Introduction
After 100% completing the original Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!, I was ready to go on and do it all again with Arcana Heart 3 LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!! XTEND! But, after looking online I quickly saw there had been a few posts in the Community Hub about achievements no longer working due to features such as Trial Mode being removed from the game.

Checking the game's current achievement list, I saw there were no longer any achievements related to these removed features. Comparing both games' 56 achievements, the following had been swapped out at some point in the game's life cycle:

Old Achievement
Old Requirements
New Achievement
New Requirements
Bronze Arcana
Obtained all bronze medals in Trial Mode with one character.
?!! The Pistrix's are coming together………
Land a successful hit using Pistrix's Critical Heart, "Mega-beast-lodon".
Silver Arcana
Obtained all silver medals in Trial Mode with one character.
Dark deeds
Land a successful hit using Dark Heart's Critical Heart, "Gokusou Zekka-ryouran".
I am Become Death…
Defeated Parace L'Sia in Trial Mode.
Limiter disengaged, overdrive!
Won using Arcana Eclipse.
Gold Arcana
Obtained all gold medals in Trial Mode with one character.
I have been expecting this
Use the Blood Arcana, and perform a combo using 4 full gauges of the Arcana Gauge.
It's Moving…
Unlocked all of the link animations in Gallery Mode.
Team Up of Angel and Life
Starting from the character's initial state, perform a combo that includes using "Elixier Katalysator", and return back to the character's state all within the combo.

It would seem the developers had made a workaround for people to continue to be able to complete the games achievements by adding in some tasks tied to the new DLC characters, however the discussions were listing these as not unlocking when performed. Not only that, some other achievements that should not have been affected by the removal of modes were no longer working either:

Additional Bugged Achievements
Requirements
Good Morning, Angels
Fought and defeated all the characters in Network Mode.
Archangel
Used all of the characters.
Mycana, not Ourcana
Used all of the Arcana.
...Sincerest Form of Flattery
Saw every version of "Phasma" and "Phantasia".

As it turns out, the new achievements are new in name alone- the requirements for them are tied to their old counterpart, i.e. the achievement Dark deeds is programmed to unlock when you obtain all silver medals in Trial Mode with one character!

There is a good side to this: none of the achievements in this game actually require the paid DLC to unlock. What we do need to do instead, is play on the version of Sixstars that came before the DLC characters were released. Do that, and every achievement can be unlocked!
Downloading the older version of the game
The version of the game that will allow us to unlock every achievement without issue is the final manifest that included Trial Mode, which is the version that released on 8 March 2018. We can download this version through the Steam console by following the below steps:

  1. Open the Run command with Windows+R

  2. Enter steam://open/console

  3. At the botttom of the console, enter download_depot 661990 661991 8264436335407140840

When the console has finished downloading, it will show you where it has saved the manifest.

  4. This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > content > app_661990

Create a backup on the desktop (I name my folder the manifest date- 8 March 2018), just in case.

  5. This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > ArcanaHeart3LMSS

Delete everything in here, and replace with the contents of the 8 March 2018 manifest.

  6. This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps >

Open "appmanifest_661990" in Notepad, change the "manifest" number from "3749997626643179602" to "8264436335407140840" and save.

  7. Right click "appmanifest_661990", select Properties and tick "Read-only" so that Steam will not update your game.

  8. This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > ArcanaHeart3LMSS

Play the game by opening it through the "AH3LMSSS" executable in the game folder, rather than through Steam. You'll see that Trial Mode is available in the menu, you're on the old version where the achievements are no longer glitched!

You can watch this short video of me performing the above should you have any issues:

Guide Notation
This guide uses numpad notation for describing inputs, where directions are transcribed as a number corresponding to the direction you would press were you playing on a numpad.

789
456
123

5 being no directional input, 2 being straight down, 6 being forward etc. Your attack options are notated as such:

A = Weak Attack
B = Strong Attack
C = Heavy Attack
D = Homing Attack
E = Arcana Attack

A quarter-circle forward motion followed by a Strong Attack would therefore be 236B. An aerial attack will be notified by a lower case J, e.g. j.D is your Homing Attack performed from the air.

For the majority of the guide, I will be reiterating the inputs required so you will not have to learn terms like Arcana Blast or Critical Heart. By the end you'll have done so many of them you won't need it anymore.
Progress Checklist
I've uploaded a checklist to Google Docs that you can download if you would like to keep track of your progress in regards to longer achievements, as there are a few grindy ones that are not easily tracked in-game. You can find it HERE[docs.google.com].

Step 1: Story Mode
Let's begin getting the achievements! Go into Option, Game Option, and change the Game Difficulty to 1, Rounds to Win (Story) to 1 and Time Limit (Story) to 30.

Select Story Mode and pick Angelia with her default Light Arcana, we will be playing through Story Mode with her twice so we can use this run to familiarise ourselves with her moves. When you reach the final match against Minori, bring her down to very low health and then run away from her until the time rounds out.

W-wait, I can explain!: Defeat Minori Amanohara in Story Mode without KO-ing her.

