Must read/Start of guide.

This guide will be long, simply this game is too in depth to summarise everything. I have sourced all of my information from community resources from the CN/TW/KR servers (credits at the bottom) for you to have an even more in-depth look at the game.

Also this game is not a re-roll favoured game, best to just start with what you get. This is due to getting about 20 pulls in 40 mins of re-rolling and most early characters not being viable in meta (looking at you YUI). However if you MUST, go for Rin + Ann as a base, and hope for Puppet, Okyann and Leon as 4 stars.

Conversion from HSR/Genshin

Important Tips and Information
This is where all the most important info from all resources will be. Use this as a TLDR.
- Your MC is needed in every team, use him as a support.
- No early game gacha characters are worth pulling, hold out until Chord’s release (Mid-Late August from the roadmap).
- Chord’s weapon is also one of the only ones you should try to get as F2P for the HL.
- Other weapons are a premium for most, if you like the character, go for it. Else the 4 stars are good enough.
- Puppet, Okyann and Leon are some of the best 4 stars, being Navi’s and a buffer respectively.
- Focus on the Business Plan early, taking Morgana > Ann > Ryuji
- Only ever use your Meta Jewels on Platinum tickets or Milicoins
- The Exclusive bond is safer and risk averse, however the Fated bond is riskier but could save you some pulls. F2P is more efficient to use exclusive as it also gives a random standard after 165 pulls.
- Do your beginner banner pull’s first, usually taking Ann/Panther unless you already own her.
- Ann’s weapon is one of the only good standard character ones, Leon’s is amazing as well.
- More characters is better than A6 characters
- Reruns do exist, there is a selector rerun too called Super Reruns allowing you to pick from 3 characters.
- Refer to Meta guide for who to look out for.
- For early game metaverse stamina usage prioritise upgrade materials, then switch to Revelation Cards once you hit level 60 as then you guarantee the gold cards.
- Character builds can be found in the community discord in the credits.
FAQ
Are tier lists any good?
Not necessarily as they do not portray their performance in actual teams, and given how the meta works in this game, you should not rely solely on a tier list.

What's the best use for my Meta Jewels (the main gacha currency, think primogems or asterite)?
Only spend them on Platinum Tickets (Limited Banner) and Milicoins (Weapon Banner)

How does the gach work?
Character banners:
- Fated Bond (80 pity, 50/50 and 0.8% base rate)
- Exclusive Bond (110 pity, guaranteed and 0.2% base rate)
This will be elaborated on more in the Gacha System Part.

How do teams/team building work in this game?
In most content, you will use:
1 DPS
MC (Wonder) as a support
A Support character
Another Support character or sustain if needed
Navigator
Outside of this format will be for more specific bosses/content

Are there end game modes?
Yes! The three of them are:
Sea of Souls Trials: Seasonal mode where you bring two teams to score as many points against two bosses (think like HSR’s Apoc Shadow).
Doors of Nightmare: Seasonal mode where you team up with your guildmates in Paradise to raid bosses for rewards.
Astrolabe Trials: A gamemode where you have to clear various battles with a limited number of uses per character and attempts for Mental Image upgrade materials (Kind of like WuWa Tower of Adversity).

