Introduction
This guide is based on the following information:
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/iphone/824440-80-days-2014/faqs/71567
https://80days.fandom.com/wiki/80_Days_Wiki
Discussion posts helped me with the 40 days route and the Artificer Rescue/A Night in the Ruins.
Lac's guide also assisted me initially. Thank you!

Save Scumming

This guide uses save scumming heavily. This game doesn't feature a manual save so we can use save scumming to back-up the game folder and return to that spot.

You can find the game files at Users-(your user name)-AppData-LocalLow-Inkle Studios. Whenever I mention in the guide you should back-up your save, make a copy of the 80 Days folder from that directory and save it in another spot on your computer. You may want to consider more backups just in case. The more you back-up and reload saves, the bigger this file will get FYI.

Notes on Seeds

This game has 8 different "seeds" which affects route and market availability and contributes to the "randomness" of the game. I'm suggesting this walkthrough in a particular order based on these seeds. Some routes ONLY work on the seed I'm suggesting, others just need to be past a certain seed to work. Double check my notes on the seed to see if you can move things around.

Some things always are the same from seed to seed:
  • type of route (where the route is available) ex. gyrocopter or canoe...etc.
  • health damage taken on the route (not including mitigating clothing/items like Englishman's Wardrobe)
  • suitcase space on the route

The prices of travel, time of routes, and market items all change between seeds. It appears as though there is some consistency from folks sharing knowledge about items to help plan for specific seeds/routes.
Seed 1
Achievement Goals: The World’s Fair, Love in London, Despair in Vienna, Turn the Tide of War, Completed Trip

Notes: In my playthrough I did Despair in Vienna and Turn the Tide of War on a different seed. I think it should be possible here. All of these achievements can be done on any seed except Completed Trip which you are guaranteed to get when finishing seed 1.

  • Paris
  • Explore the fair for the easiest achievement The World’s Fair
  • Vienna
    • Explore and meet Herr Danzer
    • Give him wine and guess that the flute controls the automatons
    • Steal the flute when he isn’t looking
  • Back-up your save
  • Stay in a hotel in Vienna
    • Go to the lobby to listen to music
    • Eavesdrop at the bar to learn about travel to Istanbul through Belgrade
  • Belgrade
    • show the flute when stopped by a guard to get entry
    • When you disembark in Belgrade, give the flute to a member of the resistance for the Turn the Tide of War achievement
  • Reload your save in Vienna
  • Warsaw
  • Moscow (through Minsk)
  • Irkutsk (on the Trans-Siberian Express)
    • Go to the library car between Ekaterinaburg and Omsk and talk to Goland
    • Choose nice options and agree to meet her on the deck later
    • Meet her on the deck and give her a smooch!
    • She is heading for Urga so we must follow (she also gives us a Mongol Sulde, sweet)
  • Urga
    • Go to the Zuun Khuree temple to look for Goland (Dag, she isn’t here)
    • Show the monks the sulde and they will tell you about the Garuda to Yokohama (you can sell it after this)
  • Yokohama
  • San Francisco
    • There will be a mutiny on board and it is in our interest to fail it to go to Honolulu
    • To succeed, you need to
      • give sea sickness cure to a sailor,
      • entertain the crew
      • sabotage the shinto shrine (they blame the captain)
      • Tell the engineers “we should have submerged” and walk away
      • You can recruit the artificers by giving a mechanical trinket or badge
    • So purposely fail this and you will be ejected in Honolulu basically without consequence!
  • Acapulco - it will divert to Panama City, agree because this is helpful!
  • Lima - Meet Mr. Quispe who is going to Tabatinga - sounds fun
  • Tabatinga
    • The pilot will take pictures of Macchu Picchu along the way
    • Stay 3 nights here to run into the pilot again and he will fly you to Bogota and take your picture!
  • Caracas
  • Freetown
  • Marrakesh
  • Tangier
  • Lisbon
    • Explore or hotel here to run into Herr Danzer again
    • I had the flute still when I met him, but I don’t think this is required to get the Despair in Vienna achievement
  • London
    • Goland will be waiting for you because she saw your picture and you finished within 80 days! You will receive the Love in London and Completed Trip achievements for your struggles
Seed 2
Achievement Goals: Aboard Kahwoka Othunwe and Barreling Forward