Go into Option, Game Option, and change Time Limit (Story) to infinite. Now we'll go through Story Mode with every character using their default selected Arcana, KO'ing Minori in the final battle instead of winning by time-out. You should find this to be completely trivial, and just continuously hitting 5C or 5E should get you through each run. Skip Angelia for now and we'll do her second run when everyone else is done.

Linked in the Progress Checklist section of this guide is a spreadsheet you can download to keep track of which characters you have played through Story Mode with, if necessary.

You can help improve this guide!

For whatever reason, at the end of the achievement hunting journey when you're finishing up viewing memories to unlock the last illustrations in the gallery, the game decides you've viewed enough memories and seemingly unlocks everything remaining in the Visual 1 and Visual 2 gallery. This would suggest that actually running through Story mode 25 times is unnecessary and can be cut down to just two playthroughs: the run on difficulty 8 and the run where you time-out against Minori. The "Archangel" and "Mycana, not Ourcana" achievements would then be unlocked at a slightly later time in the guide.

If you choose to ignore unlocking the character ending illustrations at this point, please let me know if you unlock all of them at the end when everything else pops and I will edit this section and credit you for the confirmation.

Storybook Ending: Finished Story Mode
Archangel: Used all of the characters.
Mycana, not Ourcana: Used all of the Arcana.

That's two achievements that you cannot unlock in the current release of the game!

It's time to replay Angelia, this run being on the hardest difficulty. Go into Options, Game Option, and change the Game Difficulty to 8, and Rounds to Win (Story) to 2 (or 1 if you're feeling confident, you have the option to continue if you lose but you probably won't have enough time to build meter for Critical Heart super moves if going this route).

Pick the Metal Arcana for Angelia and play through Story Mode, using either one of two tactics:

The Critical Heart spam method: hold 4E to charge your Arcana gauge to three bars, then use Angelia's Critical Heart attack by rapidly spamming A+B+C (not the intended input, but the easier way). Once three bars of meter is refilled, repeat the process- your Arcana gauge progress persists through rounds, so you can lose the first round while charging to three bars and then decimate the opponent in the following two rounds with repeated Critical Hearts.

The play-the-game-normally tactic: the opponent doesn't seem to block standard strings all that often, so you can find decent success on this difficulty by just going up to them and performing 5B, 5C, 2C and continuing into her 214A+B super if you see the opponent has been hit. You have time to charge meter with 4E after the 214A+B super connects, and the 214A+B has a follow-up super of its own once you have two bars available for increased damage (214A+B, then 41236A+B when Merlin is approaching maximum size) .

Storybook Ending X-TREME: Finished Story Mode on the highest difficulty.

Next up is completing the AFTER Story Mode in full. Go to Option, Game Option, and change Game Difficulty back to 1, then select AFTER Story Mode and play whichever characters are unlocked, mashing through the dialogue if you're not interested and winning the very easy fights.

As you progress, more characters will be unlocked and once everyone is done you'll reach a chapter called Hot Spring where everyone is bathing together. Press the "menu return/cancel" button (in my case, it's the B button on an Xbox controller) to remove the dialogue box, and then hold the "menu confirm" button (the A button on my Xbox controller) and move the analogue stick around to clear the steam filter over the illustration. Do this for quite some time (3-4 minutes), and eventually you'll unlock "Hey, No peeking!". Finish the Epilogue chapter after this is done and you will be finished with all the Story Mode content!

Hey, No Peeking!: Cleared away all of that annoying steam during the hot spring event.
Chillin' in the Hot Spring!: Finished the AFTER Story Mode.

Step 2: Trial Mode
Trial Mode is easily the most difficult challenge in completing this game's achievements, so if you have not played the previous Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!! you could consider skipping this step for now and coming back to it at the end. With that said, this is tied to a lot of the achievements that are bugged in the current release of the game so I like to get it out of the way early.

There is already an excellent guide for Trial Mode available on Steam, made by RivetingWeeb. It breaks the challenge up into multiple smaller runs which makes progress as painless as possible, but be aware the final trial is still very frustrating. I would strongly recommend following their guide, and I will add additional thoughts below.

https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3370695389

Trial 4, silver medal: if you do not decide to unlock the "Spear of Destiny" here as recommended in the guide, I do suggest another method in step 3 which isn't particularly hard to replicate.
As far as completing the trial itself, you should absolutely be using the Lightning Arcana even if not getting the Spear of Destiny achievement. Lightning Arcana causes your charged 5E to have clash frames on start-up, which makes timing your attack against Kira much easier- as soon as you see her begin her kick attacks, hold 5E and you will get a clash when the kick connects.

Trial 9, bronze medal: Catch a Shooting Star (41236A+B) always seems easier to input for me if I do not let go of the 4 input during the initial 214A+B super. I would recommend binding a key to be A+B as well so that you only need worry about the directional inputs.

Trial 10, all medals: each opponent here has an annoying habit of constantly performing supers, so when charging your meter with 4E do it in brief taps rather than holding the button down- you may be surprised at how often you can recover from a charge in time to block Parace's very fast explosion super.

In the silver trial, if Angelia performs her Critical Heart make sure to perform a standing block- you cannot guard against this attack if you are in the air.

Be aware that the pre-fight animations can be skipped by pressing the start button during them, so you don't need to sit through that very long scene with Parace each time she defeats you.