Biggest early game tips?
- Do your dailies! These are so important.
- Always finish events, they are most the rewards for every patch and will help you get all the characters you want.
- This is a Persona game, do your social stats and Synergies for both perks and meta jewel (prio like this: Synergies of Characters you like > Meta Jewels > Merope and Tomoko Synergies > Part-time Job >= Raising Kindness ).
- Prioritise Lufel’s Business plan to help you get used to the game (very important early game)
- Paradise and Doors of nightmares are vital for getting Universe Cards (part of the relic system).
- Due to this game being “behind” other servers you can easily plan your pulls for meta, and avoid bait banners (such as characters going on Standard banner in the future).
- Try to complete your Persona Compendium for Inspiration for Wonder
- Always buy the important Items from monthly shops, those being:
Cognition Shop: 5 platinum tickets and 5 gold tickets for Clear Cognigems.
Carpe Diem Shop: 4 Random gold universe cards and 2 gold tickets for Carnival coins, 1 gold ticket and 1 Coffee Aid for tycoon points.
Velvet Shop: 2 gold tickets for stardust.
My palace shop: Various mental image materials.
For Team Building advice:
- Always have one ST (Single Target) and one AOE (Area of effect) team.
- In early game, only prioritise getting Revelation Cards that have the right main stats, worry about substats later on.
- Only upgrade skills you need early to save materials.
- You can get ALL 4 star weapons using Gecko Coins in Iwai’s shop
- A character's weapon level is shared between all of their weapons, don't be afraid to level the low rarity ones.
Key terms/Currencies/Items
Main key terms are:
- Wonder - The MC of the game
- Synergies (Confidants) - The social links of the games, used to get certain benefits for social/fun/currency.
- Superego Level (S-LVL) - after MC hits max level, which is 80 for every character, they earn S-LVL giving a small increase to core stats such as HP, DEF and ATK.
- Awareness - this is the Constellation/Eidolons/Ascensions for the characters essentially dupes/copies, they give different effects and bonuses with most A6 being best, however this game as a F2P it is better to get more characters than Awareness levels.
- Reform - the same for weapons, it is the dupe level going to R6 which buffs their effects.
- Revelation Cards - a set of 4 arcana cards, much like a relic set that triggers effects on 2piece/4pieces being equipped.
- Universe Cards - a 5th arcana card that is unique and adds onto the revelation cards, giving certain effects with certain sets of Revelation cards.
- Mental image - unlocked via Wonder hitting level 70 this is an advanced upgrade system to your characters that allows you to further upgrade their stats and skills.
- HL/Highlight - A new feature to this game are Highlight which are similar to Showtime. After charging up a meter, a character can be selected and they will use a Highlight much like HSR ultimates. Some Highlight like Lufel's are stat buffs or health recovery rather than attacks. The protagonist's highlight has different versions depending on which type Persona that he has summoned with during the battle. Persona 3 characters (Makoto Yuki, Yukari and Akihiko) Have theurgy's in place of this.

General Progression
Wonder’s level and Superego level:
Wonder is the main protagonist, he must be a part of every team and gains XP in different ways to other characters. A large majority is earned through main and side quests, XP is also gained through spending stamina and collecting daily rewards as well as events.

Much like other gacha games, Wonder’s level influences how high your other characters can be levelled by an extra 10, for example if Wonder is level 10, your other characters can be level 20 all up to the max level of 80. Above level 80 your wonder earns S-LVL or Superego level, which provides a small increase to their core stat.

Characters level, Weapon levels and Experience:
Characters other than Wonder can receive a small amount of XP from normal gameplay, getting their majority from farmable in-game materials (listed above), and every 10 levels they will need to ascend/breakthrough to reach the threshold for the next 10 levels, up to 80 again. The same with weapons.

Character Classes

Character Classes determine what role the character will play in a team. P5X currently has the following roles:

Sweeper
Medic
Assassin
Guardian
Deals with groups of foes through multi-target attacks.
Specializes in healing skills that restore the party's HP.
Takes down single enemies with targeted attacks.
Protects allies and increases the party's defense.

Strategist
Elucidator
Saboteur
Buffs allies' stats to improve their combat abilities.
Helps allies from off-field with buffs and support skills.
Debuffs foes' stats to give the party the upper hand.

Skills
Every character has an Awareness 0, which is the core mechanic tied to their kit, they also have 3 active skills, 1 Combat arts skill and 2 Passive skills. Additionally they also have a HIGHLIGHT/Theurgy which is essentially an ultimate.

Navigators are support units that aren’t an active unit, they play a passive support role, however they are some of the best units within the game, so do not neglect them especially since they share a % of their base stats with the rest of your team.