Notes: This one I swapped from Seed 6 because @Omnisciurus advised that there is a whisky purchase available early in this route. We need whisky to ensure that the achievement above will work. Supposedly if you can make Passepartout sharp* you don't need it but I haven't figured out a good system of answers to ensure this. Whisky is easier and is available in Bucharest in Seed 6!

*Chart at the end of this guide for what sharp means

Make sure to read the news occasionally in Europe to try to unlock the Noelani experimental hovercraft (Yokohama-Honolulu) needed for seed 4.

  • Paris
  • Bucharest
  • Thessaloniki
  • Istanbul
  • Tehran
  • Kabul
  • Delhi
  • Madras
  • Colombo
  • Chittagong
  • Hong Kong
  • Yokohama
  • Honolulu
    • solve mystery as per Seed 4 if you want free travel, but otherwise it's fine to fail
  • San Francisco
  • Gastown
  • Calgary (or Regina - both tested)
    • Explore and interact with an event with indigenous folks and whisky traders
    • I don’t think the answers matter other than don’t leave
    • make sure to pick up the device that is dropped at the end!
  • Toronto
    • you will be intercepted in the air and taken to Kahwoka Othunwe for the Aboard Kahwoka Othunwe achievement
    • Choose answers that say “I’m a whisky trader”, show your whisky bottle and act guilty
  • Once found guilty, you will need to escape
    • Choose terrible ideas - switches and levers, parachutes, here goes nothing and ignore remembering docking procedures
    • This will get you Barreling Forward achievement and land you in Quebec City
  • Reykjavik
  • London to finish the seed
Seed 3
Achievement Goals: Greatest Treasure, Life of Crime, Saved from the Noose, The Ocean Floor

Notes: I believe all of these achievements can be done on other seeds other than seed 1 but other guides have suggested a randomness to the beginning of the Black Rose story line. If between London and Paris there is no crime, then whatever seed you are on isn't a good fit for Greatest Treasure and Life of Crime.

I did all of these together on Seed 3 in my own playthrough so I'm hoping it is the same for you.

Make sure to read the news occasionally in Europe to try to unlock the Noelani experimental hovercraft (Yokohama-Honolulu) needed for seed 4.

  • Paris
    • Along the way there will be a theft of a cigarette case, investigate and discover that they were the victim of the Black Rose
  • Nice
    • Meet Estelle and let her join you
  • Tunis
  • Luxor
    • Estelle will leave you and there will be something left in your case
    • Head to the place where the thing is valuable, in my case it was Columbo so that is where this walkthrough is continuing
  • Manama
  • Bombay
  • Madras
  • Columbo
    • At some point Estelle will visit you and reveal that she is the Black Rose and there is a big score in Buenos Aires
    • Agree to help and continue
  • Waltair
  • Rangoon - back-up save here
    • When you explore the city there will be a creature that strongly suggests you go to Pangsau Pass, it’s free, so let’s go
  • Pangsau Pass
    • Cause a distraction to save the rebel leader
    • Start a fire using the candles in barracks
    • announce the fire
    • ask if they can smell smoke
    • Run inside to save the rebel leader
    • This will get you the Saved from the Noose achievement and will provide you with free passage to Beijing (which we won’t use this run, but will later)
  • Reload your save in Rangoon
  • Batavia
  • Brisbane
    • As you approach Brisbane, take the option to dive on the Great Barrier Reef to get the The Ocean Floor achievement
  • Lima
  • Santiago - the Black Rose will say hi
  • Buenos Aires
    • Go to the tower and enter, announcing yourself as Passepertout, valet to Mr. Fogg and they will let you in
    • The Black Rose will slip in with you, back her up as a member of your party and get invited to the El Dorado
  • Dakar
    • On the El Dorado, you will come across a farming automaton that is cut in two
    • Help it and ask if it can determine what happened to is and it will tell you something is wrong with the ground
    • Look at the ground and you will discover a hatch
    • Show the Black Rose the hatch and explore it
    • Discover the true treasure of El Dorado for the Greatest Treasure achievement
  • When you arrive in Dakar, the Black Rose asks you to join her and say yes to get the Life of Crime achievement and end the run
Seed 4
Achievement Goals: 40 Days (and all others), No Hotels, No Banks, Crack the Case, Take That Varmit