Your win condition here is absolutely abusing Critical Heart (mash A+B+C with three bars), so try not to press the normal attack buttons at all- round one should be all about reaching 2 full bars of meter or more, and all you should really be doing is a mix of jumping to a safer spot on the screen, holding 4 a lot to retreat/block/charge meter with quick taps of E, and occasionally throw out 214A+B when the opponent is directly upon you as it has invincibility frames and will allow guaranteed 4E charge time if it hits. If you are hit in the air, just hold down the A attack to perform an air recovery rather than spamming it because if you spam you will accidentally perform an aerial attack which will get punished by Parace.

It's very important to not get angry, particularly with Parace. Over time you will start to get used to the idea of her intentionally teleporting behind you to reverse your blocking direction, and the more you get used to her attacks the more hits you will ultimately end up blocking which then leads to more of your attempts getting to the stage where you reach three bars of meter and can attempt to fight back. Even then, if she chooses to hit you with the attack that reverses your controls the match is likely already lost no matter how well it was going- sometimes you will simply lose to dumb luck and must try again. The first 15 minutes of my attempts when I played the previous game I did not see her perform the super that encases her in ice once (the only thing in her entire moveset that gives you a reasonable time to charge for meter), just keep persevering and eventually you'll get a run where she's not being completely evil and you'll have it finished.

Below is a video displaying the defensive strategy against Parace. It was an extremely lucky run to win the first round but it should help highlight the idea of blocking your way to victory. You can see I played far too reckless at the start of round 2 because I was too focused on trying to land a Critical Heart, by the end of the round I went back to being defensive and picking my moments to try to attack.

https://youtu.be/Ei11kSrTggY

Once you have won all of the gold medals, do not forget to return to Parace with the Mirror Arcana as instructed in RivetingWeeb's guide however I recommend saving this until you have done everything else regarding the Mirror Arcana- see step 3 of this guide for more details. The reason the Mirror Arcana cannot be unlocked in the current release is because it still wants you to use it against Parace who is no longer accessible!

Completing this step gives you lots of the now-incorrectly named, unobtainable-in-the-latest-version achievements. Congratulations!

The Pistrix's are coming together……….jpg] ?!! The Pistrix's are coming together………Land a successful hit using Pistrix's Critical Heart, "Mega-beast-lodon".
Dark deeds: Land a successful hit using Dark Heart's Critical Heart, "Gokusou Zekka-ryouran".
Limiter disengaged, overdrive!: Won using Arcana Eclipse.
I have been expecting this: Use the Blood Arcana, and perform a combo using 4 full gauges of the Arcana Gauge.[/quote]

Step 3: Arcana, part 1
Step 3 is going to be a long read, but it actually doesn't take very long to unlock most of these achievements at all- this should be fairly fast and easy.

Each Arcana has an achievement related to it (except for the new Blood Arcana, due to it actually being a Trial Mode achievement), and you may have already earned some during the previous steps. I will go through all of them here, and we'll generally start with the easier ones first. For all of these achievements, play in Versus Mode against a human-controlled second player with the VS round time set to infinite. You do not have to finish the matches, you can just pause and quit out to the player select screen to pick the next Arcana.

Metal Arcana

You've almost certainly already unlocked this one, but if not: hold 4E to charge one full bar of meter.

You've Got the POWER!: Charged one segment of the Arcana Gauge using "Energeia" in a single battle.

Fire Arcana and Punishment Arcana

Both of these Arcana have the same achievement requirements- have your character perform a fully charged 5E attack on the opponent and you are done.

Unblockable Hellfire: Successfully used "Cao Huo Jiang" E button attack to break through an opponent's guard.
...Meet Irresistible Force: Successfully used " Sinij" E button attack to break through an opponent's guard.

Light and Tyr Arcana

Both of these Arcana have the same achievement requirements- have your character perform an Extend Force (input A+B+C when the Force Gauge is at 100%), then let the Force Gauge refill and repeat until you have performed ten of them.

When the Pupil is Ready, the Master will Appear: Summoned Mildred ten times.
Synchro Rate: 100%: Used Spirit of Tyr Gottfried's Extended Force ten times in a single battle.

Evil Arcana

Hit the opponent with a charged 5E to poison them, causing them to change colour and lose health over time. Wait until they recover from the poison, then hit them again with another charged 5E; repeat until done.

Corruption: Dealt 5,000 damage in one fight using the Arcana of Evil's poison effect.

Darkness Arcana

With one bar of meter available, input 236236E and hold down E until the achievement unlocks.

Run Silent, Run Deep: Kept one of the Arcana of Darkness's attacks on-screen for at least ten seconds.

Sin Arcana

Perform the four following Arcana attacks: fully charged 5E, 236E, 236236E (requires one bar of meter), and Arcana Blaze (activate Extend Force by inputting A+B+C, then input 236A+B+C)

7 Deadly Sins: Used the Arcana of Sin's passive ability, special attack, super attack, and Arcana blaze.

Nature Arcana

Have player 2 attack you with 5C, then heal by inputting 236236E (requires one bar of meter). Repeat this and on the second heal the achievement should unlock.

Blessing of the Bodhi Tree: Recovered two thousand health in a single round using the powers of the Arcana of Nature.

