Only the United States, NATO and CSAT maintain heavy nuclear arsenals. Carrier operations are limited to the US, China, NATO and CSAT; no other states field aircraft carriers.


States with no history of nuclear proliferation neither possess nor employ nuclear weapons. Independent or non-aligned nations likewise forgo any nuclear capability.


Doctrinal outlines:

China adheres to its established space, maritime and ICBM strategy.

The United States centers on carrier strike groups backed by a robust ICBM force.

NATO balances carrier and ICBM assets with a stronger emphasis on ground formations.

North African states, India and Iran do not operate carriers.

All nuclear-capable powers profess restraint and largely subscribe to a no-first-use stance. In keeping with modern doctrine, however, any nation that is struck or suffers substantial territorial losses will consider employing WMDs.
