stuttering you see when you move the mouse fast.

The Solution: Lower Your Polling Rate

The fix is to lower your mouse's polling rate through its own software. For me, dropping it from 8000 Hz to 4000 Hz solved the problem instantly.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. Open your mouse's configuration software. This will be different depending on your mouse brand:
    • Razer: Razer Synapse
    • Logitech: Logitech G HUB
    • Corsair: iCUE
    • SteelSeries: SteelSeries GG (Engine)
    • Glorious: Glorious CORE
    • ...and so on for other brands.
  2. Find your mouse's settings. Look for a tab labeled "Performance," "Sensor," or something similar.
  3. Locate the "Polling Rate" (it might also be called "Report Rate").
  4. Lower the value. If it's set to 8000 Hz, try changing it to 4000 Hz or 2000 Hz. If you still experience issues, 1000 Hz is a very safe and standard polling rate for gaming and should eliminate the problem entirely.
  5. Save or Apply the new settings in the software.

Your game should now run smoothly, even when you're turning at lightning speed!

Hope this guide helps anyone else who's been pulling their hair out over this weird lag. If it worked for you, please consider giving this guide a thumbs up so other players can find it.