Ice Arcana

With both characters standing on the far ends of the stage, create crystals by inputting 214E and 214214E (requires one bar of meter) Have player 2 block if necessary but the achievement should unlock long before they would faint (five uses of 214214E should be enough).

The Snow Queen: Unleash at least one hundred crystals in a single battle using the Arcana of Ice.

Blossoms Arcana

Plant three seeds across the stage by inputting 214E in three locations, then repeatedly Extend Force (A+B+C when the Force Gauge is at 100%) to grow them until they are visibly bearing fruit (this takes four Extend Forces). Stand next to each fruit and harvest them with 623E, then plant two more seeds and harvest those with the same method.

Harvest Festival: Harvested five fruits created by "Maboroshi no Hana" and "Yume no Hana".

Time Arcana

Stand directly next to player 2, then with one hand on each controller input 44 to backdash with player 1 and 5A with player 2 to hit the Time Arcana's afterimage. Do this three times for the achievement.

Afterimage: Blocked three attacks using "Jinsen no I" in a single battle.

Fenrir Arcana

With both characters standing on the far ends of the stage, input 236E with player 1 and then quickly change to player 2 and attack the projectile as it approaches- the projectile will explode if timed correctly, unlocking the achievement.

Ah, the Smell of Napalm!: Used an explosion from "Speed Cannon-Berger" to deflect an opponent's attack.

Water Arcana

Stand a small distance away from player 2 and create a bubble by inputting 236E, then use player 2 to attack the bubble to pop it. Pop 20 bubbles total to unlock the achievement.

Mr. Bubbles!: Used "Pluvia" to evade twenty attacks in a single fight.

Love Arcana

Start off by having both players pick the Love Arcana, then stand a few characters apart from each other- as close to each other as you feel comfortable with as it will speed things up. Player 2 will input 236E to launch a projectile, and then player 1 will perform 214E to reflect the projectile. Have player 2 block the reflected projectile so that they are not KO'ed early, and repeat this process 30 times to unlock the achievement.

Love Conquers ALL!: Absorbed thirty attacks using "Rox Kyklos" in a single battle.

Earth Arcana

Player 1 picks Sharlachrot with the Earth Arcana, player 2 will be Angelia with the Metal Arcana. Have player 2 charge three bars of meter by holding 4E, then have them Extend Force (A+B+C with the Force Gauge at 100%) followed by an Extended Critical Heart (mash A+B+C while in Extend Force). As soon as the Extended Critical Heart activates, have player 1 perform their own Extend Force to tank the hit and the achievement should unlock. Repeat as necessary, this achievement is a bit fiddly (I think it's due to the Extended Critical Heart damage being a little random).

Forced Bravado: Took fifteen thousand points of damage during a single extend force without getting knocked back using the Arcana of Earth.
Step 3: Arcana, part 2
Holy Arcana

Player 1 picks Sharlachrot with the Holy Arcana, player 2 will be Angelia with the Metal Arcana. Have player 2 charge three bars of meter by holding 4E, then have them Extend Force (A+B+C with the Force Guage at 100%) followed by an Extended Critical Heart (mash A+B+C while in Extend Force). Once the Extended Critical Heart connects, have player 1 perform their Extend Force to recover their red health. Player 2 can then hit with 214A+B for player 1 to heal with Extend Force one more time to unlock the achievement.

This is another achievement that doesn't seem to unlock consistently for me, so this may require a few attempts (or the description is wrong and it actually counts amount healed over multiple fights). Changing the amount of VS rounds to be 5 instead of 1 might help to fit some extra healing in.

Divine Intervention: Healed two thousand health in a single battle using "Baptism".

Lightning Arcana

You will have likely unlocked this already during the Trial Mode section of the guide- if you haven't yet started the Trial Mode I recommend doing it there as it is easier, but if you have already passed Trial 4's silver medal you can do it here instead.

Use your left hand to have player 2 tap an uncharged 5E and then immediately have your right hand hold 5E with player 1 to guarantee a clash- bring your left hand back to the controller and cancel out of this clash with 623E to perform Claiomh. Three Claiomh inputs will unlock the achievement, it isn't particularly demanding but it's certainly easier against a computer.

Spear of Destiny: Successfully used "Claiomh" three times in a single battle.

Luck Arcana

Stand away from the opponent and every time you have a bar of meter available, perform 236236E and hope both dice land on a 1. Ensure you have meter before performing the super, otherwise you will accidentally perform 236E which raises your luck- if this happens, quit back to the character select screen and try again.

*Mumble* *Mumble*: Rolled snake-eyes while using "Mitra".

Magnetism Arcana

Change the VS rounds to 5 if they have not already been changed whilst unlocking the Holy Arcana achievement. Stand roughly half a screen apart from the opponent and input 214214E when you have a bar of meter available to have various projectiles fly onto the field. If three washing pans (not cooking pans) fall down and hit the opponent before the match is over the achievement will unlock.

The Three (Five?) Stooges: Used "Organon" or "Symposio" to whack an opponent three times on the head.

Sound Arcana

Have player 2 be Catherine as her larger hurtbox should make this combo easier to perform. First, place player 2 in the corner and standing next to them, input 236E five times in order to send five bombs behind Catherine. Have player 1 walk a few steps away from Catherine so that when you input 623E, the attack connects with Catherine but does not reach the five bombs you have already set.