Weapons
Characters weapons are most often unique to their character, for example Joker can only use Joker's weapon and cannot use Fox’s however there are some exceptions. Iwai appears as the weapons dealer in this game, allowing you to buy weapons with In-game currencies. Weapon levels are also shared between different qualities for the same character, don’t be afraid to level up 4 star weapons.

Awareness and Reform
Awareness and Reform, much like other gachas, are the reference to duplicate characters and weapons respectively, they usually provide benefits, with the 6th being the biggest change to the characters kit changing their playstyle/utility. This is mainly for whales/light spenders as for F2P it is better to focus on multiple characters.

Arcana Cards
This is P5X’s relic system, you have 5 pieces:
- 4 Revelation Cards (RC) Revelation Cards have 4 types, indicated by its icon on the top left: Sun, Moon, Star and Planet.
- 1 Universe Card (UC)
The RC’s have 2pc and 4pc effects like most relic systems, and the UC has an additional effect that triggers when being paired with certain 4pc RC sets. So usually there will be a meta set that you are heavily advised to use.
All cards contain Main and Sub stats, all of which improve the power of your characters. Getting the most optimal combination/best rolls of these stats is a common activity you will spend your time on in the endgame, usually the main grind however in early game, just prioritise the best Main stats for your characters.

Mental Image
This is an advanced upgrade system that unlocks after Wonder reaches level 70, allowing you to further upgrade character’s stats and skills. They mainly use rare materials that are obtained through Velvet trials and Astrolabe trials. Here is a link to the Mental Image upgrade priorities P5X Mental Image Guide [docs.google.com]

Wonder’s Skill Tree - Inspiration Tree
Wonder cannot equip Arcana cards, however they have a skill tree called the Inspiration Tree. You can consume Inspiration Glow, Inspiration Sparks and Inspiration Points in order to upgrade this.
Inspiration Points: Obtained through filling the Persona Compendium. Used to increase Wonder’s stats.
Inspiration Sparks: Obtained through Velvet Trials, Mementos and Palace exploration. Used to increase Wonder’s: 1 More, HIGHLIGHT, Melee Attack and Gun Attack effectiveness; Personas’ innate signature skill levels; and Personas’ other active skill levels.
Inspiration Glow: Obtained through increasing your Wonder Level up past level 80 (reaching S-Level). Used to additionally increase Wonder’s HP/DEF/ATK. You can do this up to S-Lv 99.

The priority for Wonder stat upgrades should be: CRIT Rate/EHR > ATK >> HP/DEF/CRIT DMG >>> Healing Bonus%/Shield Bonus%/Effect RES
Do note that for most nodes, you have to upgrade preceding nodes in order to reach them. For example, to max out the CRIT Rate node, you have to max out the preceding ATK% node.
General Progression Cont.
Wonder’s Weapons
Wonder has a variety of Daggers they can use as weapons, which are all obtained without gacha. These are the best daggers to prioritise obtaining.

Wonder Daggers
Surging Echoes
Decent sustain dagger for Wonder. This will be the only useful support dagger for a while before Mechanical Executioner, so be sure to max it.
Obtaining Method: Palace 2 Exploration
Mechanical Executioner
Great utility dagger for Wonder. Increases all allies’ ATK and Elemental DMG Bonus depending on Wonder’s starting Persona’s element.
Obtaining Method: Palace 3 Exploration

Ancient Force Field
Great utility dagger for Wonder. Decreases the enemy’s DEF based on the number of Elemental Ailments present. Most often used with Vino, who applies Elemental Ailments frequently.
Obtaining Method: Destinyland Shop
Astro Orb
Great utility dagger for Wonder. Essentially applies a permanent DEF Down debuff on all enemies. Can also increase all allies’ EHR and Psy DMG Bonus if the conditions are met.
Obtaining Method: Destinyland Shop

Personas
As for Wonder, they can use 3 personas that you make yourself, much like an MC of other persona games. These can be obtained in 5 ways: Normal Battles, Gacha, Metaverse Persona Farming stages, fusion and the Persona shop.

