Smooth framerate on high-Hz monitors
由 Grin 制作
I have a 75Hz monitor. The game shows stable fps, but at the same time you can feel some micro-lag when you look around. The following steps helped me achieve smoothness, like in modern games.

Solution
Step 1.
Install latest version of DXVK[github.com]
<archive>/x32 folder
Copy d3d9.dll and dxgi.dll to the game folder \Borderlands 2\Binaries\Win32

Step 2.
Steam settings > Downloads > Shader pre-caching
Turn ON both options.

Step 3.
In-game settings: Options > Video > Framerate
Select "Smoothed 22-62 FPS"
Disable V-Sync (in-game).
Close the game.

Step 4.
\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config\WillowEngine.ini

Find the line: MaxSmoothedFrameRate=62
Change it to: MaxSmoothedFrameRate=<Your monitor's herz (75/120/144 etc.)> For me it is 75, so MaxSmoothedFrameRate=75
Check this line: bSmoothFrameRate=True

Step 5.
I dont like tearing, so i turn on V-sync (even with G-SYNC enabled) in NVCP (Nvidia Control Panel). If you dont like V-sync, I recommend to try both options: On and Off.

Additional information.
Windows 10 22H2 19045.5965
Nvidia drivers - 576.88 (Jul 1, 2025)
G-SYNC settings: On, Full screen and windowed
My mouse poll rate is 1000. At 125/250/500 the game got a little stuttering while looking around with mouse (not smooth).
Disabled mouse smoothing using the following method:
\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\Config\WillowInput.ini
bEnableMouseSmoothing=false

The first step seems like nonsense, because why would the game read this dll. But I followed every step nonetheless and it fixed the stutters, thanks!