When you think you're in the correct location, input the 623E attack and then immediately input 641236E (requires one bar of meter). The 623E should miss the five bombs, while the following 641236E will detonate them. If done correctly, the resulting combo will be more than 50 hits and the font of the combo counter should still be blue, unlocking the achievement. If the combo counter is red, this was not a "true" combo (opponent could air recover during) and you will need to try again; the most likely reason for not being a true combo is that the 641236E is being inputted too late after the 623E connects.

Voice of Hope and Reason: Executed a 50-hit combo using only the special moves and super moves of the Arcana of Sound.

Wind Arcana

Without the Ragnarock fight in this game this is now quite irritating, but it shouldn't take too long to get. Play as Clarice (the opponent shouldn't matter for this, but I had Petra) and arrange it so that player 2 is standing roughly in the centre of the stage, with player 1 in the corner. If correct, inputting 236E should cause the Sicilis projectile to miss player 2 and come back to you.

Input 236E to throw a Sicilis, and as it comes back to you double jump straight up before using the j.D homing attack to fly towards the opponent. Upon landing, immediately jump over player 2 and then air dash (performed by inputting 66) twice towards the new corner. Upon landing, double jump straight up and homing attack towards opponent. Jump over the opponent again, performing two more air dashes towards the new corner. Upon landing, immediately jump towards the corner, double jump towards the corner and then homing attack back to player 2. Continue this movement, avoiding the Sicilis until the achievement pops up.

Here is a video of me unlocking the achievement, as it is difficult to follow in words:

https://youtu.be/lO-kj3OTk7Q

Tag! You're It!: Kept a single "Sicilis" attack on-screen for at least ten seconds.
Step 3: Arcana, part 3
Mirror Arcana

Against every character in the game, perform the following Mirror Arcana attacks: 236E, 236236E (requires one bar of meter), j.236E, and j.236236E (requires one bar of meter). The attacks do not need to connect with the opponent, they only need to come out.

This includes Parace L'Sia, so you need to perform these moves against her in Trial Mode's Trial 10, gold medal fight. That is the only tricky fight, as the remaining 24 characters can be done one after the other in VS mode, quitting back to character select once the four moves have been performed.

Linked in the Progress Checklist section of this guide is a spreadsheet you can download to keep track of which characters you have performed the Mirror Arcana attacks against, if necessary (I couldn't recommend enough that you do have some sort of tracking system in place for this- see below).

You can help improve this guide!

There is a chance that I was not paying full attention when tracking this achievement, which caused me to miss performing a mirror attack against Parace...twice, on both of the accounts I've 100% this game with, without realising it.

As of right now, I have only unlocked this achievement on an older manifest than the one we are currently playing on- it may be possible that the achievement doesn't unlock at all on the 8 March 2018 manifest, but it's more likely I'm just an idiot who struggles to track what I've mirrored against Parace because both of the times I did unlock this achievement it popped during another fight against her.

If this achievement has not unlocked for you and you're certain that you've correctly performed all the mirrors without Parace's constant attacks interrupting any of them, make a copy of your save file ("ahsave.dat", in the Save folder where your AH3LMSSS executable is kept) and move it to another directory for safekeeping. Using the steps outlined in the "Downloading the older version of the game" section of the guide, download the original 10 January 2018 manifest of the game using the command "download_depot 661990 661991 7903808124870249961", and adjust the manifest number in the "appmanifest_661990" file to be "7903808124870249961". Boot the game up and create a save file, then replace that save with the copy you recently backed up. Go straight through Trial mode and fight Parace again, you should get the achievement when mirroring her with each attack (I got mine on just the second move I performed, which makes me pretty sure I simply missed it the first time).

Once unlocked, backup your save again and then go back to playing on the 8 March 2018 manifest after altering the manifest number of "appmanifest_661990" back to "8264436335407140840" (this is why we made a desktop copy of it at the very start, much faster to change manifests!). Let it create new save data and then replace it with your backup, and we're good to go again- the reason we do not play the full game on the 10 January 2018 manifest is because Minori does not yet have working Link Anime included, which is needed for another achievement.

If however you unlocked this achievement just fine on the 8 March 2018 manifest, please let me know so I can confirm this achievement doesn't need an older version! I will be sure to credit you for the confirmation.

...Sincerest Form of Flattery: Saw every version of "Phasma" and "Phantasia".
Step 4: Online Achievements
You may be surprised, but playing on this older version of the game doesn't stop us from playing online! Which is a good job too, as one of the online achievements is unobtainable on the newest version.

I boosted the online achievements with myself, using my second account and second PC. I had downloaded the older version of the game to both PCs, so cannot confirm if you can play online with someone who is running the latest version or not. Having played through the game on the latest version first in order to make a list of which achievements are actually unobtainable however, I can say this: I crashed constantly when boosting ranked matches on the latest version, and did not crash once when boosting on this older version. Even if different versions can play together, I would still strongly advise the second player boosting uses the old version as well because the game seems to be much more stable for netplay.

To begin with, go to Options, Title Options, Set random title to be given a custom title. Then head into Network, select Player Match and pair up with your boosting account to play one match here.