You will mainly obtain Personas through fusion and the Persona Shop. Most of the time you will need to obtain at least 1 from the farming stages, so it's best to grind them for both the drop and the Persona Emblems allowing you to buy further ones from the shop.

Personas use the same class system as characters. Each persona has a rank and rarity, the ranks ranging from I - VIII. Though some lower rank personas still have a use in end game, such as Succubus and Ame-no-Uzume. You can also Inherit Skills onto a targeted persona from another targeted one, using either random inheritance (rng of which skill is picked) or a skill card inheritance which allows you to guarantee which skill is inherited; these can be purchased from the Persona shop, but are more expensive than the random inheritance.

Lufel’s Business Plan
Your best friend in the early game, this is a set of objectives serving as a guide for new players, it is divided into 4 parts with 7 steps, giving very useful rewards. There is also a major reward after every part, those being:
Part 1: A choice for a free 5* between Mona, Panther or Skull
Part 2: A choice for a free 5* weapon for Mona, Panther or Skull
Part 3: A choice for a free 5* Awareness Shard for Mona, Panther, Skull, Marian, Rin or Riddle
Part 4*: A choice for a free 5* weapon for Mona, Panther, Skull, Marian, Rin or Riddle, as well as for all 1.0 4 star characters
For a more in-depth guide refer to this: Ruferu's Business Plan Guide [docs.google.com]

Social Stats and Synergies (Confidants)
Like Persona games, there are social stats for Wonder that can be upgraded in many ways, there are 20 levels per stat, and some of these levels limit certain Synergy ranks.
Synergies are your social links of P5X they appear randomly based on the time of day, however you can select preferred characters for the game to prioritise. Synergies have a max level of 20, and for the most part do not reward combat buffs. You can buy gifts with Yen for your Synergies, and many have both romance and friendship routes that you can change at any time with gacha currency.

The best synergies to prioritise are:
- Merope: Unlocks more Persona fusions. Helps you fill out the Persona Compendium which grants Wonder more Inspiration. You also unlock some decent Personas.
- Tomoko: Give more options for part-time work as well as increasing Social Stats gain during part-time work. This will allow you to buy more gifts and level up your Social Stats faster. Focus on Kindness for her.
- Miyu: Increase Synergy Fondness gain. This will help you progress Synergies faster. Focus on Kindness for her.
- Riko: Give more hangout places for your other Synergies. This will help you progress Synergies faster. Focus on Knowledge for her.
- Kiyoshi: Give you books which you can read on the train to school. This will provide additional Social Stat gains and other perks. Focus on Guts for him.
For a guide on synergies use this: P5X Confidants Spreadsheet [docs.google.com]

Metaverse farming stages
In the metaverse you can use Metaverse Stamina to enter domains and farm for materials such as:
- Upgrade/ascension materials
- Weekly boss fights
- Persona Emblems
- Personas
- Revelation Cards.
For early game, prioritise upgrade materials, then switch to Revelation Cards once you hit level 60 as then you guarantee the gold cards
Gacha System
The brief explanation of the most important part of this game, taken from A BREAKDOWN ON P5X’s GACHA SYSTEM [docs.google.com]
DO NOTE, AS OF CURRENT GLOBAL WE DO NOT HAVE THE 110/EXCLUSIVE BANNER
Fated Bond vs Exclusive Bond
Fated Bond
Exclusive Bond
★ Features
• 80 hard pity
• Soft pity starts at 70, with rising rates
• 0.8% base 5★ rate
• Has a 50/50 mechanic
★ Features
• 110 hard pity
• Soft pity starts at 70 (less rate increase)
• 0.2% base 5★ rate
• Guaranteed featured 5★ (no 50/50)
• Bonus: Random standard 5★ after 165 pulls
✔ Pros
• Easier to get 5★ (better rate & lower pity)
• Costs less Meta Jewels if you win 50/50 (≈ 10,500–12,000 MJ)
• Yields more characters on average
✔ Pros
• No 50/50 — always get the featured 5★
• Guaranteed outcome = safer investment
✖ Cons
• Losing 50/50 can be costly
• Worst-case cost: up to 21,000–24,000 MJ
✖ Cons
• Lower base rates & higher pity
• Costs more (≈ 13,500–16,500 MJ)
• Fewer overall characters gained
Notes:
• Fated Bond and Exclusive Bond do not share a pity count.
Conclusion:
• Choose Fated Bond if you want faster access to the featured character at a lower average cost — but are okay with some risk.
• Choose Exclusive Bond if you prefer a guaranteed, risk-free path — and are okay spending more.