Notes: This is a run that is specific to Seed 4 based off of discussion posts.

Use the comb as much as possible!
Check markets quickly for air travel gear from Paris-Moscow, I didn’t have any and it made the travel from Yokohama to Honolulu real tight (2 health).
I never saw American gear but that might help with the San Francisco - New York negotiation
I think the markets will be the same for you (since they were the same as the discussion post) but if not, keep an eye out to make money, this is an expensive trip!

  • Paris
  • Vienna
  • Warsaw
    • Talk to the Russian on the train to learn that the Trans Siberian can go way faster
  • Moscow (spend the night - not in a hotel)
  • Irkutsk
    • wager with the driver (it will fail but that’s okay)
    • follow Roza discreetly
    • then tell the driver and he will speed up the train!
  • Urga
    • buy buddha statue at the market
    • save the woman you find
    • ask her how she learned French
    • ask her to heal Fogg
  • Yokohama
    • Buy salve at the market if you have no air gear
  • Honolulu
    • solve the mystery:
      • Tell the truth and be positive until the investigation begins
      • Go to the scene
      • Imagine the scene, and learn about the steam valve that rights the boat
      • Speak with General Peters
      • Ask all of the questions and make sure to ask “what noises” and “I didn’t know Carlotta and Shu knew each other”
      • Speak with Ms. Carlotta
      • Ask what she was doing in the engine room, if she righted the boat, if she knows how the boat works
      • Say that the General said she knew Shu, ask about Shu’s reputation
      • Ask about herself, if she owns a competing line
      • Talk to the captain
      • Ask about Carlotta and Shu’s plan to buy the fleet, ask all the other questions
      • Tell the captain you have a theory
      • Hold your hand for silence
      • Lack of a scream
      • Not the important point
      • There was a louder noise that covered it
      • Perfectly timed
      • Time of death
      • How sure about the time
      • Ask if cold for another reason
      • A cold blast of air
      • Hold up a finger for silence
      • Consider the personalities in this room
      • Carlotta is most calculating
      • Business arrangements of Shu
      • Nothing to threaten your business
      • The opportunity was committed by someone who understands the engine
      • They are the most cunning agent
      • Ms Carlotta
      • Did you not tell me yourself that you righted the ship
      • This will get you the Crack the Case achievement as well as free passage leaving Honolulu
    • explore and heal on the beach
    • sell buddha statue
  • San Francisco
    • buy smith and wesson at the market
    • Along the way you’ll talk to a Pinkerton agent
    • Answer first question however you want, then probing, then confront him and ask what he is doing
    • This will allow you to hide your money when Jesse James shows up in Omaha
    • When Jesse James shows up, don’t give money and punch him for Take that Varmit achievement
  • New York
    • negotiate to leave sooner for $1300
    • sell the Smith and Wesson at the market
  • London
  • Congrats that should get you 40 Days (and 50, 60, 70, and 80 if you didn’t get them before), No Hotels and No Banks achievements all in one go.

Seed 5
Achievement Goals: From Earth to the Moon, The Artificer's Rescue, Flying High, Under the Sea, A Night in the Ruins, 20 Cities

Notes: Paris to Zurich route becomes available on Seed 4 which makes From Earth to the Moon possible after that. I believe all other achievements are available on another seed, but you would need to alter the route to Alexandria.