If That's What You Think, Then Good For You!: Played a match in Network Mode with a custom Super-Duper Awesome Title.
Plays Well With Others: Played your first Player Match.

Then it's on to Ranked Match, where you will need to defeat all 24 characters of the base game as well as win 100 total ranked matches (note that the achievement description states play 100 Ranked, but it is in fact win 100). If you have been changing characters so that a boosting partner can also unlock the achievements, once you have finished defeating each fighter it is recommended that you play out the remaining matches using either Weiß if you own a controller with a turbo function, or Angelia if you do not. If you are boosting by yourself, once you have won the 24 matches against the individual characters you can set up automatic grinding using two turbo controllers:

Player 1 (account getting the achievements) maps their "menu confirm" button to be Heavy Attack and sets it to turbo, whilst player 2 (boosting account) maps their "menu confirm" button to be Homing Attack and sets it to turbo. The game will remember which character is your preferred character for Ranked Match and will continue to match the two accounts together, in which player 2 will dash into player 1's Heavy Attacks forever.

Throw Down the Gauntlet.: Played your first Ranked Match.
Rank and File: Won your first Ranked Match.
Good Morning, Angels: Fought and defeated all the characters in Network Mode.
Fear no Foe!: Played in 50 Ranked Matches.
Just Getting Started, Buddy!: Played in 100 Ranked Matches.

Step 5, Final Modes
We're on the last few modes now! Select Survival Score Attack Mode, and play as Angelia with the Metal Arcana.

Despite being a survival mode, you can actually use as many continues as you wish to get to the end so there's not actually any stakes involved here. Have Angelia charge three bars of meter using 4E, and then use her Critical Heart (mash A+B+C) to get through to the end.

God is Dead...: Defeated Kamui in Survival Score Attack Mode.

We will tackle the final mode now, Time Attack Mode. The challenge here comes from having to beat it in under 10 minutes, which I found very aggravating during my playthough of the old game until I realised I was playing far, far too defensively.

Firstly, make sure you have buttons mapped to both A+B+C as well as just B+C. Select Angelia, and then select Simple Mode. This locks us into her default Light Arcana, however you gain meter so much faster in Time Attack Mode that it doesn't matter.

For each match in Time Attack Mode, begin by spamming 3B, 3B. In Simple Mode this is now her vertical charge attack, except it doesn't require a charge to perform it. It has a follow up attack in the air, which makes it control like Pikachu's upB special in Smash Bros: 3B, 3B creates a zigzagging attack that often hits the opponent and builds meter very fast even when it isn't hitting anything. As soon as you have three bars of meter, press the button mapped to B+C to perform a completely consistent activation of her Critical Heart, every time you need it! This should KO an opponent that has already been taking hits from 3B spam. Once the second round starts, immediately press the button mapped to A+B+C to enter Extend Force and then press your B+C button for an Extended Critical Heart, which does even more damage than the usual Critical Heart. If you think they are on low enough health that you can quickly finish them off with 3B spam then do so, otherwise wait a ridiculously short amount of time to have your three bars of meter refill and press B+C again.

Once you reach Fiona, you only need to win one round against her before it begins the final match of Fiona paired with a permanent Mildred. This is the hardest fight in Time Attack Mode (and really, the only one that should be considered hard at all), but if Mildred doesn't give you bad luck by casting invincible supers to dodge your Critical Hearts, you should still be able to win this match in a minute or shorter. If you do get unlucky and time goes past 10 minutes, do not get angry about it as Time Attack Mode runs are an excellent farming method for unlocking memories, which we still need lots of at this point in the game.

It's Okay to Bust that Ghost, Right?!: Defeated Fiona in Time Attack Mode.
Faster! Faster! Go Go GO!: Cleared Time Attack Mode within 20 minutes.
Over Before it Began...?: Cleared Time Attack Mode within 10 minutes.

There's been four achievements I haven't mentioned yet that are very easy to get by accident, they take no time at all so if you haven't unlocked them yet, let's get them now!

  • Set Rounds to Win (VS) to 1 round and pick Angelia with Metal Arcana. Charge with 4E until you have three bars, get the opponent to low health and then KO them with a Critical Heart (mash A+B+C).
  • Rematch and charge up your meter again but this time, KO them with an Extended Critical Heart (activate Extend Force with A+B+C when Force Gauge is at 100%, then mash A+B+C).
  • Rematch and this time, block with player 1 and use a slow attack like 5C with player 2. As you block it, input A+B+C to perform an Extended Blast. Bring player 2 to low health and then KO them with an Arcana Blaze (Activate Extend Force with A+B+C when Force Gauge is at 100%, then input 236A+B+C).

Critically Acclaimed: Won using Critical Heart.
Of Critical Importance: Won using an Extended Critical Heart.
Un-Natural Female Enhancement: Executed an Extended Blast while guarding.
With Our Powers Combined!: Won using Arcana Blaze

We've got a grind coming up very soon, so take a quick rest. Go into Training Mode, select your character and then idle for 15mins.

No Train No Gain: Practiced for 15 minutes straight in Training Mode.
Step 6: Pre-Fight Animations
It's now time to view all of the unique pre-fight animations. As an interesting note, this is still achievable in the latest release of the game but only if you've also viewed the pre-fight animations of the two DLC characters, which are not required on the version we're playing on right now!

You can knock out all of the pre-fight animations in VS Mode against a human-controlled second player, and you do not need to finish the matches. In fact, you do not even have to watch the pre-fight animations, as you can press the start button to skip ahead and then pause the game to quit out to character select. Without the DLC characters, the total amount of animations to view is 116:

  • Akane vs Akane, Heart, Kamui, Konoha, Maori, Nazuna, and Yoriko
  • Angelia vs Angelia, Fiona, Kamui, Maori, Petra, and Yoriko
  • Catherine vs Catherine, Dorothy, Kira, Konoha, Mei-Fang, and Petra

  • Dorothy vs Dorothy, Fiona, Lieselotte, Lilica, and Zenia
  • Eko vs Eko, Minori, Petra, Scharlachrot, Weiß, and Zenia
  • Elsa vs Elsa, Fiona, Maori, Petra, and Yoriko
  • Fiona vs Fiona, Kira, Lilica, and Saki
  • Heart vs Heart, Konoha, Lieselotte, Maori, Minori, Petra, Saki, and Weiß
  • Kamui vs Kamui, Konoha, Lieselotte, Lilica, Maori, Minori, Nazuna, Petra, Saki, Scharlachrot, Weiß, Yoriko, and Zenia
  • Kira vs Kira, Lilica, Maori, Mei-Fang, and Petra
  • Konoha vs Konoha, Lilica, Mei-Fang, Nazuna, Yoriko, and Zenia

Linked in the Progress Checklist section of this guide is a spreadsheet you can download to keep track of which characters you have viewed the pre-fight animations of, if necessary.

And if you were interested about the DLC characters, their pre-fight animations are:
  • Pistrix vs Dorothy, Pistrix, Scharlachrot, and Weiß
  • Dark Heart vs Dark Heart, and Heart

You're the Only One for Me: Viewed all of the unique character-related pre-fight animations.
Step 7: Link Anime, part 1
We will now knock out all the Link Anime for every character- this one is a bit more time consuming as we will need to finish the matches, but it can still be done in VS mode against a human-controlled second player. Make sure you turn Link Anime on at the character select screen every time!

For all of the below matches, have player 2 as Clarice and when it is a match player 2 will win, use Clarice's infinite juggle with 5E in the corner to ensure the "Damage" animation unlocks.

For the sake of avoiding repetition of inputs in this section: Arcana Blast is performed by first activating Extend Force (A+B+C when Force Gauge is 100%), and then during Extend Force inputting 236A+B+C. Critical Hearts always require three bars of meter perform, so any fight with a Critical Heart will utilise charging meter with the Metal Arcana's 4E skill unless otherwise mentioned.

You can check which Link Anime you still need to unlock by looking in the Gallery.

Parace L'Sia

Parace's links are a requirement for this achievement, but all become unlocked when defeating her in Trial Mode's Trial 10, gold medal fight.

Once you've finally played through all these matches, you'll unlock the last of the achievements currently unobtainable in the latest version!

Team Up of Angel and Life: Starting from the character's initial state, perform a combo that includes using "Elixier Katalysator", and return back to the character's state all within the combo.
Step 8: Final Grind
We've now only got three tasks left:
  1. Raising a character to 10,000LP
  2. Unlocking all Memory Sub Stories
  3. Unlocking all the illustrations in the Gallery- the Visual 1 and Visual 2 sections

The gallery illustrations are unlocked by watching the memories, and the memories are unlocked by winning fights, and participating in fights also gives us LP.

Let's get the full set of memories first. If you do not have a controller with a turbo function, I recommend repeating runs of Time Attack Mode with Angelia, as you will rack up wins fast with her Critical Heart spam that we abused in step 5 of this guide.

If you do have a turbo controller available, map your confirm button to Heavy Attack and set it to turbo on the Survival Score Attack Mode. The game will select Weiß and win a few matches against the early opponents by spamming 5C. Once Weiß is KO'ed the game will quickly skip through the continue screen and begin a new run, automatically picking up memories and LP for you while you do something else (this is why I recommended you play the remaining Ranked Matches as Weiß or Angelia depending on your set up, as they seem to be the best choices to max out LP).

I Remember EVERYTHING!: Unlocked all of the "Memories" side-stories.