Alongside this a lot of characters go onto the standard banner those being:
- Ann Takamaki (Panther)
- Ryuji Sakamoto (Skull)
- Morgana (Mona)
- Yaoling Li (Rin)
- Haruna Nishimori (Riddle)
- Minami Miyashita (Marian)
- Yumi Shiina (Phoebe)***
- Masaki Ashiya (Cherish)
- Runa Dogenzaka (Howler)***
- Mayumi Hashimoto (Turbo)*
The * symbolise importance however do not pull on their limited because of this.
Here is a guide that goes more in depth and that this table is from: A BREAKDOWN ON P5X’s GACHA SYSTEM [docs.google.com]
Before all of that, do prioritise finishing the Beginner banner to get Ann.
Meta/Future Gacha Planning
As the title implies, this is the most important info about meta, character pulls and in general what to do for the “Most Effective Tactics Available”. Below is a “tier list” on them, these tiers are based on how useful they are for your account, not just personal strength. Use this for more Limited character info: P5X Limited Units Summary Up To 4.1.3 [docs.google.com]

MUST PULL CHARACTERS (in order of importance)

Chord
Must Pull
Chord is the first meta-defining unit IMO, she generates more HL and HL energy (ultimate), buffs damage, and provides sustain. Very flexible support usable in most teams.

Oracle
Must Pull
Navi. One of few 5 stars so far, can apply weaknesses like Silver Wolf, has AoE DEF down. Amazing in any team.

Ange
Must Pull
Navi. Gives a target an extra turn, plus damage and penetration buffs. Has cleanse. One of the best picks for any team.

Howler (Standard)
Heavily Recommended
Limited character now on standard. Has Aura (her persona) and is a debuffer. Avoid limited version.

Wind Vast
Heavily Recommended
Support that boosts Crit Rate and Crit Damage. Simple but essential for many DPS.

Rin Lion Dance
Heavily Recommended
Technical DPS needing Burn for strength. Works well with supports like Matoi and Howler.

Violet
Heavily Recommended
Single-target DPS with unique HL. Hard-hitting but slow; pairs well with Chord.

Phoebe (Standard)
Heavily Recommended
5★ Navi on standard banner. Big ATK and HP buffer with unique cocktail passive boosting effects.

Queen
Heavily Recommended
Fast single-target DPS that requires Vino (4★ support). Strong pair if built together.

Mont Figure Skating
Heavily Recommended
Follow-up single-target DPS with two forms. Prefers Wind form and allies dealing wind damage.

Makoto Yuki
Heavily Recommended
Single-target DPS with great damage in 2 turns. Flexible, pairs well with Wind Vast and others.

Moko Summer
Recommend
Healer/sustain with buffs for EHR/ATK/HP and enemy damage taken. Great healer/support mix. Marian (standard) comparable at A1.

Noir
Recommend
Slow AoE DPS that excels with strong support. Works great with Oracle and Ange.

Closer Summer
Recommend
Quick AoE DPS with amazing survivability. Can also do single-target, always runs a healer.

Turbo (Standard)
Recommend
Great buffer, pairs well with Noir. Recommended from standard banner.

Here is the above in Tier List Format from a GOAT in the community Najox:

Previewing what they would pull, this shows how each unit is prioritised based on importance of pulling, as you can see, having a range of units is better than maxed of a few, although take with a grain of salt as this is just one person's opinion.

Here is also a weapon priority tierlist from Najox:
