Gone Fishin'
Catch your first fish.
Simply land your first catch in The Fork.
Good Friends
Pat your companion 10 times in one session.
Just keep petting your favorite companion 10 times when out on open water. Hold down or click on till you count that 10 hearts appeared.
Nap Time
Change the time of day.
Hover your cursor to the bottom right of the screen. It will change to "Zzz" then select desired time. You can also press the shortcut "Z" key and select a time that way.
Feeding Frenzy
Attract 5 fish to your lure at the same time.
Collected by getting any five fish to nudge at your line at the same time. Sink and reel your lure in to dodge fish that nibbled your line already. Sometimes a fish will just take the bait before nibbling, ruining your attempt.
  • Just a little bit away from the docks in Seals Rest, use the long bobber, you should find a large school of capelin to easily attempt this.
Fish Finder
Discover every species of fish.
You should be able to discover every species throughout the course of the game. Refer to your logbook to find appropriate location to find missing species. You can also refer to Ryuu's Logbook Compendium for an easier time!

Rusty's No.1 Customer
Buy and upgrade everything in the shop.
Collected by visiting Rusty's shop and purchasing all items and their respecitve upgrades for each rod and boat.
Fish Whisperer
Catch and release one of every fish species.
After reeling in a fish, instead of catching it, with a green checkmark. Move the cursor away from the boat to release fish when you see the red "X."
Trophy Hunter
Catch a trophy weight fish for all species.
Just keep target fishing for the desired trophy and double check your logbook. Its just a matter of time and luck. Should be noted that you only need the trophy size for each species and not every size.
Above Board
Catch an L sized fish without looking under the water surface.
Position yourself above desired sized fish location. Access the menu settings. Under "Camera," select the drop down menu and select "Always Above." After selecting your change. Cast your line and land the fish. The tables found below each section are areas just at the starting dock area, little to no movement really required. Super simple and easy!

Catch an XXL sized fish without looking under the water surface.
See "Above Board" for a tip on checking your settings. Double up your achievements by getting this with the Legendary Toothy Terror or the Legendary Quiet Giant for some very close off the dock fishing.

├ It's You Again
Catch a fish again after releasing it.
When attempting this, consider targeting legendary fish, like the Land Locked Lunker. They're typically easier to get alone without unnecessary bites from other fish. Making it easier to target fish and release. Another option is to target a school of fish choose between fishing/releasing till you get the achievement or leave all but one fish left of the school to attempt this achievement on.
├ Live Bait
Catch a fish with another fish.
Using lures like the Deep Bobber and an appropriate rod that can catch small, medium, and large fish will be needed. This trick can be done on Autumnwood Lake - Otter Cove. By catching a small fish first, combined with patience, will hopefully lead to a nearby large sturgeon taking the smaller fish.

*Note: There is currently an advantageous bug where you'll just earn the achievement simply by loading into the game. Needs to be tested if you can just constantly reload the game until it unlocks.
├ The One That Got Away
Lose a fish after fighting it for 2 minutes.
Try using a "weaker" rod (Copperleaf 86) and targeting Legendary Fish (Land Locked Lunker) or an XXL Halibut. Wait the 2 minutes out and then fail to reel it in. You must have the line break, fully reeling in and letting the fish go will not count. Got it my first attempt on the White Sturgeon, with plenty of fight left to give after 2 minutes. Consider pairing this attempt with "It's You Again" achievement.

Correct. That specific one does indeed require the line breaking and having to recatch the one that got away.

The "The One That Got Away" can you actually get when the line rips by reeling in. Just got it couple minutes ago.

Small updated now live that allows players to recatch legendary fish! Getting achievements got a little bit easier now.

Something similar happened to me, so I updated the guide to currently reflect an advantageous bug with the "Live Bait" achievement.

I had something weird happen where I couldn't cast, I then restarted and immediately got the "Live Bait" Achievement. I only have like 45 minutes in the game.

funny enough; i unlocked The One That Got Away by having a halibut get stuck in textures

@Xerdes that halibut did the trick, thanks! I had tried the pacific halibut and the atlantic salmon before for over an hour. Ended up having an XXL Halibut and used the new L X XL fluorent rod as with the Timberjack he would get free before the 2 minutes. Worked like a charm on the first try with that one, thanks

@Lucdre I went to seals rest and did it with the XL greenland halibut. Equipped timberjack and waited 2 minutes. Got it after few tries.

@Sugar Puff Monster I got that by using a deep bobber, SML fishing rod in the very last unlocked map from this update, catch the small fish and then wait for a bigger one to bite. Might take a bit.

Are there any tips for "The one that got away"? I've been catching fish, waiting 2 minutes and just full on reeling hoping to break the line but they are always super tired after 2 minutes and just get fished. The last one I'm missing.

How do you get the live bait achievement in this? Only one I have left from the new update