I received 20 Cities on a different route before this one in my own playthrough

  • Paris
  • Zurich
    • meet with Fogg’s friend, Ardan after you get stuck here and agree to take his fast travel to Tunis
  • Tunis
    • Ardan will tell us to meet him in Miami (we’ll get there eventually)
  • Beirut
  • Alexandria
    • explore the library and meet Helena Kapodistrias
  • Cairo
    • meet with Helena Kapodistrias and agree to travel with her to Luxor

  • Honolulu
  • Panama City
  • Acapulco

    • Wow, remember that we needed to come here for a rocket?! Meet back up with Ardan and agree to go to Nassau and then launch yourself for From Earth to the Moon achievement
  • You’ll land in Ponta Delgada and after spending the night, you can travel to london for free to finish the run
  • If I counted correctly this should get you the 20 Cities achievement, if not, you’ll get it on Seed 7 or 8
Seed 6
Achievement Goals: He is Lost, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Love in the Ice

Notes: I swapped this from Seed 2 since the Cambridge start doesn't work there like I thought. This route is not seed specific but should be done Seed 3 or later. You need to be arriving in Kristiania on Day 3 afternoon.

In case you want to revert and do the original Seed 6, you should be able to buy whiskey in Bucharest (stop 2 after Paris).

  • Cambridge
    • Spend a night here to time arriving in Kristiania correctly
  • Kristiania
    • Explore and find the underground city here and speak to Otto Lidenbrock
    • Tell Otto to go to Iceland - we will find him there later!
  • Tromso
  • Smeerenburg
  • North Pole - we are multitasking here, we need to romance and set-up to both kill and save Fogg all at once! I think you can back-up your save part way through the North Pole adventure but perhaps back it up here to be sure

    • Join the hunters when there is a commotion, doesn’t matter what choices you do beyond that
    • Go to a picnic with Vitti and romance him
    • Go to the navigation room and eavesdrop on an argument between the captain and the navigator, ask about tampering and step in between them to get punched by the navigator
  • Back-up your save if you haven’t already when the ice walker crashes!
  • First we are going to get Fogg killed
    • Pick prompts that mention Fogg’s worsening health
    • When there is an option to ask for favors, instead choose the option that says there was nothing to be done (or something like that)
    • Fogg will die and you will earn the He is Lost achievement
  • Reload your save (and get back to the crash if necessary)

    • Break Vitti’s heart and continue your journey
  • Reykjavik
    • Meet Otto again here and learn that he discovered a secret tunnel to Snowden!
    • Take it to get the Journey to the Center of the Earth achievement and finish the seed
Seed 7
Achievement Goals: The Summit of Mount Elbrus, Betray a Soul

Notes: I came up with this route to do together but actually did them separately on different seeds. I originally did Betray a Soul with Seed 3 while doing the Black Rose since you go through Madras and I did Mount Elbrus while trying a failed run for Barrelling Forward on seed 5.

Both of these should be available on any seed! This route specifically avoids the slavery routes/cities because it makes me sad.

  • Paris
  • Vienna
  • Warsaw
  • Minsk
    • You will meet a man when exploring
    • Follow him onto the tram to hear about his lost love Leena
  • Odessa
  • Istanbul
  • Novorossiysk
  • Tehran
    • Speak to the other fancy first class passenger
    • Call her by her real name, say that your learnt it from a sad man who you only knew briefly
    • She will divert the airship to Mount Elbrus where you'll disembark with her and get you the The Summit of Mount Elbrus achievement
  • Kabul
  • Lahore
  • Delhi
  • Madras
    • When exploring, you will be stalked by a nun
    • Turn to face her, say no and you’ll be whacked (almost everything you will do will get you smacked really - other than running)
    • Agree to look for an intelligent automation
  • Waltair
  • Rangoon
  • Batavia
  • Brisbane
  • Lima
  • Santiago
  • Asuncion
  • Rio De Janeiro
  • Freetown
  • Timbuktu
  • Marrakesh
    • Look into Madame Diallo’s chamber and curiosity will cause you to go in and discover her automaton daughter
    • You will get a shard in exchange for your silence, oops we are about to break that deal
    • When you arrive in Marrakesh, explore and send a telegram to the Sisters of Didacus and tell them everything then visit a bank for the Betray a Soul achievement
  • Tangier
  • Lisbon
  • London to end the seed
Seed 8
Achievement Goals: A Career in Journalism, Lightweight Champion, 30 Cities