I'm pretty sure the illustrations have more than one method of unlocking, particularly the illustrations that include more than one character. If I had waited until every memory was unlocked before tracking this I would probably have a different list, however these are the memories that unlocked an illustration for me:
  • Akane: Main Story #3 and #5, Sub Story #1 and #5
  • Angelia: Main Story #1, #4 and #5, Sub Story #1, #2, #4, #5, #7, and #10
  • Catherine: Main Story #1, Sub Story #1, #3 and #6
  • Clarice: Main Story #2, Sub Story #1 and #5
  • Dorothy: Main Story #2 and #5, Sub Story #2 and #5
  • Eko: Main Story #1 and #5, Sub Story #1
  • Elsa: Main Story #3 and #5, Sub Story #3, #7 and #9
  • Fiona: Main Story #1, #3, #4 and #5, Sub Story #1, #2, #4 and #5
  • Heart: Main Story #2, #4 and #5, Sub Story #3, #5 and #7
  • Kamui: Main Story #2 and #5, Sub Story #2, #4, #7, #9 and #10
  • Kira: Main Story #1, #3 and #5, Sub Story #3, #5 and #10
  • Konoha: Main Story #1 and #5, Sub Story #1, #3, #6, #9 and #10
  • Lieselotte: Main Story #2, #3 and #5, Sub Story #1, #4, #6 and #10
  • Lilica: Main Story #1, #4 and #5, Sub Story #1, #5, #6 and #9
  • Maori: Main Story #1 and #5, Sub Story #3, #4 and #6
  • Mei-Fang: Main Story #1, #2 and #5, Sub Story #9 and #10
  • Nazuna: Main Story #3 and #5, Sub Story #4 and #7
  • Petra: Main Story #5
  • Saki: Main Story #1 and #5, Sub Story #1, #3, #5, #6 and #10
  • Scharlachrot: Main Story #1, Sub Story #1
  • Weiß: Sub Story #1, #3 and #5
  • Yoriko: Main Story #4 and #5, Sub Story #1, #5, #8 and #10
  • Zenia: Sub Story #1 and #2

When I viewed Fiona's Story Mode #5, it unlocked all of the remaining Visual 1 and Visual 2 illustrations for me (a total of 40 illustrations!). This was the 284th memory I cleared (of 345 total), and it made Fiona the 18th character that I had cleared all five of the Main Story memories, but neither of these figures stand out as particular landmarks. I'm not sure what causes the game to decide to unlock all of the remaining illustrations, but it will at some point if you view enough memories.

Do note that you need to exit the Gallery and then enter again to unlock the achievement.

I Was Just Looking!: Unlocked all of the illustrations in Gallery Mode.

The only thing left to do now is the long grind to 10,000LP! Here are the recommended options:

Turbo Controller, One PC

Map Homing Attack to your confirm button, and go through Survival Score Attack Mode. Now that we have all the memories, Weiß no longer needs to win matches and can just fly into the opponent until she is KO'ed- you'll gain LP faster by losing the first match of Survival Score Attack Mode than you do winning it, assuming you're only winning the first few fights.

This method should get you roughly 440LP per hour.

Two Turbo Controllers, Two PCs

If you've been boosting the online achievements by yourself and you have two controllers with turbo functions, join a Player Match with your boosting account and map their confirm button to Homing attack, while your confirm button is mapped to Heavy attack. You can customise online Player Matches to be one round only, and depending on the ranks of the characters being used you can expect between 12-20LP per match.

This method should get you a minimum of 720LP per hour, with higher ranked characters providing 850-1100LP per hour.

No Turbo, Two PCs

If you do not have a controller with a turbo function but was boosting the online achievements with yourself, Player Matches with your second account is still the best way to go. Angelia has a good ranged 6C and will mostly connect with the opponent while you're idly pressing the button looking at something else. If you're focusing on the screen, you'll likely be finishing matches faster than the turbo controllers do and could likely expect a minimum of 800LP per hour.

No Turbo, One PC

It's unlikely that you'll find someone else boosting this achievement at the time you're going for it, so let's assume Player Match is no longer an option now. Play through Survival Score Attack Mode until you reach stage 23, which is Angelia with a permanent Mildred. You'll lose this fight much faster than turbo controller Weiß loses to Fiona on stage 1, you just need to be paying attention to the screen in order to hit the continue before time runs out. It's 8LP per loss, so if you can lose twice per minute that will get you 960LP per hour.

Once you finally hit 10,000LP, you've done it! You've completed a game that not many people can say they have, and with it requiring the Steam console to download an old version I think it's a pretty cool, memorable completion. Congratulations on your perfect game!

Thanks
Thank you for reading the guide, I hope it's been helpful for you. I would not have been able to write this without the following information available online that helped me 100% the previous game, Arcana Heart 3 LOVE MAX!!!!!:

  • The excellent Trial Mode guide by Steam user RivetingWeeb, who was also kind enough to allow me to include their work in this guide.
  • The Link Animation Guide[gamefaqs.gamespot.com] for the PS3 version of LOVE MAX!!!!!, made by GameFAQS user Hanzaemon which has the most information on how exactly the Link Anime special victories work, as the rest of the internet is quite vague regarding them.
  • The Achievement Guide & Roadmap[www.playstationtrophies.org] on Playstation Trophies that had some useful information regarding the more finnicky Arcana achievements.
  • This Time Attack video by YouTube user AnimeHokageHD that showed me I was being far too defensive and had to start attacking if I had any hopes of getting a sub-10 minute completion time.
  • Playstation Trophies member Thedah, who first suggested the turbo grinding methods.

And an additional, and biggest, thanks to Steam user saturnalorbit, as if they had not suggested the idea of playing on an older manifest of the game in this thread I would not have experimented with seeing if these achievements were possible. This completion is thanks to you!

Thanks for the guide! Works perfectly. I can't tell you if you need the old manifest for the Mirror arcana achievement since I've used it when I didn't see the achievement popped. Turns out I've missed one for Weiss for some reason. I still need ''Good Morning, Angels'' if anyone passes by.