Notes: I got Lightweight Champion on a failed 40 day run on seed 4 in my own playthrough but I think it is available on any seed. A Career in Journalism is only available seed 7 or later because you need the Orient Express to go right to Istanbul.

  • Paris
  • Istanbul
    • Along the way from Paris to Munich, watch the scenery to go to the observation car
    • Help a man who struggling with his bags and he will introduce himself as Henri de Blowitz
    • Sit with him in the dining car and discuss Austria’s war plans
  • Antalya
  • Beirut
  • Alexandria
  • Cairo
    • Explore the city and meet with Henri de Blowitz again and he will tell you he is looking for an Ottoman weapon
  • Luxor
  • Aswan
    • Explore and discover the weapon!
  • Wadi Halfa
    • Send a telegram back to Henri de Blowitz to get the A Career in Journalism achievement

  • Ujiji
  • Quelimane
  • Bloemfontein
  • Bhayi
  • Antananarivo
  • Columbo
  • Madras
  • Waltair

  • Beijing
  • Vladivostok
  • Pyongyang
  • Yokohama
  • Honolulu (mystery again)
  • San Francisco
  • Salt Lake City
  • Cheyenne
  • Dallas
  • Houston
  • New Orleans
  • Washington
    • Fogg will set up a boxing match between you and Charlie Sullivan
    • Back-up your save in case! Reload it if you fail
    • Starting with a heavy punch worked best for me but I actually did it on a different seed than I’m suggesting here so it may not be as effective in Seed 8
    • Review what is being said in the text and try to pick the correct option, block if he looks like he will punch and jab if it looks like he will block
    • He will be defeated and you will earn the Lightweight Champion achievement
  • New York - check the globe button, this should be 30 cities but if you need more...
  • Winnipeg
  • Ivujivik
  • Nanortalik
  • Reykjavik
  • London - this will get you 30 Cities achievement
As Far As the Moon Achievement
Travel over 239 000 miles total.

The achievement only counts the distance at the end of the route. Everyone estimates 8-10 runs total.

I needed one more (9 runs) approximately 36,000 mile run to complete this achievement beyond the 8 similar routes to the ones I've listed in this guide. Since I didn't take the exact routes I'm suggesting, it's possible you will need one more run.
Passepartout Stats
After playing over 20 hours I discovered that if you click the globe and wait long enough, it will tell you what Passepartout's stat is and his relationship with Fogg. Funny how I never thought to look beyond how far I travelled!

Inkle gave a GDC talk in 2015 that talked about how they developed 80 days (also just neat to see) and they discuss Passepartout's stats.

Here is a link to the video: https://www.gdcvault.com/play/1021774/Adventures-in-Text-Innovating-in
Here is a link to the stats: https://imgur.com/TR7aT3u

I felt it was way too much effort to try and make a route based around manipulating this stats but I found it very interesting so I thought I'd share it here since I only thought to look for it after an offhand comment in the ios guide and it was buried in discussion posts and reddit threads.
Conclusion
I hope this guide is helpful for any of you achievement hunters out there.

100% took me almost 32 hours but that doesn't include so many more hours that I spent trying to search for routes and charting out achievements that would work together so I hope this saves you time!

Glad to help! The guide's good, my comments are mostly nitpicks.
The exact dialogue is hard to pin down from memory, so a general warning might suffice. Can't remember the exact whiskey locations in Seed 2, although the first one was very early on (like within the first three cities or so). For Seed 4, I definitely remember buying some travel gear early, so that likely contributed.
Thanks for the prompt response!

I made corrections to the wrong routes that I listed such as Tunis-Alexandria, Odessa-Novorossiysk, and Colombo-Waltair. I wrote notes in a weird way and sometimes missed a connection in between or added one that didn't exist - oops!

I moved the location for the save state in seed 5 to help avoid the issue you mentioned, and clarified the temple name for seed 1. I added the visit to the bank at Marrakesh for Betray a Soul and to disembark with Leena in seed 7. I added in notes about checking the news for the Yokohama-Honolulu route in seed 2 and 3 - sorry about that! Not sure if the news can appear sooner than seed 2.

Interesting about your seed 4 being easier! Maybe gear related?
SuperKimbit  [作者] 9 月 20 日 下午 3:38
Thank you so much for your feedback and extra info @Omnisciurus! In a lot of cases I found it hard to tell what dialogue mattered so it makes sense that you can blow it haha. I'm not sure how to best warn about this, should I just mention it in the specific spots you note or a general warning? I cannot remember any specific dialogue unfortunately.

Dag about Seed 2 not being possible in the way I describe. Nothing in the wiki said anything about the Cambridge route not being available right away so I must have missed that! Good to know about seed 2 having great whiskey though!! I'll probably just exchange these. Would you be able to share where you found whiskey?

Seed 6 - (your Seed 7) The Odessa-Novorossiysk connection is always locked when arriving via Minsk, must go through Istanbul instead. To get the 'Summit of Mount Elbrus' achievement, you must actually disembark there with Leena, not just have the airship diverted. Also, the Colombo-Waltair connection doesn't exist. And in order to get the 'Betray a Soul' achievement, you have to visit ANY BANK after sending the telegram and trade the shard for 2000 pounds.

Seed 7 - (your Seed 3) Mostly accurate, although the timing of the second visit by Estelle is random, in my case it happened in Batavia (after I sold the Cigarette case in Benares). And the final reveal in El Dorado can also be messed up by dialogue choices after you enter the vault via the hatch in the ship. It's possible that Passepartout will only vaguely describe what happened in the vault. In that case, no achievement.

Seed 8 - No comments here; the boxing match was a mess though.
Omnisciurus 9 月 20 日 下午 1:14
Seed 3 - There was no train robbery on my third playthrough, so I just did your route for Seed 2 here. Worked just fine.

Seed 4 - I never had any issue with keeping Fogg healthy here; he gets fully healed up in Urga, and then again in Honolulu, so I barely needed to manually attend to him. However, an important thing that you forgot to mention is that in order to unlock the Yokohama-Honolulu route, you need to first read about the 'experimental airship' from a newspaper at any point when travelling. If you arrive at Yokohama without having read the news, you're screwed. I found that out the hard way.

Seed 5 - There is no Tunis-Alexandria route, you need to go through Beirut. Also, when you make your save in Luxor after Helena goes missing, you must save BEFORE actually using the device and finding out where the kidnappers took her. Otherwise you're locked into the Manama route and can no longer use the device to reach Machu Picchu.

Decent guide, upvoted, thanks! Some things could be clarified more, though. I'll go through my own playthrough seed-by-seed.

Seed 1 - Certain follow-up dialogue options can mess up a scene (this tip applies to all seeds), like when showing the flute to the guard on the Vienna-Belgrade route; you can still get stopped if you don't pick the correct options afterwards. Also in Urga, you must go up to the one specific named temple, NOT pick the generic 'visit the temples' option. You also don't need to keep the sulde after showing it to the monks, so feel free to sell it (same with the flute). Also, for 'Love in London', you actually have to succeed in winning the bet, so arrive in 80 days or less, otherwise Goland won't be there.

Seed 2 - This path won't work, since the Cambridge route will not be unlocked after just one playthrough. I just did your route for Seed 6 as my second playthrough, since there were three (!) chances to buy whiskey en-route.
